Badalucci in Lugano

Last night we were pampered by Chef Marco Badalucci with a menu that was nothing short of divine! The welcoming and refined atmosphere of the Badalucci restaurant, the professionalism of Chiara and Matteo, as always, made our anniversary magical. Thank you very much and congratulations for everything ❤️

We have been frequenting this place for a few years. Every time we are surprised by the charm of the place, the elegance of the staff and the refinement of the food. Probably the best restaurant in Lugano, every franc spent is completely justified. Great research into flavours, raw materials and combinations. The menus will change soon.... we won't be able not to return. Super recommended.

The Badalucci restaurant in Lugano offers an extraordinary culinary experience. The dishes are true masterpieces, presented with impeccable care in plating. The recipes, refined and tasty, reflect the unique culinary skill of chef Marco Badalucci. Today in particular it exceeded all expectations with the bavette (vegan!!!), which also conquered a demanding palate like mine (a thousand food intolerances). An astonishing combination of flavors and impeccable presentation made the experience unforgettable. The service provided by Chiara makes the experience even more pleasant thanks to her preparation and above all her kind but at the same time light manners that make you feel at home. Without a doubt, this restaurant deserves a Michelin star for the excellence it brings to every course. (amuse-bouche, 6 types of homemade bread, starter - amberjack tartare with champignon mushroom carpaccio, katsoubushi and dashi, first course - bavetta with beetroot juice with raspberry vinegar, raisins and toasted almond mayonnaise, dessert - reinterpretation of the Sicilian cassata, small pastries, glass of Stephan Coquillette champagne, water and coffee)

What can I say: incredible! One of the best restaurants in Lugano if not the best. We enjoyed all the food, but we were particularly surprised by the liquid tortello... crazy!! The room? This one is also amazing with that romantic atmosphere. We will definitely be back soon

At the Badalucci Taste of Art Restaurant my wife and I had a magnificent gastronomic experience in an environment of refined elegance. Chef Marco Badalucci impressed us with his high-class cuisine, rich in technique and content, made with the heart. A magnificent breath of authentic Southern Italy in an unexpected location! We drank divinely, with a pairing of wines of great depth.

Every time I return to Ticino it is a joy and a unique experience to have lunch in this refined restaurant. Marco and all his staff give their best! The food is nothing short of sublime and the service absolutely impeccable. Simply thank you Marco for your commitment and professionalism.

Amazing restaurant, the best in Lugano. We have been here many times and we keep going back. We enjoyed all the food but in particular the “Bavette beetroot, with raspberry vinegar and almond mayonnaise. We will be back for more.

Superlative quality..., Chef Marco always knows perfectly where to put his hands and make everything wonderfully and humanely perfect. Going to eat at Marco also means experiencing a gastronomic reality out of the ordinary, an experience that only two or three restaurants in Ticino are able to offer you.

I was in this restaurant with my company in June and I would say everything was excellent. Chef Marco Badalucci, owner of the restaurant, showed up at our table after we finished dinner. Very kind like all the staff. We will definitely return.

Definitely a perfect combination of sobriety, elegance, excellent service and quality dishes. Literally pampered by the staff, always available for explanations, help and anything else. Very good product quality and well valued. Perhaps too classic for some, but refinement pushed to the extreme is useless. A round of applause to the whole team.

For me it is not the Badalucci restaurant taste of art. For me it's going to Marco's house and being delighted by his works of art. I have been chasing Marco since 2014 and never, I say never, have I left the restaurant without being super satisfied. I don't have to choose the courses because Marco knows how to satisfy the palates of his friends, and I think I consider myself as such, without having to ask for anything; his mastery reigns supreme. The location is well-kept, super elegant, magnificent crockery. The courses were excellent, particular combinations with the perfect balance of each ingredient. Thanks for the special evening to Marco and Matteo.

Had read a lot of reviews on this restaurant being amazing ( I think all are fake ) and it being Michelin and stuff but sadly VERY disappointed. .The food is not at all good . Not tasty . Not up to the mark . Forget value for money , it’s like some wanna - be fine dining restaurant . Staff is lovely but food is just not worth it . Sorry . 🙏🏼

Best restaurant in Lugano, as simple as that. We often come back to this gem of a restaurant and every time we are surprised and amazed by the food and attentive service. The place is truly a work of art, it feels like being in a beautiful lively museum with amazing people around you and the most delicious dishes. The chef is always on hand to talk to guests and tell about his background and his lovely new dishes. Thank you Marco and the team to make us feel at home, we always very much look forward to returning every time we are in Lugano!

EXPERIENCE TO FORGET! We went to this restaurant based on the several positive reviews we read here on TripAdvisor but we were extremely disappointed. First of all, the room with rough plaster walls and furnishings of questionable taste. Service is provided by haughty waiters posing as owners. Description of fine dining foods which then turn out to be bland, tasteless and plated in a very standard way and certainly far from the many photos published by the restaurant's management. When you need something, the waiters all pretend not to see you and wait forever to order anything. Before writing this review, I also looked at all the photos published on TripAdvisor and noticed that the majority were published by the restaurant itself... A few words for the connoisseur!

We took the 5 courses chosen by the chef, party of two. They took into consideration our allergies and each preferences and surprised us with a nice meal and atomespher. Tasty and superp presentation, experience, and service.

We dined at Badalucci our second night in Lugano, and were incredibly impressed by the personable + friendly service, outstanding food, and tranquil atmosphere. The amuse-bouche trio to start was fabulous - there was a multitude of flavors packed into a each tiny bite! The standout had to be the small tomato sphere which was covered in a crystallized sugar. The bread service was delicious and had something for everyone, whether it was a classic crusty baguette or a blackened brioche roll. My langoustine appetizer was light, fresh, and flavorful. No complaints! Myself and my parents all opted for the special of the night for our main, which was blue lobster from the Mediterranean sea accompanied with homemade pasta - in a word, phenomenal. The lobster was perfectly sweet, the pasta was cooked to perfection (al denté) and the flavor from the sauce was spectacular. Accompanied with the delicious food was the incredibly kind service! The staff emulated the perfect balance between checking in and giving us space, and were overall lovely. Another highlight was the jugs that the restaurant used for water, they were truly pieces of art! If you decide to go to only one fine dining/ Michelin restaurant in Lugano, I would recommend Badalucci above all others!

I went the first time here almost two years ago. I remember having amazing food, amazing wine and amazing service. Today I decided to return. And it was a great idea. Nothing changed, everything is still amazing, I had again a great time. I will for sure return.

We are in Lugano, easy to reach restaurant, excellent directions. Paid parking nearby. You have to book. There are also covered tables outside. Ok for disabled people and wheelchairs. Toilet present. Possibility to pay by credit card and debit card. High costs and adequate for the service and products offered. Having said that, a polite and friendly welcome, an elegant location, you come here to have an experience! Lunch with wife and friends, pampered and accompanied on a culinary journey. We let ourselves be advised by the staff, we received a friendly greeting from the chef... beautiful day. Here the stars and the guides don't matter, there's no point in taking photos or describing the menu. Here you book, take a seat and go... I'll be back for sure.

Wonderful qualities, produce surprise of the composition of the dishes

Restaurant located in the city center, well looked after down to the last detail, highly trained staff attentive to every single detail, a big thank you to Chiara for her welcome and Fiorenzo for his refined selection of wines... We went here for the dog with the aim of trying a high-standing culinary experience and celebrating a personal milestone. Goal more than achieved! We chose the 5-course tasting chosen by the chef with three wines to pair recommended by the staff. Fantastic experience not only given by the delicious dishes, but also by the friendliness and kindness of the staff who accompanied us along the entire journey.

I can say that this was not a lunch but a wonderful experience. We chose the "chef's surprise" menu with 5 courses, what can I say... extraordinary dishes. very well thought out and very particular combinations with a combination of truly excellent flavours. Each course is a surprise and an explosion of taste. Extremely courteous and knowledgeable staff, which makes everything even more special. Definitely highly recommended, I can safely say that it was one of the best restaurants I have ever tried in my life. (obviously it's starred!)

The bar opposite the restaurant is original, the location by the stream is special and cozy. The mojito for CHF 12.00 is ridiculous, the no-name red wine for CHF 12.00 by the glass is massively overpriced!!! The toilets are horror!

We have been celebrating my wife's birthday in this fantastic restaurant for two years, which is suitable for celebrating important events. Excellent product quality (we recommend the Royal crudité plateau). Impeccable service. Staff always available and attentive, even when the restaurant is full. The tasting menu is absolutely worth trying, accompanied by the large choice of homemade bread. In my opinion, the price is in line with the quality and service offered.

Top class. Even after quarantine, service and food are still at the highest level. The hosts remember their guests and are friendly and accommodating. The wine was always cold and filled, drinks and dish advice were on point and the bar's selection is definitely impressive. The ambience and atmosphere are great. Solid, non-disturbing music in the background in a fine but friendly furnishing style. The food is amazing. Even the bread is a highlight. From the greeting from the kitchen to the dessert, everything is perfect here. Arrangement, palette, selection... everything was great. We'll definitely be back!

Uncertain opinion for this beautiful restaurant and in the end the positive factors prevail: very fresh raw materials, some excellent dishes, precise and professional service with a very kind girl, competent and knowledgeable sommelier. The negative notes are a spaghetti that is more frozen than cold and is not even very original; the bill was excessively high, even though we are in Switzerland and the prices are correctly displayed on the menu at the entrance. Positive judgment also prevails to encourage a young and promising chef, who nevertheless knows what he is doing.

As expected the place was fantastic. The staff was very nice and always kept an eye on us to make sure everything was perfect. The food was close to perfection. A delicate explosion of flavors. We had a blast thank you to the entire team for that. The only downside, but not enough to lose a star especially as we were not by the sea, was the freshness of the raw seafood.

This restaurant is superb. The food is outstanding and very enjoyable to eat. The staff are very friendly and worked wonderfully together to serve the food beautifully and elegantly. Un posto a dir poco spettacolare, la cura e l'attenzione da parte del personale è davvero sorprendente, sommelier simpatico, preparatissimo ed un ottimo consigliere, come ciliegina sulla torta si è accorto che avevo il telefono scarico e mi ha chiesto se volevo farlo caricare (piccoli gesti, ma molto apprezzati). Dalla capo sala al resto del personale il voto minimo e 10, tutti molto bravi. Abbiamo preso il menù degustazione, i piatti superlativi, riuscivi a distinguere ogni singolo ingrediente, complimenti allo Chef. Grazie anche per la gradita sorpresa per il nostro anniversario!! Inutile dire che lo consiglio a tutti e che sicuramente faremo ritorno. Bravi a tutti.

A Lugano per lavoro dei colleghi ci consigliano questo ristorante. Location interna che incute timore pensando al conto che verra'... con una bella terrazza esterna. E' stata un esperienza sensoriale di altissimo livello con pescato di prima scelta dai veri sapori del mare. Si percepisce fin da subito la fantasiosa maestria dello chef nell' elaborazione delle pietanze. Il servizio di sala e' cortese con piccole sbavature...facilmente rimediabili(servizio/vino) Carta vini importante di livello superiore anche nei ricarichi ( ma siamo in Svizzera).. detto cio' il massimo punteggio e' strameritato per la passione che lo staff sala/cucina mette a disposizione della propria clientela.Conto finale in 2 con bevande incluse sui 150/170fr. Ben spesi! Consigliato.

Nous sommes allés dîner dans ce restaurant et avons reçu un service extraordinaire. Aussi la nourriture était excellente avec des prix élevés mais qui étaient justifiés par un service vraiment génial et une qualité de plats très bonne. Suite à cette première soirée magique, nous décidons d’y retourner dîner et là grosse déception, service très désorganisé et aucune attention... les plats bons et raffinés mais le service désastreux surtout en comparaison de l’excellente expérience de notre visite de la veille! Dommage!

É il mio ristorante preferito a lugano. Qualità prezzo eccellente qualità prima fresca e squisita. Ne vale veramente la pena perché vi garantisco che sarà una esperienza indimenticabile.

Nous avons pris à l emporter un plateau royal (fruits de mer et poissons) tout était extrêmement frais et délicieux!Nous nous sommes tellement régalées que nous avons réservé le repas pour le lendemain soir!Je n ai qu’un mot extraordinaire:Nous avons pris des pâtes paccheri all’astice blu del mediterraneo + capretto al forno con patate.C était un repas de Pâques magnifique.Il nous reste qu’à goûter notre dessert milles feuilles aux fruits des bois fait maison !!!

SAPORI FANTASTICI! Lo chef é in grado di creare un mix di ingredienti che al palato risultano unici anche nella loro semplicità. Abbiamo preso un take away. Come antipasto il plateau di pesce crudo dove abbiamo potuto notare l’altissima qualità della materia prima. Come primo i ravioli di mortadella ticinese accompagnati con una bisque di scambi e scampi scottati. Un primo davvero speciale. Una combinazione davvero apprezzata! Abbiamo concluso con maialino da latte cotto a bassa temperatura con puree di patate. Siamo stati consigliati dallo chef su cosa prendere e pur non essendo un amante io stessa del maiale sono rimasta davvero soddisfatta! Non vedo l’ora di poter andare al ristorante quando sarà possibile la riapertura per provare altri piatti!

TAKE AWEY ESPLOSIVO! Abbiamo organizzato un asporto al ristorante badalucci, sapendo già che era uno dei migliori in lugano, ho deciso di ordinare per il mio compleanno un take awey, precisamente abbiamo creato insieme allo chef badalucci una sorta di piccolo menu composto da antipasto,primo,secondo e dessert. Come antipasto non potevamo non prendere il plateau di crudo, che come sempre è super fresco e abbondante! Poi abbiamo continuato con un pacchero all'astice delizioso e un branzino al forno con carciofi e patate che inutile dirlo ma ESPLOSIVO! Come dessert abbiamo optato una millefoglie con frutti di bosco e crema che era la fine del mondo! FORTEMENTE CONSIGLIATO E ASSOLUTAMENTE DA PROVAREEEEE!!!! Non vedo l'ora che riapra per godermi una serata magari con un menu degustazione!

Sono stata da loro prima della chiusura dei ristoranti e ho fatto il percorso degustazione da 4 portate che comprendeva millefoglie di spigola, raviolo di mortadella ticonesi con salsa di scampi, rivisitazione cassata siciliana.. TUTTO DELIZIOSO! Non vedo l'ora di tornarci.. un plauso anche al servizio.. IMPECCABILE!

Abbiamo pranzato una delle ultime domeniche prima della chiusura e siamo rimasti sorpresi dalla qualità dei prodotti che lo Chef propone, un servizio di sala molto preciso ed attento. Non contenti abbiamo provato anche un take-away, inutile dire che tutte le aspettative sono state superate. Vivamente consigliato, ci rivedremo non appena sarà possibile!

If you want a master chef to dish you up the freshest ingredients with perfect cooking techniques that he combines with some novel touches, so that it all fits together as a gourmet experience, then Lugano provides it at Badalucci's.Their exceptionally high standard can only be achieved because the chef has an intuitive understanding and the skill to make the days freshly selected ingredients explode with every nuance of their subtle and blatant flavours. Sometimes, it also takes courage for a chef to do almost nothing except present well when the fresh flavours of the food should not be diminished by anything at all. The Royal seafood platter at Badaluccis is the perfect example of this. Only the freshest of fresh seafood is included in this well-balanced and wide-ranging array. When it is on the menu we do not even look at the rest of the delights offered because this platter is a superb experience.We travel the world on our stomachs and there are only a few restaurants that we hit the repeat button on as often as we can – Badalucci’s is one of them. The service is always excellent, with a proper balance between focussed attention and allowing patrons to embrace the occasion without unwanted intrusions. The wine list is perfectly acceptable and reasonably priced for a restaurant like this.The décor is a bit understated, but we go for the food and are soon within our own world that hardly notices what is going on around us.Perhaps it needs to be said during these trying times, that out of all the restaurants we patronise in Lugano, Badaluccis heads the list of those we are prepared to go to during this crisis period because it is clear they cannot do better with protecting everyone and that they take the virus threat very seriously.Bon appetit, from R & J.

I had a wonderful fish gourmet experience at Badalucci. I had the 5- course tasting menu and I would highlight the sea bass millefeuille and the mushroom cappuccino. Amazing combination of flavors! The service was impeccable and very friendly. The wine selection was beautiful. The decor lovely, especially the Massimo Lunardon glassware. Totally recommended!
