I stumbled upon this hotel by a slight oversight while searching for accommodations in or near Interlaken. Despite my initial booking mishap, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional experience it offered. Exceptional value for the price. Delicious breakfast with a variety of options to choose from. Breathtaking views of the snowy mountains from the windows. Impeccable rooms that were spacious, clean, and truly impressive. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding amenities, beautiful surroundings, and overall value. Just be mindful of transportation logistics if you plan to explore Interlaken late into the evening. The only drawback is its distance from Interlaken, requiring a bus ride, with the last service departing at 6pm. If you miss it you have to take Taxi which itself can cost more than you stay :(

Beautiful place. For the landscape, it was worth it. Our check-in was horrible, there was no one to welcome us at 5pm, everything was done over the phone, the mattress and pillow need to be improved. But for the price, the scenery was worth it.

Our stay was a disaster. The staff didn't speak a word of German. Mr. Tanner was extremely rude, arrogant and incompetent. The rooms were dirty, plus cobwebs on the ceiling. Price performance totally overpriced. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, I would advise against it!!! There were no instructions for the whirlpool either. The whole stay wasn't nice.

The pools outside are very comfortable and only visually represent a slight contrast in style.

It is a beautiful holiday resort, perfect for family, friends or with your partner. It is romantic and luxurious. You also have a beautiful view and can explore the mountains all around. The food is also very well made, I particularly enjoyed the meat burger. However, I didn't really like the salad because the sauce was very monotonous. We booked this hotel with our family and when we arrived the hotel there was no private shower and toilets. I understand I booked budget rooms but I didn’t realise it was sharing toilet bathrooms anyway I called the owner and he was really rude ‘he said if you don’t like it go somewhere else ‘ in the middle of night bad costumer service I wouldn’t recommend this place.stuff was nice to be honest.

We chose this hotel because of the great pictures and the private whirlpool. The service beforehand was nice and friendly. First of all, the whirlpool was our highlight, there's nothing more to say about it, it was great. Our room was relatively large, with a hallway adjoining the bedroom and bathroom. The first wow impression quickly disappeared when we first discovered cobwebs in the corners of the room. The shower cubicle, which shone in the most beautiful black at the bottom, together with the squeaky bed, was not what we expected for the price. Breakfast was also just ok, no selection of bread just one type. OK for one night, but we won't be coming back.

The hotel is old, the bedrooms are still ok but the bathrooms... catastrophe. Internet and telephone very difficult. Absolutely wrong is the price list for services that are simply included elsewhere...e.g. Fresh terry cloth laundry costs 30.00 francs to charge an e-bike. etc...Cleanliness, well everything is old and dusty and the bathrooms are all NEW. Staff doesn't speak German...in the Bernese Oberland.

They offer "budget" rooms that are very dirty and uncomfortable. Dust in the room corners, yellowish bed covers, stains in the wall. Really not acceptable.

Let me first get out the good things. It is very nicely located, the breakfast was nice and the staff attending too. But that's where we have to take a good look at the room. I mistakenly booked a "budget room", which is in the last (fourth) floor, and you can tell that this was an afterthought to grab more cash. The fourth floor has 4 of these budget rooms with shared bathroom. That is fine, no problems there. The issue was the lack of cleaning both in the room and in the bathroom. As you can see in the pictures, the floor of the room is full of dust in every available corner. Also, there were weird stains in the radiator and on the wall, I don't even wanna know what those are from. In the WC, all the area around the toilet was also pretty dirty (not the toilet itself though, but still). This is truly unacceptable in any hotel, more so in one with 3 stars. Also, the room door didn't even close properly, there was light from the hallway coming in. We booked the room for two nights but only stayed one before leaving due to the discomfort it presented. When speaking with the staff and presenting the pictures attached, they said they would speak with the owner. After a short while, the staff came back saying they cannot reimburse us the night we are not staying, and that we are leaving out of our own accord. I told the staff, okay, but tell the owner that a budget room doesn't imply a dirty place, those are not equivalent things. I hope they learn from this and no one has to endure such a dirty place there. I cannot recommend it with that attitude.

This place was very nice. If you are an avid hiker this is you paradise.. behind hotel Baeren lies 250 miles of lush land for hiking! Tip, bring a car for parking bc the only down side to this place is that it’s a 13 minute bus ride from the train station, and the buses run ounce every hour until about 5:30 pm. You’re a 20 minute train ride to Kandersteg, 10 minutes to Brienz, and 30 minutes to Interlaken. The food here was really good. Definitely recommend chef Constantin! Him and his wife do a fenomenal job with the restaurant, dinner here will not dissapoint! If you stay in this place try to reserve a room with a jacuzzi. It will be a great way to unwind after a long day in the mountains!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Great value for money, especially when you get a room with a hot tub. Hotel itself is charming, our room was quite spacious with a big terrace. Bathrooms were a bit dated fit the aesthetics of the place. It is a 2 star hotel, so there are not a lot of extras in the room, however we had all the essentials in pace. Hotel is located at the end of a quiet valley but it is quite easy to get to with a car. Village where the place is located is very small and does not have any place to eat other than hotel. Hotel restaurant closes at 8, so grab some food elsewhere, if you are arriving later than that.

The rooms look much better in the photo than they actually are. Insulation material would not be an unnecessary luxury, you can hear the neighbors loud and clear. Everything creaks and squeaks. The name historicals certainly lives up to its name! The shower is cramped and you can hardly dry yourself in it! The hotel service was special, you had to check in yourself, but anyone could pretend to be you... there is an envelope ready with your name and key, so you don't have to do anything else! Checking out was very unclear so we put the envelope back where we took it and went! The breakfast was quite reasonable for the price you paid. This hotel is located outside of all sightseeing spots. This place is very quiet! You definitely need a car to stay flexible. The hotel itself is only occupied in the morning between around 8 and 10 a.m. For inquiries about staff, this is only possible in the morning. The room was only cleaned once. We had to ask for towels and get toilet paper ourselves in the hallway. The breakfast was sufficient. The mattresses are separate, rather unsuitable for couples. But it was clean in the room. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location is perfect under 20/30min you can go to all of the near cities like Interlaken, Grindewald, Thun, 40min for Bern but if you don’t feel like it you can just stay in this little cozy place and have a nice walk, there are restaurants ( the hotel has an amazing one too) and there’s a little shop too.

Daher waren noch einige Renovierungsarbeiten im Gange. Wir haben das Deluxe Zimmer gebucht, und mit dem Hotel im Vorfeld eine Pauschale für Übernachtung und Halbpension abgemacht. Für uns hat war das absolut in Ordnung, kein Luxus, aber funktional und ein super Preis! Das Bett war bequem und das Nebenstüblein ideal für eine Spielrunde. Die Aussicht vom Balkon war wunderbar. Das Personal war höflich und gesprächig. Für Fehler hat mit sich aufrichtig entschuldigt, was wir sehr geschätzt haben. Das Essen war ok, da dürfte das Hotel noch etwas die Qualität erhöhen. Als Kaffeeliebhaber hätte ich mir auch dort mehr Qualität gewünscht, ich bin dann zur heissen Ovo am morgen gewechselt. Das Kiental ist sehr ruhig, genau was wir als Städter gesucht haben! Der Spaziergang entlang des Flusses war erholsam und mit schöner Aussicht. Wir hatten sogar das Glück einen Steinadler zu sichten. Wer es einfach, natürlich und ruhig mag, dem empfehlen wir das Kiental sehr.

Der Empfang war freundlich. Das Ziummer mit zwei Zimmer grosszügig. Das TV ist winzig. Es gibt nur 6 Programme wovon 3 nicht funktionieren. Das Frühstück ist gut uns ausreichend. Das Zimmer wurde währned des Aufenthalt nicht gereinigt. Die Betten waren bequem. Schön war auch der Balkon. Durch das Alter des Hotels ist alles etwas hellhörig. Die Umgebung ist ruhig. Allerdings gibt es in normalen zeiten(Nicht Corona) viele Tagesgäste mit dem Auto. Leider hat sich der Koch beim Abendessen nicht viel Mühe gegeben. Es schien alles aufgewärmt zu sein. Die Teller waren immer kalt. Das Fleisch trocken. Die Suppe zu salzig. Das Rösti war matschig wie Kartoffelstock. Es hatte nicht den Namen verdient. Ach war es nur lauwarm. Ein Tiramisu war schlecht.(Wenn schon Convinience, sollte man das Datum lesen). Auf kritik beim Essen wurde nicht wirklich reagiert. Leider hat das Abendessen einen schlechten Eindruck hinterlassen. Gerade in Corona-Zeiten sollte an sich doch mühe geben.

On a meme le droit a des petites sucreries dans notre chambre lors de notre arrivée. Une petite attention très appréciée, la chambre est très bien équipée et propre, la literie est vraiment très confortable. L’emplacement est idéal puisque l’hotel se situe a proximité du lac de Blaisee et de Kandersteg. Excellent rapport qualité prix je vous le recommande sans hésiter.
