Won't say anything for food as did not try it yet, but one of the best places in area to have a drink in a cozy, warm atmosphere.

👎🏾 unfortunately we received a very rude welcome! I wanted to ask something and he yelled at me and said I wasn't allowed in the bar, only outside was allowed! He didn't even want to know what I wanted! Just scream for us to get out! Very very rude! I work in sales myself and for us the customer is king! I will be a place like that. Never enter again and never recommend! Horror!!!

Wir waren heute Abend zu 3. im Restaurant Bauernhof in Rotkreuz zu Gast - wobei man sagen muss, dass das Wort „Gast“ in diesem Betrieb scheinbar nicht gross geschrieben wird.Zuerst wurden wir halbherzig begrüsst, dann wurde uns schnipisch gesagt, dass es keine Karte gibt, als ich keinen Alkohol bestellt habe wurde mir gesagt „ja du hast ja ein Bäuchlein, gäll“ (ich bin NICHT schwanger!) um nur wenige Beispiele während unseres Aufenthalts zu nennen.Der Gipfel war aber als wir zahlen wollten (weil wir da einfach nur noch raus wollten) uns gesagt wurde „warum habt ihr nicht gesagt, dass ihr nicht essen wollt? Jetzt müssen wir das Besteck abwaschen was nicht benutzt wurde.“Ich habe noch NIE eine solche Bewertung abgegeben, aber das heute darf nicht unerwähnt bleiben!Ich bin entsetzt.

Solche Geschäftsmänner sollte man auf keinen Fall unterstützen!!-Sehr arrogant und unfreundlich! -Vorsicht: Wenn ihr Flammkuchen zum Apero bekommt kann es gut sein dass dieser von anderen Leuten bestellt und nicht fertig gegessen worden ist und nun bei euch auf dem Teller gelandet ist! (möchtet ihr etwas essen das schon bei anderen Leuten auf dem Teller war?)-Essen und Getränke sind überteuert!-Kontrolliert immer das Datum vom Bier! Es kann gut sein das es über dem Datum ist! -Der Chef, James Zwitkoviz, bezahlt seinen Angestellten den Lohn nicht richtig aus und macht unzulässige Abzüge auf der Lohnabrechnung! ALSO: Finger weg und unterstützt Restaurants die es verdient haben zu überleben.Null Punkte wären für dieses Restaurant eher angebracht!

Great location, easy in and out. A bit noisy because of the volume of people and the acoustics of the architecture. Interesting mix of people watchers, working people, couples, etc. I will visit again.

Wir hatten einen Gutschein für ein Wienerschnitzel und wären vermutlich sonst nicht auf dieses Restaurant gekommen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Das Wiener Schnitzel war sehr lecker und auch die Vorspeise. Karte ist klein, aber ich empfinde dies als absoluten Vorteil. Sie haben auch spezielle Biere und nicht nur die 0815 Sorten. Wir kommen wieder...

Even though I was sitting at the door, I had a really good time. The person I was talking to was attractive, personable, out-of-the-box thinking and I would have liked to have stayed there longer. The herbal secret tea was better than the hot chocolate.

Inviting bistro with a small, exciting menu

Kurzer Besuch abends für einen Kaffee und ein Bier. Soweit ok, aber für das Tagesdessert (eine Kugel Eis ohne Rahm und kleine Portion Kaiserschmarn in der Grösse einer Eiskugel) wurden CHF 14.50 verlangt..... völlig überteuert und in dieser Form den Preis nie und nimmer Wert. Auf die Reklamation hin, das könne doch nicht ein korrekter Preis sein, wurde dann wohl wegen des schlechten Gewissens eine Reduktion auf CHF 12.90 gewährt. Auch das Schweizer Bier (3.3 dl) war mit CHF 6.80 zu teuer. Schade, da bieten die anderen Rotkreuzer Lokale mehr Qualität für einen besseren Preis.

Unlike some of the reviewers on here, I couldn’t find anything wrong with this bistro. After initial getting attention issues with the waiter which were solved quickly and from then onwards service was just excellent. The Wiener Schnitzel could have been a bit bigger - knowing the standards - but still good. Enjoyed my desert as well. They have a variety of different beers bottles and draft and a good wine card from what I could see. Crowd seemed to be mixed from welcoming locals to business people on their way through. I would surely go back.

Stylish atmosphere, cool gin selection

Ausserhalb der Essenszeiten fragte ich nach einer Zwischenverpflegung. Ich wurde sehr freundlich bedient und erhielt einen vorzüglichen, reichhaltigen "kalten Teller" mit Fleisch, Käse und frischem Brot.

Small but very nice bistro/restaurant. Friendly service, good food and a very large selection of drinks from beer to wine, gin and whiskey, everyone is guaranteed to find something they like and if not, James will help you find the right one. You will be warmly welcomed and served and can recommend it. There are also special offers such as: Wine tasting in your own wine cellar

Good points:- Food was edible (we had the thin crust pizzas/tarts)- Nice beer Things to improve:- The service was quite unfriendly and inattentive. We were basically ignored when we walked in and our waiter looked like he wanted to end it all. - I definitely do not expect restaurants to bend over backwards to accommodate non-German speakers, however it would have been nice to have had a little bit of help with the menu when we asked as we had no clue!- Half the menu wasn't available in the evening. It was basically pizza or nothing. It's one of the only restaurants in the area but I recommend you find something further out or just come here for a drink!

wir hatten davor reserviert am Tag x als wir zu 8 unter der Türe standen wollte man nix wissen von der Reservierung und musste zuerst noch decken .....Wir dachten zuerst gehen wir wieder kein Problem....hätten wir uns nur so entschieden......ich persönlich komme nie wieder..... da gibt es nur das Menü und wenn einem da was nicht zusagt gibt's nichts anderes als alternative nicht mal Salat oder nur Suppe?wir haben extra danach gefragt man sagte uns nein am Mittag nur das Menü....Hallo ...geht ja gar nicht .Der Koch lief 2 mal durch das Restaurant Pfeiffend.....ohne Wortezur Deko Empfang im Garten Naja...einladend ist nicht gerade....und was soll der Schaufenster Puppen-Arm? im Innern hat es Spinnwäben an den Deko oder ist da noch Halloween?.... zu dunkel im hinteren Bereich des Raumes.der Kellner war zwar freundlich aber wenn man ihn was fragte musste er zuerst in der Küche nachfragen....öhm sollte man dies nicht wissen wenn man schon nicht mehr zur Auswahl hat am Mittag?ich entscheid mich dann doch da zu Essen ich bekam bisschen Reis mit tiefkühlgemüse......4 Garnelen zu gar gekocht... an einer komisch weisser Sauce.ja das war alles inkl. einen doch schmackhafter Pfälzer Karottensuppe. und das ganze für stolze Fr. 26.50 gehe doch recht viel auswärts Essen aber dies ist für ein Mittagsmenü zu teuer Preisleistung stimmt da gar nicht( schade hätte ein Foto machen sollen) auf ein Kaffee hatte niemand Lust.ja ich bin bisschen verärgert dass ich für das wo ich bekam soooo viel bezahlen musste .und als wir gingen sass da eine Junge Dame und was ass diese...einen gemischten Salat......nein ich sage nichts mehr.....habe fertig...ah ja verabschiedet hat man uns auch nicht.und Tschüssalso wünsche Euch noch angenehme Tage

Sono stato in questo posto perché si trova sotto l’hotel dove alloggiavo, il Sig. James mi ha accolto come se mi conoscesse da sempre, con grande simpatia e professionalità , ho visitato la splendida cantina dove ogni settimana fanno le degustazioni. La cucina è semplice e i piatti abbastanza buoni, se dovessi tornare a Rotkreuz mi fermerei sicuramente, grazie mille!

Der Service war gut, freundliche Atmosphäre. Es war jedoch sehr laut und das Essen war überteuert! CHF. 19. 50 für 4 sehr dünn geschnittene Stücke Melone und vielleicht 8 kleine Scheiben Schinken. Ein Hugo mit Alkohol kostet CHF. 12. 50, ohne CHF. 8. 00 für etwas Sirup und Soda.

Zwischen zwei Besprechungen hatten wir eine Pause - und mussten die Vorhergehende abschliessen und die Kommende vorbereiten und wollten etwas Kleines essen. Das Bistro ist geeignet für solche Mittagszeiten. Netterem guter und unaufdringlicher Service, vernünftige Preise und passende Speisen. In Rotkreuz würde ich das Bistro wieder besuchen.

Een heerlijke gezellige bar bistro met vlotte bediening. De gerechten zijn mega lekker en je vind er zelfs enkele Oostenrijkse specialiteiten op de kaart. Indien in de buurt kom ik hier heel zeker terug. Een leuke toets van de Oostenrijkse eigenaar/kok is dat je bij de heerlijke espresso na het eten een zaaaaaalige Mozartskügel erbij krijgt.

Good selection of beer and really great tarte flambée. The atmosphere is also very good, but you have to be aware that the service can take a long time because it is small but still has a lot of guests.

Beautiful restaurant right next to the train station. The staff is extremely friendly. Reservations can be made. The restaurant is not crowded. It offers a great selection of dishes. The food is superbly prepared and presented to the guest. Absolute recommendation.

Ich wollte nur etwas an der Bar trinken, als ich jedoch den Flammkuchen gesehen habe konnte ich nicht nein sagen. Es hat sich gelohnt. 👍

ALWAYS BRING CASH. Small and good place for an after work drink. I have been here several times. The selection of drinks and beer is in general good. It changes a lot from time to time how friendly or arrogant the staff is. I've tried several times that they bring the wrong drink and becoming very annoyed at me. I simply wanted to receive what I ordered and not another random drink/beer from the card. Some of the items are also in the pricier end. They have a very strange policy on minimum payment of 20 CHF on card - seriously, we are in 2018 now. Everyone pays with card everywhere. Last time my bill was 19 CHF. Unfortunately I only had a 10. So had to use card. James (bartender) put in 29 CHF on the machine. When asked he mentioned the minimum 20 CHF amount. When it is below, they add 10 CHF to the bill??? Frustrated I asked why he couldn't just add 1 CHF. I ended up only paying the 20, but with the mentioning that this is not how they usually do it. Next time they will not have to deal with me as I'll find another place for after work drinks.

Very nice ambience with a great atmosphere. The staff is very attentive, in a good mood and always ready to say a good word. We had a large cold platter as a starter - it tasted wonderful. The tarte flambées with various ingredients were freshly prepared and highly recommended. We also had Kaiserschmarren as dessert - highly recommended! Unfortunately we had to wait a long time because it was very busy. Otherwise top with 1A rating.

Wir wurden von sehr unhöflichen Männern bedient. Er schien uns aktiv zu ignorieren, als wir versuchten, mit ihm zu reden. Wir kamen nie auf uns zu, um zu prüfen, ob wir etwas brauchten. Jedes Mal, wenn wir versuchten, seine Aufmerksamkeit zu bekommen, wurden wir fast absichtlich ignoriert. Ich musste 4 Mal nach dem gleichen Bier fragen, bevor ich es bekam. . . Es schien, als würden wir nur so behandelt, denn der Rest waren Einheimische. . . sehr fremdenfeindlich, gelinde gesagt, wir kommen nicht wieder und würden nicht empfehlen hier zu übernachten.

Bei James fühlt man sich immer wohl, sei es für ein Dinner oder auch nur für einen Drink an der Bar. Die Speisekarte ist klein, genauso wie die Küche, aber was der Koch in seinem engen Reich zaubert ist eine wahre Gaumenfreude. Exquisit und umfangreich auch die Getränkekarte: erlesene Champagner und Weine, ein tolles Gin-Sortiment und eine eigene Bierkarte runden das Sortiment ab. Das ganze kann man in einem Stilsicher eingerichteten Bistro und in lauen Sommernächten auch draussen geniessen.

Small but very nice place to have a drink (or two). Good selection of beers and wine. They also offer a well balanced menu with "snack" options to have along the drinks. Decorations is very cosy, makes you feel at home, it even has a fireplace. Is very busy in after work hours.

Excellent house! Well-kept, good ambience, smoke-free and helpful hosts! Very first recommendation.

I've spent 4 nights in Bauernhof, got the room with window directly under which was a gas station and loading bay of some company, trucks woke me up shortly after 6 in the morning. Otherwise the staying here was ok. They don't serve breakfast in form of bufet, they just fill your fridge with some yoghurt, milk, juice, cereals, cheese and so on, and every morning in front of your doors you will find basket with bread (bun) and croissant. Plus you got Nespresso machine in the room, so you can make the coffee. That food was in general tasty, but you get bored of it if you stay longer, and one would certainly enjoy something like eggs or ham (meat in general), I wonder why they can not serve the breakfast in the restaurant downstairs.Summary: next time I will probably try other hotel, but this is OK for one-two nights stay. Just ask not to get room nr. 11.

Zum Apéro wählten wir einen Apérol Spritz, der schön präsentiert und gut schmeckte. Als Hauptgang entschieden wir uns für ein Risotto an Rotwein Sauce. Das war die falsche Entscheidung, es hat uns nicht so geschmeckt. Die Bedienung hätte aufmerksamer sein können, die Reservation hat nicht geklappt.Meine Kollegin war schon öfters dort, und hat es anders erlebt. Daher gebe ich dem Bistro noch eine Chance, denn die Inneneinrichtung ist gemütlich.

Stielvolles Lokal mit gutem Essen zu äusserst fairen Preisen. Gemütlich eingerichtet - fühlte mich fast schon wie zuhause. Der Wirt mit seiner Fliege ist sympatisch freundlich, zuvorkommend. Ich freue mich heute schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

Ein bisschen ausserhalb von Luzern (ca. 15min mit Zug) ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp zu Hause. Das Bistro Bauernhof mit dem schönsten Weinkeller der Region. Darin kann man sogar essen und Veranstaltungen machen. James, die gute Seele des Hauses ist sich auch nicht zu Schade, das Bistro in einem wunderschönen Glanz erstrahlen zu lassen.Die gute Küche, die perfekte Weinempfehlung waren der Grund für einen perfekten Abend bei James.
