Prices are high compared to Milan but in line with lake destinations in the north. Satisfying food. Truly top environment in the middle of a walk with a stunning lake view. I was struck by the kindness of the staff.

Unfortunately I didn't have a great experience in what I consider to be a truly enchanting location… Mediocre cuisine (I ordered a carbonara which was salty and sticky), very long waits, rude and visibly stressed staff. Truly a bad surprise... Place to avoid

The place is very nice, unfortunately the staff is very distracted, we waited more than half an hour to order 2 salads and two cocktails.. then we waited another good 30 minutes to receive the food.. the Caesar salads were not to our liking, the chicken smelled bad and the lettuce was not fresh. I was there in spring 2022 and it seemed much better.. they got so much worse.. what a shame

Unfortunately we waited almost 20 minutes to take an order which, unfortunately, never arrived. We were also rudely told to wait, which I would have done, but unfortunately there was no one in the room. Other tables gone, same problem. It's a shame because the place is wonderful

We're not there with the management, not enough staff (I don't doubt the work done, because they do what they can) but a bar that opens at 11 doesn't exist, then 12/31 closing in the evening and 1/1 closed it seems to me that they're going against the current. Sin! magnificent place, but run by incompetents.

Lovely place on the lake, unfortunately in recent months I have seen a deterioration in the management of this wonderful place. Excellent managers and excellent staff who I saw leave the place to go elsewhere, unacceptable opening and closing times. I hope that whoever manages these places takes matters into their own hands and makes Cala go back to the way it was a year ago. Let's value the staff more and not leave them alone in the dining room to serve an entire terrace. It's a shame to see such a beautiful place ruined like this! I'm waiting for an answer. Elena

I reserve online for 8.15pm, receiving confirmation of my reservation several times via email, I arrive with friends from Bellinzona, we go in, I approach the counter and the waitress already welcomes me rudely, questioning the time of my reservation, and pointing out which would have already closed at 9.15pm!!! Disappointed and still very disappointed, I turn on my heels and leave! WHAT RESTAURANT IS IT IF IT CLOSES AT 9.15 PM??? IT WOULD BE CORRECT TO UPDATE THE SITE FOR ONLINE RESERVATIONS …….LUCKILY I found another restaurant in BISSONE that treated us very well and where we ate equally well, …….. CALA MELIDE? Rejected

Great location with a splendid view of the lake. Unfortunately we didn’t get to have drinks here because we were ignored by the staff. After waiting for more than 10 minutes and saw that the other guests who came shortly before us already finished their drinks, I went to the counter and placed my orders. After another 10 minutes the staff brought drinks to other guests, starting to take new orders so we decided to leave this place.

Absolutely romantic right on the lake. Pavilion style, simple and very bright thanks to the large windows.

The Christmas decorations made the location even more evocative, which it already deserves in itself. Good food and impeccable service.

Beautiful bay next to Melide; there is a nice car park; after a nice walk with my dog ​​I had lunch on the veranda in the sun. Beautiful relaxing view. The dishes are well presented and the pinsa is also good.

This gem in Melide is right on the lake with a stunning view and offers delicious drinks and free peanuts. Unfortunately the mojito wasn't good (hence only 4 points) - but the 2 other drinks & Prosecco were great 😀 The service is very friendly. Parking spaces directly in front of the building.

We organized our wedding in this enchanting place, where the dream atmosphere and the food greatly appreciated by all the guests made it a perfect place for such an important day! A big thank you to the Cala Melide team (especially Luna and Micael), who with great professionalism and availability contributed to making this evening unique and unforgettable!

Very nice location on the lake shore with floating inflatables and a small swimming pool for children, and a dining area for umbrellas. I saw that there is a cash register for entry but I didn't stop to see the prices. We found it by chance using Google Maps under restaurants because we needed a stop for our tour. Considering that we are in Switzerland and everything costs double, I focus on the restaurant. It was Sunday 20 August, we booked on the way. There was no à la carte menu because it was a themed day. Grilled meat only. I must say excellent, cooked just right. We had 4 mixed grills. Each dish consisted of (3 ribs, 1 frankfurter, 2 sausages) with a side of salad, carrots, onion and cucumbers all on the same plate. Chips and kebabs were on the side. The sore point is the approximate service. We asked for 2 waters and only one type arrived, we had a side salad and they didn't bring the condiments, and my husband went to the kitchen window to ask, we try to have a coffee brought to the table but they don't consider us some waiters play with customers, perhaps historical ones, with water pistols. We decide to take it at the counter, we need cups and the barmaid leaves... and the sugar? Let's go look for it now. We pay 177 CHF and leave.

On our way to the Mediterranean and back, we had lunch and dinner here while our car was charging nearby. The restaurant is located right on the lake with fantastic views of the surrounding beautiful landscapes. Even without a reservation, the staff prepared a table for us. The food selection is good with large and small dishes, fresh salads and tasty pasta. The service is simple and efficient. We cannot confirm the bad service experiences of other guests. We are already looking forward to the next time! :)

Nice place by the lake but a little expensive and the service was a little long with the children.

I went with a friend for an aperitif. As soon as you arrived, the only free seat was outside with a table still to be cleared. We sat down, enjoying the beauty of the lake and chatting, we observed the only two waiters who served the tables without deigning us a greeting. After 20 minutes, my friend got up and went to order directly at the counter. It was funny to hear the waiter explain that they didn't serve food outside of the covered terrace. In fact we wanted to have an aperitif-dinner but not having the desire to enter the covered terrace because it was full of people and very noisy, I declined the dinner and the aperitif (which I had no longer wanted by now) and I ordered some water, while my friend orders a spritz which is served with some olives and some canapés. There was no way to change our minds about serving us something to eat. Then in the end we decided to change venue. Terrible welcome for those who want an apero, little vision of the people who wait a long time before ordering, next to us there was a couple who suggested we go to the counter to order, otherwise we would have waited longer. I think that despite the beauty of the place, we will never go there again.

We arrive at 7.15pm for an aperitif and they send us to the bartender outside who tells us "I don't know if I can give you a drink at 8.00 I'm closing, wait until I call"... What should we drink in 45 minutes, lake water? Meh…

The food was under-average, we ordered a decaf coffee and they gave us a normal one. Burgers weren’t tasty at all. The waiters were slow, and one of them spilled burger juice over my table. Panna cotta was okay. Nice view on the lake, but that’s it.

The Bola 12 Cocktail Lounge would actually be beautifully located on the lake and would have enormous potential to make both bathers and restaurant customers happy. Unfortunately, we find that this year, as in previous years, the service absolutely does not meet the expectations of a good restaurant. As a tourist you are ignored and have to make your presence known again and again after a long wait in order to be able to order something. There is clearly a lack of structure and organization, but also obviously a good restaurant management or a competent and present boss. Now that we've been annoyed by the very poor performance for the third time, we won't be coming back.

Yesterday I had lunch here with friends, everything was delicious, Micheal and Sandra were very attentive and ready to satisfy customer requests! They fly between the tables even when the place is packed. Splendid panorama. A place suitable for both intimate dinners and banquets, absolutely worth knowing! Location with a view of the lake, nothing short of idyllic! Staff always attentive and friendly! Excellent dishes for both lunch and dinner! Also ideal for aperitifs by the lake! In summer children can swim in the swimming pool adjacent to the restaurant and there is also the possibility of playing on the lawn and in the sandbox and for those who want to swim in the lake! It is scandalous to ruin the reputation of the previous management (of Baja), also using the positive reviews that the latter received.

First of all, and I give one star because it is not possible to give less than one. If it were possible I would have given less than zero. We reserved a table outside, when we arrived on site we had to change tables once due to a lady in a wheelchair, clearly this is not a problem because it is understandable. The fact is that after we moved inside, we were told by Micheal (and I mention the name because he himself told us to mention it in the review) that it is not possible to reserve tables outside. Also regarding this, there would have been no problem if this information had been reported on the phone when my friend reserved a table outside, so there was a communication problem within the staff. Furthermore, when we tried to communicate this to Micheal through dialogue he left and didn't even look at us anymore to deal with the communication in a peaceful manner. We were then taken to a table outside, and so far so good. Once we sat outside, no one asked us what we wanted to order for about twenty minutes, and then we were told that we would have to go in person to order at the counter. This wouldn't have been a problem either, if it had been communicated to us. When we had an aperitif, my friend's non-alcoholic drink was practically liquid water with perhaps (and I exaggerate, 10% juice or syrup), but even there, okay. In the chips that were given to us as an aperitif (also, a squalid aperitif, chips and some peanuts) we found a black hair inside the bowl (photo below). We reported it to the staff and they said, and I quote: “it will be the hair of a dog” and then it was changed. Once we got the second drink and more chips, we found another hair this time white. When we went to the counter to report it, the bartender laughed in our faces and said that it was "a hair from a rag", okay, but it is good manners to laugh in the customer's face and say that it is not a human hair but a dog's hair. a rag? And I add, is it still okay to have the hair of a rag inside the aperitif snacks? Once the aperitif was finished, we went to report everything again with the intention of making constructive criticism, but Micheal arrived saying "offer the ride to the girls" and we found it impolite as a way to to say "we offer it to you so the problem is clear" or at least, given that there was no possibility of having a constructive discussion and discussion about it, we interpreted it this way. Furthermore, there was no apology given regarding the service. After that, we talked to Micheal about it and he told us, again I quote verbatim "yes the bartenders in Lugano are better" and when my friend tried to have a live conversation he replied "I'm not interested" and said I find a sentence like this to a customer who wants to offer constructive criticism really not very polite and friendly on the part of the person offering the service. To another friend of mine, after she politely said that it was a shame that such a place had been ruined by unqualified management, she said the exact words "then you take care of managing it". Not to mention the fact that Micheal always tried to resolve everything by 1) running away from the situation (physically) and 2) through physical contact. That said, the waiting times were particularly long and the staff was not very friendly towards customers (especially Micheal, I would like to underline). It's a real shame as the place was truly wonderful and I've never felt bad before today, unfortunately I will never go back again because since the management changed it has become a truly squalid and not very credible place. I highly recommend having a staff meeting to resolve these issues because it can't work this way, I will never return to this place again.

Aperitif with friends, the place is only valid for the lake view. The staff was completely inattentive, unprepared, we ASKED for the menus and they brought us one in four, we had to ASK for the wine menu which we discovered was non-existent. It's embarrassing to have to ASK for the cost of the bottles, which they didn't even know. We were told that they would bring an aperitif dish, which clearly did not arrive, so we took some pinsas... considering that they were the only dishes that could be eaten outside. Luckily the company was there, but for the rest, starting from the management... completely to be reviewed. Never again.

The restaurant wasn't full, the waiter arrived immediately, good service, acceptable prices, a cozy evening.

Long waits. Service at the table by the waitress was poor and not at all welcoming. No appetizers at the aperitif time (non-alcoholic). Exorbitant price. Indecent toilets and dirty chairs/tables. The view of the lake isn't everything!

The wedding ceremony was celebrated on the pier and then tasting islands on the veranda for the standing dinner with various delicacies prepared by the excellent chef. Followed by delicious beetroot risotto! Order, cleanliness, effectiveness, kindness and professionalism of the staff coordinated by Luna and Michael made our "most beautiful" day unforgettable. The location is a pearl, logistically perfect. Parking available.

Friendly place and beautiful setting

We chose Cala Melide to celebrate the baptism of our puppy. Even though the weather didn't allow us to exploit the potential of the outside of the restaurant and the organization prior to the event was a bit chaotic, we had a great time. Hospitality, empathy, friendliness and availability characterized the service. A note of thanks to Michael who followed the preparation of our Baptism as if it were his own. The food was delicious and the portions generous; the TOP appetizer!

Aperitif. 1 bottle of Franciacorta and 1 bottle of water. 3 people. Account 88 francs. Appetizers 3 meatballs, chips, peanuts, 8 pieces of focaccia with cherry tomatoes. We didn't want anything special. But at least I expect that with 1 bottle there is something different and refined. The service is non-existent. Guys, not even in Italy they treat you like this. It's fine that it's a beach, but if I take a bottle I expect something more. And pay more attention to the customer, so that people come back. Thank you

A small bar almost on the lake's edge. Beautiful location that can also be enjoyed in winter thanks to the glass veranda that protects from the cold. Good service, the products offered are good and on average with those of the bars in the area. It seems very popular with families with children, probably thanks to the playground or football fields nearby.

Very welcoming place, cheerful and smiling staff. I found it to be a clean modern facility, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The structure is located on the lake front in the town of Melide, nearby there are numerous car parks and you can take splendid walks along the lake. Other tourist attractions are nearby. But if you want an excellent ice cream, cocktail, a good aperitif, go to CALA.

Taking the reviews of a previous management to deceive customers is shameful. Very high prices and nuvelle cuisine portions! For me it failed across the board

Low food quality, maybe the worst burger I ever ordered: served in a bun that is simply not edible, dry, supermarket-grade patty... and mighty expensive. Nuggets - tiny dish, and again - very expensive for what you get. Kids were unhappy with the food. Service was good, and the view was marvelous, hence the 3 stars and not just 1...

Beautiful location right on the lake. Only one toilet per gender is a bit too few for larger events. There are parking spaces right next door if you can find them. Nice service who even speaks a little German 😁

Beautiful atmosphere at the lake of Lugano. Good for an apero and to enjoy the sunset. Even the non alcoholic cocktails are well done. The pasta was good but not perfect. The taste was good but could be more special. Even when it was good something was missing to make it perfect. The people are very friendly and served us in a professional way.

No star would be more fitting. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food because we were rudely turned away because the restaurant was too full. Over half of the tables were empty - we just didn't look like enough money (me in a summer dress, my friend in shorts and sneakers). So it's better to come in a suit and evening dress if you want to eat there on plastic chairs ;)
