Good food, good service. Will consider the bear again. Had an excellent lunch today. Excellent again, this time the dinner. Ate well again, this time for lunch (03/28/2024). Very good, attentive service.

The German serving girl was very rude. Even though you could drink it outside, she blamed us for saying it was too cold for her and that she would get sick because she had to bring the coffee outside for us. Mind you, the sun was shining and the weather was almost spring-like.

I rate the restaurant in the inn. The food (main course venison and venison) was excellent (great tender meat), the Prosecco as an aperitif was very good and the Austrian red wine was incredibly good. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Our dog was kindly given water without asking. A very nice evening with very fine food - thank you, we'll be back!

Very friendly and courteous service staff. The food is diverse and culinary. But the portions are rather minimalist. Not quite worthy of value for money. Still worth a visit.

We find the food to be mediocre. The portions are rather small. The prices are too high for a country inn. Every ingredient like the chestnuts was missing from the game plate. When we asked, we were told that they had simply not been delivered.

The food is of a high standard, which of course you can feel in the price, but that's fine in my opinion! There's nothing to say about the food here, just TOP! Unfortunately, at this price and in this class in which the bear would like to play, I expect a much better service!! You wait forever (15-20 minutes) until someone decides to serve you. Even though the glasses and plates have been around for a long time... and not just once, but throughout the entire consumption period... if we hadn't always tried to contact the staff ourselves, we would still be sitting there today... it It wasn't due to understaffing etc. Simply no feeling for the customers. A lot of potential is wasted here...

Not bad service, but NO service. We waited in the garden restaurant for at least a quarter of an hour, the service employee walked past us without asking us about our order. We then set off again without consuming anything.

The first service was very nice and attentive. Ambience was very nice. The food was no better than other places. Very small portion of buttered spaetzli for the venison schnitzel (Fr. 49.00). The caramelized chestnuts were on the menu but were left out on the plate, for whatever reason. I ordered the dessert with cream, but it came without it. Probably charged anyway, I have no idea. Next time it would be better to go back to the Gasthof Schützen in Aarau to eat game. Considering that the restaurant is in a community, the prices are quite high

Very large portions, French fries had a spice that took some getting used to. Food came quickly. Went there with a group. Guest garden is relatively well separated from the street by the hedges.

We were there for lunch. I've been there twice before, but only for ice cream (very tasty and beautifully prepared). Sensational garden terrace. Consistently nice service. There is a lunch menu and a lunch menu. Something for everyone. I had fish and a really delicious nut salad. Always happy 💯👍🌸

After we ended up in the "wrong" bear on our first reservation, we promised to make up for what we had missed. We have now done that. We weren't disappointed. The tartare was excellent, the wine selection was very good and the service was very friendly and professional. We could still sit in the garden. The only thing that spoils the enjoyment is the constant traffic noise.

I've been to the Bären several times, at lunchtime and in the evening, and have never been disappointed. I made a reservation once, for the crime dinner, but otherwise I always got a place for 2-4 people. The menus (lunch and tasting menu) are highly recommended. The portion size is very well coordinated. You can always find the right accompaniment from the wine list. The cuisine is always accompanied by very courteous and friendly staff. On the way from eastern to western Switzerland or vice versa, the bear is worth a stop whenever possible.

I'm reviewing the restaurant, not the hotel. I almost gave it 5 stars, but given the level of quality and price it's only 4 stars. We sat outside and couldn't choose whether we wanted to sit inside. A few times a young pigeon almost flew into our faces. However, you positioned the parasols so that you sat in the shade, which was absolutely necessary. The food is really tasty and the quantity is also good, so that you not only have a delicious meal but also feel full. Only my wife's leaf lettuce wasn't run of the mill, but it was simply far too small for 8 CHF. The service was quick and attentive and very friendly. They made a mistake, but they recognized it themselves and since it was still ok for us, then it wasn't a big deal. And the bill was corrected without us having to say anything. Overall, a recommended location, even if there is still room for improvement in the overall experience.

Short stop at the restaurant for a small dessert. The quality of the food and the service was top notch.

Tasting menu Everything tasted great. Risotto with giant prawns was very good, as was the duck breast as the main course, although it was a bit small. Finally, the dessert, the yoghurt ice cream was not run of the mill but homemade and you could tell that, top👍🏻. The service was also very friendly.

The garden terrace looks very attractive until you meet the service lady. Rarely have I experienced such a cold, arrogant and condescending reception. As guests, we both felt that way. We lost our appetite and left the restaurant without consuming anything. The service lady then neither said goodbye nor wished you a nice day. First and last visit.

I was there yesterday with my best friend, we had the bear tasting menu with a choice of 3 to 5 courses, every single course was a poem. The first starter <beetroot carpaccio with sour cream, white asparagus and avocado with a tartare of artichokes and dried tomatoes> was balanced and every bite was an absolute taste experience. This course also included the <wild garlic cream soup> (without salmon dumplings) wonderfully creamy and delicately seasoned (which I personally find better because it gives me the opportunity as a guest to add some additional seasoning) with a little pepper and salt from the mill (both available on the table). sensational. The <Spaghettini with truffle cream> (without giant prawns) wonderfully creamy and just so delicious, I'm allergic to fish and seafood, so these two courses without the salmon dumplings and the giant prawns. The main course *pink fried beef fillet steak with orange hollondaise, Macaire potatoes, green and white asparagus* was a dream, the meat was tender as butter (I ordered it medium) and cooked to perfection. As a trained sausage and meat saleswoman, I am very sensitive to the quality of the meat and the preparation of it is a must-try. Everything was seasoned very harmoniously without being “over seasoned”, which in my opinion is the fine art of cooking. The bear dessert plate was a combination of various sweet dishes, it had tiramisu, chocolate mousse, a scoop of fruit sorbet (mixture of lime and tangerine) and a strawberry ragout and cream, each one in its own right... I'm slowly running out of superlatives here... <the absolutely appropriate conclusion to a wonderfully successful 5 course menu> I think it sums it up best. I would particularly like to mention the ambience I love when old (the house was built in 1777) is harmoniously combined with modern, in the corner there is still the old original tiled stove, the wall colors are very bright and friendly, the lighting is subtle and modern, we feel comfortable from the moment we arrive were led to the table by a super friendly, smiling waitress, the service was highly professional and yet relaxed throughout the evening, I LOVE the "upscale" cuisine when as a guest you can feel the chef's passion with every bite, unfortunately that's the case In many places there is a certain "stiffness" that goes along with it, that you get the feeling that you have to breathe more shallowly and you shouldn't even laugh, that's absolutely not the case here, there were 12 people in this room, there was talk, laughter and the mood was relaxed and not tense at all. I personally felt the need to write a detailed review because it was a really perfect evening for me. I am absolutely sure that I would like to do it again and can only warmly recommend it to everyone.

Easily accessible by car, large parking lot. The restaurant is very beautiful and lovingly designed. Great service and very tasty food. The prices for a main course are around 50.00 (no meat), which I find very reasonable. Can highly recommend the Alpine pikeperch.

The restaurant in Beren is located in the city of Köliken. We visited the restaurant yesterday; the restaurant has an open summer terrace. We only took drinks and sat in the lounge. The restaurant is very good, nice fast staff. For two drinks we paid 15 CHF there is car parking very fast accessible location 4 minutes from the central station in the city.

Unfortunately I can't judge the rooms, but they correspond to the rest. Then these will be perfect too

I had an overnight stay and dinner and breakfast. The food and service was excellent! We recommend the tartare and the nut salad. Rooms are spacious, comfortable mattresses and a renovated bathroom. All in all, I was very satisfied and would love to come back.

After a WONDERFUL Saturday, my husband was craving a good tartare and my son was already hungry early in the evening. So I wanted to treat you to this and we went to eat at Bären. I asked if I could have something from the children's menu because I wasn't really hungry. The employee told me no. So I ordered a salad. My husband asked if it wasn't possible to have a portion of nuggets or something from the small one. Order card. He ran away in a bad mood and answered well then I order a larger portion of nuggets...??!?!?? However, NO ONE ordered, just inquired. The "Chef de Service" neither responded to requests nor listened! To make matters worse, there's still a hair in the salad! The pretty salty bill at that! The great Saturday was over!! The guest should actually be king, because without guests the employee has no wages! It's a real shame, because the kitchen can still be so good if the service staff fails and vice versa!

The day before I reserved a table for two people for Saturday evening because I had visitors from Zurich who had traveled to Kölliken especially for dinner together. We showed up on time at the reserved time, but the staff had actually forgotten to enter the reservation and there was no space left. I wanted to show you my cell phone call history as proof of the reservation, but no one was interested. They then wanted to offer us a place in a deserted, noiseless hall on the upper floor, where we would have sat all alone and the waiters would probably have had to order to the table by phone. The staff did not consider any alternative, such as: B. whether and when a table would become available again at a later date. I live here in Kölliken and will definitely never visit this inn again or recommend it to anyone. It has never happened to me in my entire life that a reservation is simply forgotten. I am very upset.

Today I was there for lunch and very disappointed with the quality of the food. It's a shame about the excellent service. Menu: Pumpkin soup - tasteless, my wife, as a non-trained cook, cooks more interestingly and better Fachitas with vegetables - tasteless filling of corn, red beans, carrot cubes and green beans (not fresh vegetables) in tomato sauce. The fachitas were chewy and 5 strings of cheese on a spoonful of sour cream on top. Without decoration and taste. Simply loveless. Sorry, not worthy of the bear. Dessert. Some chocolate cake with coconut... Probably not homemade. For a menu price of 21.00 CHF, 75% was probably spent on the service. I'm sorry - I've eaten much better at Bären. Thanks for taking the criticism.

The Bären in Kölliken is a great place for fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Located in a historical building dating back to 1777, the restaurant has 13 Gault Millau points. The kitchen specializes in meat dishes, in particular beef tartare. The menu also includes seasonal dishes, local specialties, and vegetarian dishes. Large selection of desserts to choose from. Friendly and accommodating staff.
