Bäckerei Schwyter in St. Gallen

Dear Schwyter team, I wanted to look at the opening times for Easter today. And I have to say, or ask you to put a magnifying glass on the piece of paper. Otherwise, men and women will hardly be able to decipher it. I don't see badly, but today I felt like a blind chicken in front of the door

This bakery never learns. High prices, poor quality. Better breadcrumbs from lunchtime onwards. Better Füger or Kuhn. You can taste the quality and that it is handmade

Schwyter is a well known bakery, one i have been frequenting since the 90's. A year ago i commented already, which I observe was pre-renovation. Now, renovations are completed, yet the same issues persist. The Mgmt's differentiation of the handling processes for take away and dine in, strains the staff's comunication and certainly confuses (new) customers. It furthermore is the reason for major delays, and revenue-loss* for the Mgmt. Being served re-heatet croissants (2.60 /pcs) on a Sunday-morning in a speciality bakery is high risk behaviour, or a sign that the bakers are not in controll of inventory. BTW: the crust of a croissant crumbles differently when re-heated. I ate both of them coz they taste good and i had a milkcaffee to assist during the dry spots. The serving staff was very polite. Here some unsolicited advise: 1)Label your products displayed on the counter in German & English. 2*)invest in "orderman" or similar so that your staff taking care of seated guests can order on the go. 2a*)invest in a remote printer where bills can be printed, located closer to the tables, also in view of summer outside seating. 3) have a person just handle "dining in" orders, and 4) train the staff to work with trays So why the low rating on atmosphere? While i was waiting to catch the attention of the table serving staff, because i wanted to pay, i could feel the irritation of the guest on the next table, who, after having given his entire order at the counter has been told to sit down on a table and then do the same thing again, despite not knowing the items names, as him and his wife are spanish speaking. I also felt the impatience of the customers on the other adjacent table, who wanted to pay too (they came after us*)

After 21 years, it was wonderful to visit my former employer again with coffee and croissants, where I worked as catering manager.

Friendly staff and very accommodating. But the prices for the sandwiches are far too high. Far too expensive and nothing special... a shame.

It's a shame the café has lost its quality, if you sit down outside you wait for service that doesn't come, if you want to get the drink yourself you are directed outside... even though the shop is empty... When I sat down again there was still no service, private conversation between both serving ladies took place... I drank my coffee somewhere else

A sick guest always guessed at my demise. I wouldn't go there anymore, otherwise he'd do the same to you

The service in the restaurant has decreased. You also have to pay at the buffet now.

Fine baked goods in the east of St. Gallen. Friendly service. Sunday sales are top.

Without having to wear a mask, I was warmly greeted and served. Super delicious rolls or cakes. I can only recommend an exclusive Ingvershot (very intensive). I always enjoy coming here.

Feels like the village bakery in the village where I come from. Friendly and consistent staff with good, high-quality offerings. Of course it costs something but if you want cheap you should go to the discounter! Of course, sometimes it can take longer, but I'm happy to accept that for attentive service! Keep it up Team Schwyter!

I thought vermicelle was great. The coffee didn't overpower me. To me it had an over-roasted taste.

Open until 7 p.m. And at 5 p.m. we were told that there was NO coffee, tea or hot Ovi because the machine had already been cleaned. I only know about cleaning the machines after the store closes. October 26th, 2020 in the Neudorf branch

Was in this branch at 9am this morning and asked for a dark sandwich with cheese. First I ask what I mean - after I explain “dark bread topped with cheese”, she sells me the only one available, with Gruyere. When I unpacked it earlier, I noticed that it was a completely white St Galler Bürli. Huh??? I don't know what I find worse: that they only offer white bread cheese sandwiches or that the lady doesn't know what dark bread is. Unfortunately, the potato salad I also bought doesn't do well either, huge, bland, sticky potato pieces in a tasteless sauce without pickles. You can really improve!

Was in this bakery for the first time on Tuesday morning July 7th. You won't hear a greeting, good morning, thank you or goodbye here. If you're looking for friendliness, you're in the wrong place here. A pity.
