Auberge de la Halle in Gruyères

I ate with friends at the Auberge de la Halle restaurant and was pampered from start to finish. The beef fillet on the hot stone was a culinary delight - tender, juicy and refined with salt. The mixed salad in advance was fresh and the ideal complement to the main course. And the dessert, merinque with double cream, strawberries and raspberries, was super delicious. The combination of sweet fruit and airy merinque was to die for. Added to this was the very friendly and attentive service and the cozy atmosphere that made our evening perfect. I can highly recommend the Auberge de la Halle restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!”

I have had the opportunity to go to this restaurant several times and it never disappoints me 🥰 We always return to where they treat us well and we like the things 🫶🏽 They have typical food, what I generally order is raclette, delicious 🤤 you can eat as much as you want without being seen strange 😅. Last time I tried the fondue, equally delicious, worthy of Fribourg. And don't leave without trying the double cream meringues!! Super rich 🥰 And relax because if you are not a fan of cheese, they have more options.

Very tasty traditional Swiss food. Hearty after a good hike in the mountains. The sauces and soups were excellent. The view of the mountains was an added bonus.

Food is really delicious, and with that I mean not only the raclette which is easy to make I had the stuffed morilles mushrooms with veal and fries and the sauce with the veal stuffed mushrooms was divine, the fries also Interior is very authentic and lovely view

I went to eat 2 days in a row, the first evening I ate a very good raclette, so I returned the next day for lunch roestis bacon onions also very good. Very friendly staff, I would happily return

The Chanterelle and Provencal fondues we shared for lunch at Auberge de la Halle were the highlight of a wonderful day at Gruyere, with their rich flavours and generous servings of potatoes and accompanying pickles. The tarte we shared for sweet was also delicious. Service was very warm, friendly and efficient and pricing is very reasonable for such quality. Highly recommended.

Located in a truly beautiful medieval village, close to the castle. We had rachlette and rösti and they were delicious. The interior atmosphere was very cozy and festive and the service was great. Highly recommended!

The food was really not tasty and low quality, my husband got sick after we had a cheese fondue and a plate of charcuterie and salad, i am really disappointed

Best fondue we ever had! Delicious food, great service and nice afternoon with friends. When you book make sure you ask for a table with view. Views from the restaurant are scenic and overlook the whole region. Enjoy!

Friday 20 October at 7.30pm was the only restaurant that allowed us to dine (there were 5 of us) without having a reservation (consider that we had arrived at 7pm). It was a very pleasant surprise. Excellent restaurant and good prices.

We were advised by someone from the region, the waitress wasn't very nice, and they don't know what iced coffee is. The fade wasn't bad.

It's a shame that we can't give 6 stars as it would be a deserved quality of fondue that we hoped for the same for the charcuterie. And the view...exceptional

We thouroughly enjoyed our lunch . The roast beef was excellent, the raclette was superb. Apparently not every restaurant served it this way. Many served it on a plate. This is the best way to eat it, melted cheese on warm potatoes. Would have come back for it again.

This is our 5th night in Switzerland and 3rd (and last) in Gruyeres and overall this was the best meal - the service was excellent, the food was top notch, and the menu was varied while keeping strong to what you're here for. One recommendation is to get the Morilles Farcies (morel mushrooms stuffed with veal with a delightful cream sauce). My wife and I don't normally eat veal but made an exception for a cordon Bleu in Geneva (which was very meh) and this which was sublime. We split that and a raclette which left us with just enough room for desert.

I had the pleasure of dining with family at this inn last week and I am still under the spell of this quality experience. Period decoration, a warm welcome from the team, a varied menu and delicious cuisine. However, what really made this restaurant stand out was ELAINE's exceptional service. She was extremely kind and attentive. His professionalism and above-standard level of conciliation helped make our experience even more special. If I could give it five stars I would without hesitation as it truly added a unique dimension to our experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy exquisite cuisine while being treated like a distinguished guest. A five-star experience on every level!

Nice hostel where we ate "of course" a half and half fondue. It was of good quality and in sufficient quantity. One star less for the "high" price. 130€ for four (drinks, main course) and without dessert. Otherwise decor and view of the mountains to remember

We chose the truffle fondue, and I wouldn’t be afraid to say that it’s probably the best fondue I’ve eaten in my life! The dose of truffle was managed to perfection, not too much, not less, just perfect. The side potatoes were also delicious. The quantities are more than satisfying. The only negative point (very quickly resolved) is perhaps that the servers do not automatically offer pepper. When you are seated on the terrace, the waiters do not come by often, so it is more difficult to ask. BUT, we quickly gave up on pepper when we tasted the fondue, which was perfectly seasoned. In addition, the service was pleasant, responsive, barely 7-8 minutes for our fondue to arrive, even with many other place settings in the restaurant. The prices are very representative of the quality of the dishes and the house. We will come back!

Typical tourist restaurant. Quality of the food below average. Kitchen totally inflexible. Although there are hardly any guests, it is not possible to change a side dish, for example. Just as it is on the map. The many flies in the restaurant were also annoying. No recommendation.

Elaine treated us wonderfully. The food was exquisite, with wonderful views of the central square of Gruyeres. The restaurant is somewhat hidden, but it is much more worth it than other options in the same square. We will be back. Thanks Elaine!

A good restaurant in La Gruyère, my girlfriend and I ate the herb fondue together, I found it very tasty 😋 my girlfriend not so much, definitely a matter of taste. For dessert there was meringue with a very tasty cream, which is a traditional dessert from the region. The service spoke French, but it wasn't a problem for me, as it's also in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.

We had a great dinner here on the terrace. Raclette and rosti were very good. Dessert are suggested as well.

The Halles inn. It is a traditional Swiss restaurant located in the center of the village of Gruyère. This restaurant is located inside a village house. Double terraces. It is above all a place certainly full of tourists. Cheese melts. Traditional decor, wooden tables and chairs. Heat. You have to taste the Gruyère cream inside its chocolate bowl.

Passing through Switzerland, we stopped in the very beautiful village of Gruyères and ate in this inn. A real treat for our stomach. We loved their Roestis. The gourmet coffee is also delicious 😋. I highly recommend 👍😉

We really like this inn, we eat very well there. Very good fondue and relaxed atmosphere. You might expect it to be a tourist hangout, but not at all. I recommend the mushroom fondue which is really excellent!! I recommend this establishment with pleasure.

Excellent raclette! The place is charming and the staff very nice (young lady speaking Spanish and the other blonde lady speaking Portuguese). I recommend this place for a cozy moment around a raclette or fondue. On the other hand, too bad for the price of the simple plate of dried meat at 25.-.
