No. 19 is very tasty. Mega fresh and large portion. Unfortunately it was expensive but it tasted good.

We were allowed to visit the restaurant for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere was warm as was the service. The various dishes were all very tasty, accompanied by the sound of a DJ. We'll definitely be back.

I didn't realise that the place was vegan until I sat down and saw the menu. No big deal, we ordered a bit too much tbh as everything looked really good. The food was absolutely amazing, huge portions and very beautifully presented. The staff and service was spot on and the atmosphere was so nice. We took the little leftovers with us home for later 🤭 Although the place doesn't take bookings, we got a table straight away (came at 18.15) and there was no line outside when we were leaving. Honestly, I cannot wait to come back to eat there! Highly recommend!

Nice atmosphere on a Sunday. Food is delicious, service is friendly and actually smiles. There was a really good DJ with low beats and reggae mixes. People were talking and laughing so it was a cool contagious vive. Deffo coming again

Great food, good size of portions, size of self made soya drink is too small tho. Nice decoration, but the seating is too dense and the chairs are not really comfortable, so you basically just eat and then leave. Waitress was friendly, and food was delivered fast. However, we needed to reach out to be seated and to order.

Second time visiting. Service is swift& friendly. First they offer you always some house tea. I loved all the different Vegetarian option especially the things with mushroom. Portion are Bug. Bun bi cha Chay with fresh Mint is great. Com bi cha is awesome loaded plate if you like fried stuff. The Pho was a bit too sweet and not as steaming hot as liked.

We visited on a Thursday evening. At 7 p.m. it is already quite full and we had to wait in line for about 15 minutes. It is worth it! +Friendly and attentive staff +Small selection +Fine non-alcoholic beer +Very authentic (but the fresh herbs are missing) +Price/performance is fair +If you wait you will be served free tea +Clean and cozy restaurant -Pictures would be helpful (especially for people who don't know Vietnamese cuisine) -We received the main course even though we only started with the starter

Super fine and a dream for all vegans!

An Chay in Zurich is a true gem for lovers of meatless cuisine. As the first Vietnamese kitchen in Zurich to completely avoid meat, it offers a unique culinary experience. Despite its small size, the restaurant is very inviting. The friendly team welcomes you when you arrive and shows you to your table. The menu is accessible digitally, either by scanning a QR code or by visiting their website, making ordering a seamless process. We chose the Spicy Papaya Salad, Pho Chay and their most famous dish, the "Banh Mi MVP". Each dish was filled with vegan ingredients like seitan, shredded tofu, mushrooms and lots of pickled vegetables. The portions were generous and the flavors were outstanding. The service was very friendly and attentive from the start, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Overall, An Chay is a small but fine restaurant that I can warmly recommend. It's the perfect place for anyone who wants to experience Vietnamese cuisine in a new, meatless twist.

The food was good, but the music was way too loud (and that's coming from someone with a long history of raving). Doesn't matter how cool you want your restaurant to be, when people go to a restaurant they want to talk.

Really disappointed by the service… more than 1h30 min to get our food… no apologies and asking us to eat faster as they were closing the restaurant. Food was good at least.

Unfriendly staff, they don’t inform you that you will have to wait 1 hour before the starter comes. When you ask them “how long do they estimate that it might take the food to prepare?” Their answer is “it will come, when it will come”… It is not worth the visit for the price and quality of service.

I think one hour wait for a starter is way to long. Especially when the prices are above 20

The food is ok-good, but very expensive, even though there is no meat on the plate. The location is right, the service is good too.

Very nice 99% vegan restaurant (the 99% is 100% if you choose the vegan sauce instead of the fish sauce). Nice service and atmosphere. Will come back.

Has become my favorite shop in Zurich. The food can't be beat. If you don't like coriander (like me) you should leave it out when ordering. It's not necessarily cheap either. But it's still worth it.

Yum Yum yum! But popular place so you maaayyy have some waiting time, we were lucky. And soo lucky we were because the food is simply divine. I’m not vegan but I can appreciate a perfectly created vegan dish. Need to come back again.

Only vegan food! We didn’t know it’s a vegan Vietnamese restaurant until coming but were surprised with options and taste of the food. It was very delicious and plates were big. Very nice place, can be busy but we were set inside without problems. Recommend and will come again.

Came before 6:30pm on a Friday and got seated immediately. By 7:00pm there was quite the line! They have both indoor and outdoor seating 👍🏼 And you walk inside to pay. Food is very yummy, and fair priced. Great option for vegetarians and vegans! Tip: ask for more fish sauce to spread over the big portion of rice noodles!! Once things got really busy, the service got a lot slower but all in all, great staff ~ very nice. Definitely would recommend if you haven’t been already 😊

Food: grade 6, service: grade 1. We were there on a fairly busy Wednesday evening and decided against the wait and opted for take-away. When I allowed myself to give feedback while waiting, it was clear that this was perceived as lese majeste. To be fair, I have to admit that I was able to understand the explanation of one of my points of criticism very well, not an issue. Otherwise we were punished with ignorance for our audacity. I don't expect "the customer is king", never. However, I wouldn't think it's wrong to have a minimum of guest FRIENDSHIP or at least professionalism ............ I won't come back.

I would love to give even more stars. Very great restaurant with very tasty vegan and vegetarian dishes. The food tastes very authentic. I have never tried such a good Vietnamese restaurant in Switzerland. The service is very nice. The restaurant is always pretty full. When there is live music, it is a little loud.

This is an amazing place where you’re going to eat healthy and delicious dishes. Can’t get enough of their banh mi. It’s always packed too, so you know this is a safe bet when eating out. So much flavour in every dish.

Really cute restaurant, with outside seating and very sweet staff. The portions are very big and have unique vegan/vegetarian dishes. I only wished they had more healthy options with less oil.

We ordered the Com Bi Cha platter... It just tasted boring... There was only a little soy sauce... Food was dry and tasteless. The only good thing was the homemade drinks.

I went here for lunch. Our food was delicious and the service fast. It was not busy at around 12 on a week day, no reservation was needed.

We came here as a recommendation from a friend. I have to say the restaurant was full, which on the positive side, it seems (mostly young under 30s) love to come and dine here; on the negative side, it meant we couldn’t have a conversation without having to speaking loudly. I must also add the staff were really nice and portions were generous. We were welcomed with a complimentary cup of house-mixed tea, which was really nice. My partner had the no.13 (BUN CHA GIO CHAY) and I had the no.12 (COM BI CHA – THE LOADED PLATE). This review is therefore mostly about the no. 12. It was generally very very very dry. The kimchi and the seitan skewer were really nice, but everything else was extremely dry. It for sure would be much nicer with more of the Vietnamese green sauce. About the no. 13, I got to try the spring rolls from my partner’s plate (main actor in the dish) and it was also really really dry and a bit bland… shame though, as it is nice to have a vegetarian/vegan place to go to! I am looking forward to trying different dishes that can hopefully change my mind. P.S: the house tea was delicious! 🫖

The food was great: looks good, is fresh and simply tastes good. All dishes can also be ordered vegan. The service was very friendly. At first it was quick, but as the restaurant later became more crowded, we unfortunately had to wait longer and try several times to get the staff's attention to order a dessert. But because everything else was really awesome, 5 stars anyway :-).

Too hip and fancy to offer a “table” that is intended for two and instead put a third stool so that the table is only offered for a group of three. We were seated at the windowsill, but the seating arrangement is too narrow and uncomfortable. The welcome tea served is nice, but the two beers we ordered were not served. Stools are uncomfortable, get out of here quickly..

The food here is basically VEGAN and absolutely delicious! There's some weird thing about fish sauce, but other than that as far as I can tell it was vegan. It's almost like you need to special order the fish sauce (who would do that? 😉). The papaya salad in this picture was fantastic -- quite authentically Vietnamese tasting. The atmosphere was a bit crazy, cozy and chaotic on a Friday night, but definitely worth it. There was some "imitation chicken" in the soup which honestly was too "authentic" tasting for my wife to handle... I also had my doubts for a moment about whether it was actually vegan. But I trusted them and it didn't have the texture of actual chicken. I plan to return!

First things first: vegetarian or vegan dishes only!! Second: the menu is relatively restricted, possibly 15 dishes, more or less. Service was swift and portions generous and yet ... neither of us feel we need to go back, there was just something missing. The dishes were fairly bland and as the restaurant was jumping, the noise level prevented you from having a conversation without shouting. We did say we were probably the oldest patrons there. We ended up across the street for drinks and a chat.

Some of the best food I've ever tasted. I loved the vegan pho.

The food was absolutely delicious! Flavorful, healthy, and filling. All sauces have a vegan option as well, so you can go without fish sauce. Very friendly staff. The queue was long, but worth the wait, and we helped ourselves to some drinks in the meantime.

I think over 40 minutes for two trains is a bit long, especially since it was said it would take about 15-20 minutes :(

When we arrived there was a huge queue and we didn't know exactly whether these people were queuing for take-away or eating on site. A very friendly employee then assigned us a table outside and explained to us that the order had to be placed at the checkout. The food came relatively quickly and was extremely tasty. Seems very authentic! Gladly again!

Indescribably good. Every bite is just so delicious. I don't really understand the fish sauce, it's not necessary with all this umami that exists even without it. GO VEGAN

- there were three pieces of a sharp wood-like inedible object in my food. - the wait time to order and to get your food after you order is way too long. - the banh mi is average. - the rice bowl was tasty.

I dont even like vegan food and it still made it into my top 3 restaurants in Zurich. I never had a better sticky rice in my life and the Team is wholesome. An Chay is the real deal.

Fantastic dishes (although definitively on the salty side), beautiful restaurant... 4 stars instead of 5 solely because they still serve fish sauce, while everything else is ENTIRELY vegan. It weirds me out and leaves a bad taste (literally, bc last time they mixed up our order and we did have the dish smothered in fish sauce). I say this with love: Please ditch it, you would be so much more creative, progressive, environmentally-minded and compassionate. In case you have not seen it, please do watch the acclaimed documentary Seaspiracy, and you will easily see the reason why none of us should (ab)use fish anymore. Thank you guys, much love!
