Awful. Pictures are misleading. We booked for 2 nights but we escaped after one. The hotel was dirty, fatiscent, smelled like mould. No hot water to shower. The lady told us that a technician came on the same day but could not fix the problem, so he would have come the day after. We checked the reviews in Booking, and customers complained about missing hot water since 2 weeks. When we complained, the lady literally told us "it's not my problem, what can I do?". Roller shutter in the room was missing, so everybody from the street could see us, there were also ambiguous stains on the floor and on the bed sheets (see pics). The restaurant was not functional so we had to find alternative solutions to eat.

We stayed there one night. Worst quality/price ratio (by far) of the multiple hotels we have stayed in in Switzerland. No hot water in the showers, due to lack of staff: no solution or compensation was offered to us. The hotel is old and very poorly soundproofed. The rooms are dirty and borderline dilapidated. There was no hot water, we reported this to the person present who said she would take care of it and come to inform us. At 9 p.m. no news except an email saying that the repairer would be contacted. The manager didn't even bother to come and tell us in person and disappeared from reception which remained empty until our departure the next day. We then responded to his email requesting compensation but again no response. Looking at previous comments, the hot water problem is not new. A great lack of professionalism, and poor value for money. To avoid !!

The hotel has a fantastic location. The rooms are rather simply furnished. The shower is either in the hallway or in a cubicle without a privacy screen in the middle of the room. By the way, water was cold in all 2 places. The room was very noisy because we only talked quietly in the room and were immediately pointed out by the neighbors that we were too loud. We arrived in the evening and found our key at the counter. Staff were not present in the morning and the restaurant and breakfast room were closed.

We came here spontaneously for dinner after hiking. At first we weren't sure whether we ended up in a good restaurant because there was a closed event going on at the same time. However, it has to be said that both the service and the kitchen still worked perfectly. We had a spaghetti carbonara and a lasagna, both tasted very good and the price was very reasonable for Swiss standards. We were very happy about that and we are already looking forward to our next visit to the Maggia Valley.
