From starter to dessert, everything is perfect. Excellent cuisine, friendly and authentic setting between Furi and Zermatt. Walk to the restaurant and taste the chef's delicious dishes. To recommend without hesitation.

Super rustic, an insider tip on the valley run. Very delicious food and top wines. The cream slice is a must-have.

You CANNOT miss this restaurant if you're in Zermatt. It is worth the ski down or hike up 100 times over. It has great traditional cuisine, a beautiful view and quick service. It was good value for money compared to other Zermatt restaurants. You must have some of their fresh desserts/sweet treats!

Probably the best restaurant in a ski slope I have ever visited. Super pleasant hosts, high level cooking and deserts to die for (don’t sleep on the cremeschnitte). The location is a little bit hidden, but beautiful

Food portions are big, definitely could be shared. The deserts were average, and not worth coming and paying.

And once again: this gem is picturesque and in the middle of nature, where we immediately felt at home. The cream slices are world class - forget the industrial cream slices with the icing lid and redefine the term cream slices at this place!

Superb setting lost in the middle of nowhere and delicious cuisine!!!

Dropped by for afternoon tea at 3pm and was accommodated without a reservation. Delicious desserts and drinks in a friendly bustling environment.

By far, the best restaurant in Zermatt! The family managing & owning it, is incredible. They are at the kitchen and doing the service. I recommend to "save" some space for dessert!

Updated January 2024: my original review still stands, but we were at a much smaller table this time and still had to share the table with others. It was pretty cramped for how everyone was wearing ski clothes, but otherwise the food and service was great as usual! We had the tartare, the truffle tagliatelle, and a steak. A mountain hut for hearty meals. We skied by here on the way back to the hotel. Its a small place, so again reservations are important. You first don't see the restaurant, because it's behind a bunch of other buildings. After putting your skis down, you've got to walk through a very short, narrow passage to the restaurant. There you will see all their desserts on display outside next to the entrance door. Because the restaurant is so small, we had to share a table with another group. They were pleasant, but we focused on our food - liver, veal, and dessert! The food was filling - just what we needed after a long intensive second day of ski. Both the pasta and spatzle went well with their respective meats. The dessert was like a cross between an apple strudel and a mille feuille - I'm not complaining. Aside from food, we got a view of the kitchen from our table (which I always enjoy). I loved watching the dishes being frantically made and brought out.

Hiked there in winter in about an hour. Dined at the terrace area which works well for us as it is brighter than sitting inside the restaurant. Good food and service. Completed the meal with Napoleon Zum See dessert that was awesome.

If I had to summarize the experience here it would be "Relaxing fine dining in a beautiful hamlet". We went there in the fall of 2023 with two kids. We also did book in advance, whici you can do online and is very recommended. The restaurant has very friendly staff that makes you feel welcome from the start. The food is delicious: everything we ordered was top -notch and fully lived up to our high expectations. The portions are generous - a main course should leave your hunger satisfied. Even the kids loved it and that means something! The prices are not cheap by any standard, but justified given that it is Zermatt and given the high quality. Definitely recommended!

I was back today, after 8 years in this restaurant: still good food and an interesting wine list. I enjoyed very much everything although one wine, that I ordered on the list, they didn't have. The Dôle 2017 from Simon Maye, small bt, maybe was too old..anyway a good experience..Thank you

This is the best food we had while in Switzerland. Salad with sesame seed chicken were wonderful. The cinnamon ice cream was out of this world. Great atmosphere!

Incredible goulash. Absolutely worth the stop on your way through Zum See down to Furi. Unexpectedly became my favorite restaurant in the whole area. Warm, classic Swiss atmosphere

First and foremost, the food was amazing. The scenery was also incredible. We stumbled across this restaurant while hiking so we were quite amazed at the experience. Absolutely recommend! To get here you’d have to hike from Zermatt southwards Furi. Otherwise, it’s at the base of one of the ski slopes. Saw some groups literally come off the ski route for lunch.

There should be a place like this in every ski area... simply great in every respect!

So far, my favorite restaurant in Zermatt. Made a reservation in advance (you have to) but arrived an hour early and still got seated within 15 minutes, while enjoying drinks in among picturesque Swiss chalets. The food is not cheap, on par with some Michelin-star restaurants close by, but - in my opinion - better. Staff patient with our company, consisting of two confused families, and was happy to untangle the mess we made when splitting the bill. Definitely recommending it to anyone! I had calf liver with potato gratin and wine plums with cinamon icecream, but everyone's meals were equally great.

One of my favorite restaurants in Zermatt. The hosts are always very friendly and you can have a great time and also eat very well. The cream slice is legendary. Price performance is top It's always best to reserve. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside and enjoy the food.

We always go here when we visit Zermatt, in summer by foot or in winter by ski. Great ambience, great food, great wine. What more could you want in a mountain restaurant.

Delicious food! We had the giant prawn tagliatelle, giant prawn salad, fish soup, lobster tagliatelle, and the special, a truffle spaghetti. Suspend your disbelief - this seafood is great anywhere, especially on a mountain. The inside was super cozy and cute, and feels like an old Swiss restaurant. Perfect ski-in, ski-out location. Fantastic service. And don’t miss the Napoleon for dessert (mille-feuille layered with cream).

A friend told me about this zum see Restaurant, it's really cozy. There's no way that you don't like. Located in the mountains of Zermatt, and the snow around gives you a perspective of a magical dream. Best waitresses of all time, Myriam and Sabrina were really kind, and looks like Myriam speaks every language.

Delicious Mediterranean style seafood dishes with very friendly service. Worth the 15 min trek down n up slippery snowy slopes.

The place to go for the best Creme Schnitten in Zermatt! The other food is also delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is an easy 30min walk from the village center and it's also easy accessible from the slopes.

An exceptionally lovely place that is worth a 15 minutes hike down from Furi. The restaurant was traditional and cozy with nice outdoor views and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a very late lunch at 4pm and only got a few things to try, but they were all heartwarming and delicious! The rosti with ham and egg was the best I have ever eaten, the omelette with ham, cheese and herbs was top notch, the soup of the day (barley soup with vegetables) was so hearty. I’m not a fan of desserts but my partner can attest to the quality of the summer napolitan (in the picture). Would definitely come back again!

Stumbled upon the restaurant as I was hiking and I reccomend you get a reservation! I was lucky as I was alone and came fairly early. I got a daily special of sea bass as well as the apple strudel. I reccomend both and its worth the hike to get there!

A restaurant that I have visited many times, where I always feel welcome. Where I always eat well and feel that I am being looked after in a friendly manner. Perfect in an increasingly unfriendly world.

A great restaurant on your way between Furi-Zermatt. The staff were quite busy during lunchtime. But if you could wait to be seated, you'll find that they are attentive. I went there around 2PM, and waited for a few minutes to be noticed and get seated. I ordered the noodles with prawns, and I could say that these prawns were fresh. They're really big and sweet. The staff also came and asked if everything is okay. And when I asked for some recommendations, they could also give every details that I could choose from, which was great Worth visiting there. If anyone is walking between Furi and Zermatt, you can stop by and take a look. The shrimp are very fresh. You wouldn't expect a store in the valley to have such bouncy, sweet meat. It's even better than the stores in the city. The staff are very attentive according to European standards. Don't compare with Japan. Stop by and take a look.

Initially we got here to hide from the thunderstorm, but boy, oh boy, were we not disappointed with the food. It was delicious here! We had a rösti with mushrooms, a sea bass, and a few desserts and everything was top notch! I totally recommend the place. Maybe the only con is that the place is pretty dark inside, but I guess it's just a very traditional tavern.

There cannot be better views than at this site of the Matterhorn. We only had a beer because it was late, but it looked good and smelled good like food.

Too many people, slow service. Far too little space. Overpriced food. Shaky chairs/benches. Also way too loud. There were also a lot of French people and I was able to speak French fluently after just an hour and a half. But the food is really tasty.

A very nice place on the ski slope of Zermatt. Absolutely authentic, in this place you will experiment the true Swiss German gastronomy of the Swiss mountains! Not to raffinate but still authentic, the meals are perfectly balanced. What is better than a magnificent plate of bacon and roesti after a hard skiing morning? Nothing 😉 And for vegetarians there is still some salads. Don't wait to go there if you are in Zermatt
