Ajò Café in Lausanne

A fantastic place where you can have a breakfast in peace. My family and I were warmly welcomed into this cafe and experienced a noteworthy breakfast. We had a croissant with jam and an absolutely delicious homemade cake accompanied by a cappuccino made to perfection as if we were in Italy. Congratulations again to the owner and his partner and thank you for your sympathy and kindness. I hope to return soon to try the savory dish!

Incredible Schiacciata! I had the cooked ham with buratta, it was excellent! Very nice discovery. The charcuterie is cut on site with a slicer, finely and gradually it is the best. Not much room inside but I had takeaway and it was perfect.

A little corner of Italy hidden in Lausanne.

Located right next to the train station. I was able to grab an espresso to go just before my train and it was excellent! The coffee has a good texture and a nice cream and we find the flavor of Italian coffees (easy, round and chocolatey) and last important detail: your espresso in the right quantity unlike quite a few places in Switzerland where if you order a espresso you get almost a cup of coffee. The welcome is friendly enough to put us in a good mood in the morning. I recommend.

I recommend this address and particularly in spring or summer! The place is popular and that is understandable, but despite the queue the service is always fast and good. I didn't take advantage of the place, having taken away, but the place seemed cozy and the atmosphere friendly. The choice is wide… for those who eat pork! The menu deserves other options without meat, but the fact remains that the menu is wide and you can request a special service depending on your dietary preferences. What particularly struck me were the organic Italian cold teas that I absolutely recommend!!! I plan to return there for these little wonders!

Best restaurant in all of Lausanne

Ajo Cafe was the first place we went when we arrived in Lausanne from Geneva. We got to Ajo shortly after it opened and saw the move beautiful focaccia my wife or I had ever seen. We canceled our lunch reservation and got sandwiches from here instead - they were incredible. Ajo was one of our favorite meals in all of our time in Switzerland. The owner was from Sardinia and welcomed us in Italian as we entered and continued to make us feel quite welcome throughout our meal. If you're in Lausanne, don't make the mistake of missing this place!

It is rare to find shops where you can eat quality, local products... but here it is possible. I loved my foccacia! THANKS!

I like this place for an espresso (a flat white or a cappuccino for my partner) before I take a train. The coffee is good. 3.90 for an espresso that’s an affordable price. Thank you to the friendly staff.

This place is like from another world! Once you enter you feel like you are at an Italian deli/cafe = generous portions, people with smiles and lovely ambiance, great and fresh products, even free samples to try out!! The focaccia is homemade and the fillings are super fresh and yummy. The end result is amazing and very filling!!!! Perfect for brunch or lunch!! Recommended!

A small restaurant under the station which doesn't look like much but is delicious, a landmark for all young people, bobos and other home office workers... an Italian restaurant with delicious sandwiches... the children love them! Strataciella mortadella for example...killer!!! Very very very hearty

The atmosphere is cool, it's not bad for a date for two, but I didn't have the opportunity to taste the focaccias... The coffee was reasonably priced for the station...

Absolutely the best schiacciate in Lausanne. The ingredients are fresh and authentic. The staff is super nice and we have great chats whenever i grab a cappuccino or a shiacciate. They open early in the morning, and it is 50 meters from the training station. Definitely a perfect place to have a workday breakfast or weekend lunch.

The only place in Lausanne where you can eat a real Italian focaccia (even better than what you find in Italy today), baked fresh every day by the owner who kneads, cooks and stuffs it personally! The one with mortadella, stracciatella and pistachio oil is a must. Every day a small queue forms to taste the delicious focaccias: just a little patience, because they are prepared one by one on the spot, a guarantee of freshness and fragrance.

A treat every time! Fresh products and carefully prepared Italian sandwiches. Few tables to sit but I always found room. It's a delight and I come very regularly. Located two minutes walk from the station. You can't help but embrace these delicious Italian flavors, with the added bonus of delicious coffee.

Had a lovely brunch here. The pastries are fresh and the portions generous, and the coffee and hot chocolate were also great. It’s a small space that’s decorated nicely, with a warm and cozy ambience. The guy at the cafe was very nice and welcoming, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Highly recommend this place, situated very close to the train station.

Quaint little cafe with great apricot croissants which were light and so flavourful! The apricot jam was great too - just the right tangy sweetness! Owner of the cafe is friendly too so that added to the experience! One of the few cafes that open early in the area near the train station!

I let myself be tempted by a raw ham & mozzarella schiacciata as well as the tiramisu, I loved it! All the products are of excellent quality and the portions are generous. The staff is very friendly, I will go back without hesitation to taste the rest of the menu.

This little cafe, tucked away in the street behind the station, is absolutely delightful. The specialty is the delicious Schiacciata - like a Florentine Sandwich ! The coffee is perfect. There are usually homemade cakes or croissants on offer. Recommended 100%.

Sensational! I had a wonderful focaccia with mortadella, pistachio cream and stracciatella. The focaccia was perfectly cooked (crunchy outside and soft inside), the flavors very well balanced (maybe a tiny bit more cream would be a plus), and the mortadella had the ideal thickness. The service is caring. Will be back for sure!

Chanced upon this place and so glad we did! The bread was freshly made and ingredients were so fresh! We are from Singapore and have a good variety of food back home but this is one of the best sandwiches we had! Would love to take this home with us if we could!

Passing by this café by chance, we couldn't resist the delicious smell that emanated from it and we don't regret it. With almost ten visits already in just 2 months, we have almost tasted all the sandwiches and they are all to die for. To complete the experience, the welcome is very warm and the room with a few comfortable tables. To try it is to adopt it!

Schiacciata Burrata and cotto: excellent bread, burrata and cotto, we see that the products are of very good quality. I recommend this simple and effective schiacciata. I let myself be tempted by the tiramisu, and I did well, I recommend it. Very nice owner and cozy atmosphere.

The schiacciate here are amazing! Clearly high quality ingredients and the focaccia bread is hand made by the owner. The prices are more than fair: 2 generously stuffed sandwiches + 2 cokes = 36chf.
