Baracca Zermatt in Kloten

Expected more from the Foundue there as it was recommend from a local (I think it need not old bread, but a fresh and crispy one and not so “wine” sour taste), but the place is nice and very cozy! 20 min. with train from Zurich to Kloten.

This place is beautiful. Atmosphere was romantic and cozy. I had my first experience with Raclette and it was delicious. I would recommend it more than the fondue. The service was top tier! I would come here again when I come visit.

4 and not 5 stars because we suffered from the heat (26*C) and in winter you certainly don't leave the house in a t-shirt. Another point that we didn't like was that the room was semi-empty and yet they placed us right behind a table occupied by 4 people, which was inexplicable for us. There is no question about the quality of the fondue: excellent. Finally, we didn't like the consistency of the vanilla cream accompanying the apple fritters

Everything excellent feels like we are really in Zermatt in that alpine environment. Excellent fondue, great wine and fantastic dessert. It's to be repeated.

Great and friendly service, they were very fast (even though they were completely booked out), very good cheese fondue. The interior is also very cozy. Highly recommended.

Top restaurant for fondues, cozy atmosphere and great ventilation (you don't smell like cheese afterwards). Fast and competent service.

Mega! The ambience is great and gluten-free is also possible (just inform beforehand - I got my own caquelon). What's also great compared to other fondue shops is that you can take different fondues and also try a different fondue when you reorder. Definite recommendation. Only the parking situation is a bit tricky.

Absolutely delicious place to try the traditional Swiss meal of fondue. Located right by the airport, this place was super nice and cozy with a warm fireplace right in the middle. Staff spoke a lot of English and assisted with ordering, will visit again!!

We've had our annual gathering with friends at this place. It was a place I wasn't aware of until that dinner. The interior looks totally cosy and welcoming. It had a beautiful fireplace in the centre of the restaurant which rounded up the cosiness. The food was okay to my taste as it is mainly focusing on fondue and raclette. The menu should be written a bit clearer to be honest. The staff on the other hand was very friendly and did its best to serve all customers during that evening. I liked their passion and commitment. They were very friendly and helpful. Would I recommend dining here? Definitely. The only thing is that it serves probably only during winter time and of course mainly fondue and raclette.

It's a shame that we (approx. 22 people) were seated at two narrow tables, despite making a reservation early. The space per person was far too small. The restaurant was only 1/3 full. Long tables were available and remained empty.

Rustic ski hut atmosphere and a good selection of fondue. If you are in Zurich and want to eat fondue, you should stop here. The parking spaces are not free but there are enough.

It was most likely fully booked when we were there in a group. It was very loud, warm, and the seating was tight, service was constantly running back and forth between the tables in the aisles, every time the chair shook. It was very annoying and I wouldn't go there again. When you order raclette there is an oven that runs on candles and is unfortunately heated from below.

Good food is served by a very professional team. The only small downside: it is very loud in the Baracca Zermatt.

The customer is king! Unfortunately not in this establishment. Here you are simply robbed as a guest. What is sold as “de luxe” turns out to be second-rate dishes that are comparable to frozen food. All of this is served by a waitress whose rudeness can hardly be surpassed by anyone. The communication is extremely uncomprehending and cold. What wasn't cold, however, was the restaurant itself. Here, the thick, oxygen-poor hot air threatened near-death. Unfortunately, what you ultimately pay is not transparent. You can also pay for the people sitting next to you at the table. The simplest mathematics needed to calculate individual costs seems to overwhelm the staff. Dividing the total cost by number of people seems to be the only thing possible. So you suddenly pay twice as much! If you want to sit next to your favorite work colleagues, that's unfortunately not possible either. You are only allowed to sit where you are placed. Of course, the evening is spiced up with a pinch of reproach and accusation. So if you would like to take a sauna and get ripped off: the Baracca Zermatt is perfect for that! In any case, I would like to thank you for the bitter aftertaste and look forward to never having to go back.

Very fine fondue gsi Friendly and recommended

While certainly a high price (for my taste) for food, my fondue was delicious and despite the the place has been packed the staff appeared effective, no long wait times, neither initial nor for food. Overall a great experience with the money spent.

I would like to give you some feedback on my recent visit to your restaurant. While I usually have positive experiences with you, I unfortunately have to report that my last visit on November 5th, 2023 was associated with some disappointments. Firstly, the potatoes served were not fully cooked, which significantly detracted from the enjoyment. Additionally, the cheese took an unusually long time to melt, which resulted in a delay in our meal. Another point that struck us was the lack of bread with the meat platter, which we consider to be an essential part of such a dish. Furthermore, the heating candles on our table were defective, which contributed to a less pleasant atmosphere. I hope that my feedback helps to improve the quality of your service, as I and my colleagues appreciate your establishment and would like to return. I would appreciate it if you addressed these issues internally and found solutions to avoid such incidents in the future.

Fondue so-so, service okay, atmosphere good. The fireplace gets a lot out of it. The Julen chairs are so uncomfortable. Don't forget the megaphone and set the hearing aid to "loud".

Cozy, like in a large alpine hut, but with a lot more space. Very good fondue, nice and attentive service.

Service needs improvement, even though you're just opening doors. Once it's your open time, you should be ready to offer 100% service instead of tables sitting attended for too long, far too long.

A small, chic restaurant that takes you directly to Zermatt. Very nicely decorated and run by great staff. The food is typically Swiss and consists of national products. Very good food and there is something for every taste. Can just be recommended.

Beautiful restaurant. Traditional fondue with potatoes and bread. Unfortunately we waited an hour for our sandwich and had to leave before receiving it. Service was scarce for smaller parties as larger groups took priority. Overall still a wonderful dinner.

The fondue didn't have enough flavor for me and the bread with it was very bad, mixed and even had sweet rolls... the tartare was average for me... but I could still give the shop another chance with the hope that the food would be better

If you are looking for a romantic and typical Swiss place to go without having to climb the mountains, you are in the right place. The moment you open the door it feels like you are in another world. The atmosphere is incredible, with the fireplace in the middle of the room, half light, wooden walls, rustic furniture and the fondue was perfect. Very friendly service, good price. And the detail of the bill coming in a treasure box with a Swiss chocolate imitating a snowy mountain, how cute!! That day the only thing missing was snow ;-) Super recommended restaurant, we will definitely be back.

A small oasis, a place to switch off, in the middle of the urban area. Very nice atmosphere, in summer as well as in winter. The food is the icing on the cake.

The burger was well prepared, but I wasn't impressed with the taste, it was good but I would have expected more for the price. But the service was good and so was the ambience.

Wonderful restaurant. Important detail, you might miss it since it’s located strategically to give a warm experience, but it’s hidden in a corner next to a park. Our taxi driver missed it, so we asked people around and we were directed perfectly to this fabulous place.

I enjoyed my maiden raclette dining experience involving different types of cheese that go with the bread and potato, along with the mixed cheese and dried meat pattern. The opfelchuechli as dessert was perfect end to the dining experience. The fireplace setup within the restaurant provides a cosy atmosphere for intimate conversations.

Unfortunately, the amazing fondues and the charming, homely atmosphere cannot forgive the poor service. We often come to Baracca Zermatt, but the site we saw today was new to us. The service (young lady with dark hair and glasses) was extremely disappointing and unfriendly and nothing compared to the nice, friendly waiter who usually serves us. She didn't make us feel welcome at all. Examples: After the first fondue (à discretion) they said: “What? How much more do you want to eat?!”, so we felt bad about ordering another round. She also refused the amount of cheese we requested and made irritating noises. Through her annoyed looks, the slamming of the caquelon on our table and the lack of hospitality, she made it clear to us that she did not enjoy doing her job at all. This resulted in us not leaving a tip and unfortunately making us question a future visit.

Nice restaurant and very comfortably furnished. Unfortunately just a bit loud. What really annoyed me is the price. Unfortunately I had a stomach ache and so we only ate 1 pot of fondue. A bill for two people for a small pot of fondue for CHF 90.00 is a disgrace. Then in the future I would rather buy the Gerber fondue at Migros or Coop and eat it at home. It's a pity.........

I ordered a set and a single item, but there were two sets written on the bilge, so when I asked about it, the server said he understood it as two sets ㅡㅡ 😑 Another server who didn't take my order asked me how many desserts I would like to eat in the set. I clearly only ordered one set, so it was just one dessert. Would you like two? I asked if this was why I had to pay more, and he said it didn't matter, so I ordered two, but the dessert fee was added. I was very embarrassed. I paid more than the expected order. A place where I open my eyes and learn.

Highly recommended restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice and you feel very comfortable. With the 3-course menu you certainly have enough to eat, almost too much (fondue chinoise).
