Bäckerei Arnet in Baden

Today I'm at Beck Arnet GmbH Bakery - Pastry Shop - Traiteur and I bought a fondue bread and also a vitality bread there and the saleswoman 👩‍💼 was also very friendly 😊 with me and I really appreciate that. I would like to go shopping there again.

Excellent fresh bread. In addition to almond croissants and other delicacies, there are also chilled cakes in the fridge. Small, fine shop with always friendly service.

Good and mostly fresh products in and of themselves. But it's better not to have a sandwich than one from the day before. Dry Weggli with tarnished meat loaf doesn't taste that great, nor does dry baguette with dried tuna. And no, it's definitely not the fault of the refrigerated display case. I think I know enough about the art of baking to say that these things are from the day before. Certainly still edible and too good to throw away, but an information to the customer would be appropriate. By the way, other bakeries do this too.

1/5 because around 50% of my visits were a negative experience such as: - The saleswoman doesn't ask if I want anything else (it feels like every other croissant is a hassle) - I was yelled at once, but that was about 2 years ago. I don't remember exactly why, but I'm always a neutral/friendly customer - Waiting area too small - Unmotivated / unfriendly staff

My heart bled when I walked today to Ämtlerstrasse in Zurich just to learn that Arnet's bakery was taken over by another baker. Will miss the hand-rolled croissants as well as the Florentinergipfel which were both my favourites... I may give the new one a try, but Arnet was the best as far as I am concerned... So now they remain only in Argovia and yet another excellent baker (previously Gnädinger sold his enterprise to Buchmann) leaves Zurich for good... Now the quest for good croissants starts all over... :-(

The bread is very good. Nice service. I recently discovered a bread with hazelnuts. Very fine.

Small but nice with nice staff.

After a long bike ride to Baden, the olive bread was a transcendant addition to our lunch snack. And the Bananenkuchen, a slice of the best banana cream pie we had ever tasted. (The inner crust coating of chocolate was a functionally delicious anti-sog agent.) Finally, the Aepfeltasche was no less amazing than anything else - it was hard to resist indulging in it immediately, instead of after all the stairs getting up to the castle. But totally worth it!! We'll totally be back here the next time we're in town!!!
