The quality of the food as well as the service were impeccable. Fresh and delicious. For me personally, chili was missing from my spare ribs. The fries get a 10/10. The portions are generous. But not recommended for a tight budget. For 4 people without wine, with salads as a starter and 2 desserts we came to 280.- Still happy again.

Nice country inn. There are currently many Bavarian dishes on the menu. However, the bear is known for its meat skewers (bear skewers, etc.).

Always a pleasure to go there, but not when it's full, because it's very noisy.

We came today for American breakfast. We really liked the staff and the very fine and varied buffet. The pastries and salty things are particularly recommended. A big compliment goes to the kitchen, which takes allergies very seriously, so that even allergy sufferers can enjoy this unforgettable brunch experience. We'd love to come back!

Everything is just right here. I dined here with a colleague this evening due to the good Google reviews and the great sounding menu. The reception was very friendly, all the service staff were great - but according to the receipt, dear Susi took great care of us. We decided on a combination of the pumpkin soup and the deer entrecote, a wine and the Bären house grappa rounded off the great evening. Thank you very much. We would like to come again. 👍🏻

Food (bear skewer) good. Unfortunately no vegetables included. Most dishes with mushrooms I don't like. Not enough fries for my appetite, er no twist potatoes. So reordered. Costs CHF 3.50 extra... given the prices, a refill shouldn't cost anything extra. 2 people, 2 drinks, 2 desserts for chf100. We only afford it once a year at most and it wasn't such a culinary highlight.

We drove from Franconia (Germany) to Lyss to visit our friends to eat the world-famous, legendary, bombastically delicious bear skewer. Recommendation 1000%!!! Keep it up, you're all great.

We came here at a Sunday on Mother's Day. The food was great. The Tartare unfortunately was not spicy at all, even after asking it to be made more spicy. But it still tasted good. Service was very nice, but a bit slow.

The bear is highly recommended. We had a tartare, a salad and a mango panna cotta. Everything was extremely tasty, the mango pannacotta was the best I've ever had. Nice and light, fruity and yet not too fruity - just perfect. They were very customer focused, friendly and dog friendly. The prices are very fair, we will definitely be back soon.

Today I was able to enjoy a sensational beef tartare and a mixed salad. I really enjoyed this and would highly recommend it. For dessert there was a mango pannacotta, which was the best pannacotta I've ever had. The service is very friendly and the prices are reasonable. The Gasthof Bären in Lyss is very dog-friendly. Very disappointed! Bear skewer was not raw and the service was unfriendly. Instead of taking us seriously as customers, we were “shattered” because we gave the food back to the kitchen. We were told that you have to tell the staff in advance if you want the pork fillet (in my opinion it wasn't a fillet) to be cooked through and not raw. However, the unfriendly service did not make us aware of this in advance. Never again and will definitely not recommend it to anyone!
