Great pizza with a lot of feel-good factor all around, great interior and good service.

We heard about this place from our friends and since we were on vacation near Switzerland we spent an hour driving to Zurich to experience it, and it was absolutely worth it! We were introduced to the concept of the restaurant and how it's reflected in the menu, and received some great suggestions. The starters were interesting, the cocktail I've ordered was without doubt the most unique drink I ever had, and most importantly the pizza was amazing! Definitely coming back when we have a chance!

My visit to Alba was great - very warm and nice service, delicious food and a great, cozy atmosphere. The whole experience, from the reservation to the end, was great and I was thrilled by the staff, who put a lot of heart and passion into making Alba a great restaurant. I would particularly like to emphasize the small details that are important. Be it the personal presentation of the menu, the pizzas already shared on the plates if you want to share, or the entire facility. Absolutely worth a visit (or several). :)

Absolutely perfect, please trust me. I just jumped in this restaurant since the atmosphere looked lovely and realized I was in the best restaurant in Zurich. Great food, wine and hospitality! For Japanese people) The master used to travel alone and often popped into the restaurant, so solo travelers are welcome. (I was alone) The wine and food are second to none. If you are not sure, just follow the master's recommendations and everything will be fine. This is Straciatella, but it's a pizza shop, so next time I'll come for pizza!

Amazing pizzas, great dough and the tomato sauce is to die for!! The staff is lovely and you can tell they love taking care of their customers. On top of that the cocktails are delicious and creative. We had a wonderful night.

I absolutely love Alba - I have already been twice and I can only recommend it. First the atmosphere which makes you feel welcome the moment you step in (which is hard to find in Zurich!), the staff is lovely and is really making sure you are having a great night, cocktails are delicious with a very knowledgeable (and friendly!) bar manager and finally the food! You can tell a lot of thoughts has been going into selecting the best products and it shows - I am still thinking about my potato potato pizza !

First of all: The pizza is very good! I really like the atmosphere in the red part and it feels relaxing and inviting. The service was very nice and likes to take the time to explain. The prices are completely ok and contemporary. I would like to come again.

Nice concept for a pizza restaurant and the food quality is convincing. The choice of dishes and the wine list are somewhat limited, while cocktail lovers will be excited by the variety of drinks available.

I was here with colleagues from work and loved it so much that I went back the next day. The pizza is amazing and the people are really kind. Also the tiramisu was really good.

Amazing and friendly service, really really good pizza with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options too. Bonus points for whale noises in the bathroom. I think the price is very fair for what you get, relative to other places in Zurich. Highly recommend!

From the moment I entered the restaurant, I quickly realized that this was going to be no ordinary experience. The staff immediately managed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere with their courteous, friendly, personable, attentive and professional manner. You don't just feel like a guest, but almost like part of a big, warm family. The location itself is a dream come true. Very, very beautiful, comfortable and a feast for the eyes. A special highlight was the visit to the toilet - who can say that they were able to listen to whale songs while washing their hands? In addition, everything was sparkling clean and left no room for criticism. Now to what is probably the most important part of a visit to a restaurant – the food. Every bite was an explosion of flavor, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The original Italian pizza Diavola that was served to me was simply incomparable. It had just the right amount of spiciness and was so authentic that I actually felt like I was in Italy for a moment. My conclusion: It's a real shame that this culinary gem can't be found in Basel. If you have the opportunity, you should definitely pay a visit to the restaurant. I give it a 10/10 without hesitation and am already looking forward to my next visit.

Very hip place to spend an evening with friends. The food was delicious and the waiters were super nice and helpful. Atmosphere was great and I really loved the design of the whole place.

Overhyped place, pizza is OK but nothing mind-blowing. Service is questionable if you don't want be educated on which fork is for which dish and on what is souerdough then choose another option. One time visit and never again.

Super delicious pizza - classics and changing seasonal pizzas beyond what you can find anywhere else. Highly recommended - just because of a really sensational tiramisu and a great espresso afterwards.

Overhyped in my opinion. Food was ok - unfortunately the Pizza Diavola wasn't really spicy. The salad for the starter didn't blow me away either. Location - very narrow, way too loud, you couldn't really have a conversation. The staff was really nice ! No changing station available if you come with a baby.

Super friendly and speedy service! The sour dough Pizzas were absolutely delicious with creative toppings and not as filling as the regular Pizzas you get in other Pizzerias. Easily digestable thanks to the sour dough ingredient! Excellent Pizzas with that extra special touch! Will certainly be back soon!

Excellent service, very fine food with standard pizzas and pizzas that you don't see on the menu every day. We tried both and they were both incredibly good. The sourdough makes the whole thing very light and you don't feel full - so after the starter and the pizza you can also add a delicious dessert. The wine selection and advice was also exquisite and we were able to enjoy a matching orange wine from Italy. We will visit you again very soon.

The ALBA team shows hospitality to perfection. From the greeting to the meal to the farewell - which is really difficult - everything is characterized by friendliness and enjoyment. In addition to the small but fine menu, special offers such as the dry January drinks are impressive. But the special thing is the staff, who deserve special thanks. The sourdough pizza is more digestible than traditional pizza dough. The pizza was great and the tiramisu was heavenly. The service was very friendly. Overall, a great discovery. I will go there again.

We were there last night with our toddler. The atmosphere is casual and laid- back , service is super friendly and they know what they are doing! Someone helped us with our coats when we entered the restaurant and escorted us to our table. Menu was handed over very promptly and the staff explained how it works, adding a personal touch. We are mostly disappointed by the lacklustre service in Zurich but this was a breath of fresh air! The staff seemed to love what they are doing and had effective communication amongst them to ensure a seamless dining experience for us. The food menu is short, which is a sign that they focus on quality more than the quantity. Our both Pizzas (Cauliflower and winter fennel ) were incredibly fresh and tasty. The toppings were generous, bold flavours, something very rare to find in Zurich's food scene. Someone who appreciates pronounced flavours and fresh locally sourced ingredients,would hold this place in high regard. Please keep up the good work and huge applause to the kitchen and service team. A great concept with a great execution!We'll definitely be back for more!!

Something different, delicious! We sat in the Red Room - rather subdued light, entertainment is possible even when it is full - although there are some stools, i.e. not possible to lean on ;-). The front of the pizza oven is bright and has wooden chairs. Very friendly welcome, as 'newbies' the 'other' thing was explained to us in more detail. Sharing appetizers is definitely OK! We liked the rather small menu; we enjoyed both the traditional Diavola and the pizza with coppa. The tiramisu was fresh and airy - served in an ice cream bowl, hmm... you could do better than that. The sourdough actually went really well for us. Gladly again.

After hearing a lot of good things and recommendations from the locals, I decided to try this place on a Monday night. As I walked in I was greeted by a very polite and friendly lady who helped me pick out a Pizza and recommended a very tasty one for me from the menu - she then made me feel very accomodated as I waited (only 5 minutes) by making sure I have something to drink - which I also found amazing! They really know how to make their customers feel welcome. Delicious Italian Pizza, almost no waiting time and super customer service! I manage a Domino's Pizza nearby to this store and I'm very happy to have such lovely business neighbours! I will be coming back here again! Many thanks!

Really tasty pizza, even for take-away it was not soggy which very often is not the case. Selection is limited, but one thing can be said - ingredients are top level. Sadly we couldn’t eat in as the place was jam packed - so do yourself a favor and book a table in advance.

It was worth it just for the appetizers. We tried it out and experienced one taste explosion after another! We also tried out the pizzas, although I find the simple pizzas a lot better than the experimental ones. These no longer have much to do with a pizza.

I like their sourdough pizza, it's really good quality. But left over to go package was open paper dishes. Disappointed with their service, they could do better on it.

Update: To be fair, I have to revise my last review. After another chance, I have to admit, the pizza was really good this time, I'd happily do it again. As on the first visit, the service was very good. Service and ambience are very good. However, the pizza didn't convince me. Don't understand the hype at all. In terms of taste, there is not much difference to traditional pizza. The tomato sauce tastes a little sweet, I don't think it's that great... Also the creative dessert with the buffalo milk, for me, no more value than a “well”.

Nice, special atmosphere A bit tight

Had dinner there last night. The location and ambience is very cool, but when the hut is full it gets very loud, like a bar. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The creations are very interesting and creative, which is really cool. Good selection of wines. Vegan celery carpaccio very very tasty and very well marinated. Afterwards the “Mushroom Crunch” pizza was ordered (see picture). Sourdough tastes good, but you should bake the pizza a little crispier on the edge and not brush the edge with oil so much. Unfortunately, I have to say that the mushrooms were a disappointment because everything was way too soggy and the crunch was missing here too. The mushrooms were very poorly marinated and had no interesting taste of their own. The béchamel sauce was unfortunately very bland and lacked spice and pizzazz. I think the price of 28 CHF is a bit much for a veggie pizza, even in Zurich. However, I assume that the rent is outrageously overpriced, which unfortunately doesn't leave much scope for pricing. Overall, the resto has a lot of potential and I'll give it another try with a "meat" version.

Cool and very friendly location - excellent pizza a base levito madre 👍

I like the cool Zurich vibe of this pizza joint. The staff are very friendly and upbeat. We tried their two pizzas - Margarita and the mushroom crust. The dough was optimally light, the mushroom crust was too oily for us to finish however. Beef tartar was fresh and flavorful.

The pizza tastes delicious and the combinations, which initially seemed unusual, convinced us! The interior is stylish and everything is very tasteful.

Too crowded. We were there on a Friday evening. The pizzas are creative, but the taste is not convincing. What is most annoying is the sales staff, who seem artificial and seem to have only one thought in their heads: “How do I get more money from the guest?” and this in such an obvious way that it seems strange and not natural at all. It was good to try it out but wouldn't go there again.

A place that deserves the hype. We strive for the perfect pizza with great passion. Sure, you can argue about preferences and taste; that remains subjective. But putting in the effort in every variable to bring the best product to the table deserves respect. The whole thing without the typical “hipster arrogance” that is unfortunately often found in this type of restaurant makes the experience almost perfect. Big compliment, it was a pleasure. The only critical feedback as a wine lover: The selection of glasses doesn't seem to me to have been made with the same care as the rest, and a wine list without specifying the producers, but only with the grape variety and region, is only moderately helpful...but it's okay about pizza, not wine ;)

There are two areas - one restaurant and one lounge vibe. They have classic pizza as well as special creations. Overall small menu but good food.

"We were greeted very friendly and "introduced" to the menu. Very unusual dishes from the starters to the dessert, definitely not a run-of-the-mill pizzaria. The pizza (Lardo) was very special and the taste was something completely new for me. The price was completely ok. We got 100 .- paid for 2 people. I found the dessert (buffalo milk soft ice cream) a bit expensive at 12.-. All in all, definitely worth a visit."

The drinks, with or without alcohol, were surprising and delicious. And the price was right. The same goes for the pizza, which wasn't traditional or even trying to be original in any way, just new and good.

I heard from seven corners that there was a new pizza in town. Sourdough; That's when I prick up my ears and would really like to try the pizza. It should be a margherita and a salad as a starter. Quality and perfectly suited my taste! Thanks. Service - I give deductions: I have my reserved table in a still empty restaurant and want to be assigned 6+ staff keys. It felt like I was ignored or ignored for too long. Unfortunately, I can't speak English fluently and the international staff's attention was very rude. Sugar was forgotten with espresso. Our two tables were served by 4 waiters, so even more mistakes can happen. You're new and still getting used to it, I understand that - but it's not enough for 5 stars.

Have been there twice. Not only did the staff remembered us (a month after our first visit) they are exceptionally welcoming, competent and just overall very friendly. Food was outstanding. We shared the burrata dish as a starter and than had a margarita and a salami pizza. Very light and tasty crust! Topped with high quality ingredients! Very well done! Already reserved a table again. Make sure to reserve early enough, they habe a long wait for reservations on weekends. Absolutely worth it 👏👏

I have been to Alba several occasions already and without fail, every experience has been a very positive one. From the excellent food, the hospitality oriented service & warm cosy atmosphere, Alba represents authentic dining with their modern twist on Italian inspired dishes with locally sourced ingredients headlined by their Sourdough Pizzas. Safe to say, Alba is a prime spot for Foodies and is a very welcome addition to the culinary scene in Zurich.

I spent a perfect evening at Alba. The pizzas are very tasty - from the classic to the more unusual creations. The starter and dessert were also very tasty. The service is extremely friendly and attentive. The ambience is also beautiful and cozy - you feel very comfortable, both inside and outside. The drinks are great too! All in all very recommendable!

The new Alba Pizzeria lives up to its reputation! In my opinion the best pizza in Zurich. The drinks at the bar were just as good and the starters/desserts were very creative. My recommendation: the Diavola and the Buffalomilk Soft Serve. The Alba pizzas change depending on the season - so we recommend coming back again and again.

Amazing service and absolutely delicious sourdough pizzas. I was wary to try one of their non-traditional pizzas, but I ended up liking it even more than the margarita pizza we also ordered. 10/10!

Alba sourdough pizza places the bet on having the best of both worlds: Italian tradition and the influence of other cuisines. I was lucky to share the classic ones and also try the Vietnamese inspired pizza. I’m a Margherita lover and I was definitely impressed with the Alba creation: mint, coriander, peanuts, pickled carrots, chili… it brought me back to my holidays in Vietnam. Spot on, a risky move that pays off. And the Margherita was breathtaking. The tartar was also amazing. But the pizza got my heart. The dough was airy but crispy, full of flavor. Counting the days to be back. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful, the place is fantastic and today was just the perfect temperature to enjoy an outside dinner. Thank you Alba!

One of the best pizzas I ever had!

New restaurant in town which just renewed their menu when we ate there. The sourdough pizzas are really good, I highly recommend to stick to the classic and to have a Margherita. Their ingredients are really fresh and you can taste every part of the pizza individually. Up to good Italian standards and a real star in the sky of Zurich. Now if you want to eat here, for a starter and a pizza plan no less than 1h30. We spent 2h there and had to ask for the check thrice. This is not because of poor service, which honestly is very friendly, it's because they're victims of their success in their early stage and have too much on their plate between bonding with their customers and delivering great food. Will come back in a few months and update the comment if it changes!

The pizzas are great - all of us had something different, everyone enjoyed it, and vegetarians were well catered for. Service has a Californian farm to table vibe. So why three stars? The wine servings by the glass were very stingy - definitely less than the standard 1dl. Later in the meal someone ordered another glass which was clearly over the standard size, so maybe they’re just inconsistent 🤷‍♂️ Don’t mention it at the time, as we were with guests and didn’t want to spoil the vibe getting into a discussion, but definitely disappointed.

Best Pizza in town, lovely peeps in service and a relaxing but adventurous toilette 🐳 You have to check out their ice cream dessert! I am not a dessert person but I would order another serving for sure 🤤

Alba is the perfect place for a meal in Zurich. The restaurant is large with tons of outdoor dining. Alba’s thoughtful, bespoke decor is the perfect mix of chic and comfortable. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the stracciatella is a true stand-out. They have an extensive wine and drink menu, and it was so fun to have the waitstaff recommend drink pairings with dinner. Alba is effortlessly chic and a fun time for groups or an intimate dinner.

Simply lovely from start to finish! The pizza is so delicious and the menu has a great variety of things. You can truly taste that the products and ingredients are fresh. We also love the atmosphere, they’ve designed their space beautifully. We will be coming back often!

I dont know why this place gets hyped. They brought us the main while we were still eating our first. And the pizza such as traditional and their special ones are really not good and I am Italian so I know what a good pizza needs to taste. I know sourdough but the topics are not tasty. And everything is too overpowering

We were able to enjoy one of the BEST pizzas here and had a wonderful evening with friends (we from Austria). We also talked to an extremely friendly owner who accompanied us through our menu from start to finish and catapulted our pizza cravings to the next level! Thank you very much for the great evening! As part of a Wemakeit campaign, we were able to attend a Pizzaiolo Masterclass course. The restaurant is beautifully designed, the style is well thought out, offers something very special and is consistent from A to Z. Everything was revealed and explained to us: the ideas for opening a “sourdough pizzeria”, the design of the restaurant with an artist, the local procurement of high-quality products and, most importantly (for us), the production of a sourdough pizza. With joy and the support of the two very nice pizzaiolos, everyone got to work. I had no idea that there was so much to consider when making a “simple” pizza. We all made it and were able to pack up our dough (it can and must still develop for 24 hours). Our pizzaolos took care of the ready-to-bake dough and also taught us various techniques. Enjoyed with one or more glasses of red wine, it was very tasty, my first sourdough pizza, almost homemade. We went home richly gifted and today we practice shaping the dough 👍 Thank you all very much, we will be back.

The pizza is excellent. No doubt. Tomato sauce is great. Service attentive and friendly. Whoever came up with the ouside seating concept and selection of tables should reconsider his job :) The tables outside are some kind of fancy industrial metallic uncomfortable non-sense. It’s not fun to eat outside. If you spill something by accident it lands straight through the grid on your trousers. In ddition, they charged 11 CHF for a non-alcoholic „drink“ made of Gazzosa, sparkling water and 2 leaves of mint served i a small whiskey tumbler.

I had really high hopes for this place, but I am so gutted to say I am wildly disappointed. We had to wait 1.5h for our pizza and it seemed like nobody even cared. Our waitress was really nice, but when we took a look in the kitchen they we’re far too chill considering loads of people were waiting for their pizza. After all that wait we weren’t even in the mood for pizza anymore and were ready to walk out if the pizza hadn’t come in that moment. The free limoncello at the end didn’t make it any better and I will sadly not be back.

I mean you really have to like sourdough pizza because it has that sour taste to it which I found very dominant. The sourdough taste overshadowes the tomato sauce and salami for me.. Our pizzas weren’t salted at all it seemed. Other than that the interior is really nice and the guys seem very friendly!

It was our first time at Alba but it won’t be our last! We were a group of 5 so got to try a lot of dishes and really enjoyed the food, from starter to desert. At the beginning we were surprised by the unconventional pizza choices, but they ended up being our favorites :) Special thanks to the service, super friendly and welcoming!

The starter was very good although it was quite small. After waiting for over 3/4 hour, we asked the lady in service when the pizza would be served, she was rude and said: We are slow. They must wait. When the pizza finally came, it was served cold. Very unfortunate...

Food itself was great! But for a simple mocktail with a bit of ice, gazosa & orange syrup 12 francs is just a rip off! Tempting yourself with expensive “house specials” without showing the drinks menu is a no-go
