Very good rosti with a small downside, this dish could be offered with a small green salad as a starter instead of more hearty salads. The price-performance ratio is relatively expensive due to the drinks (espresso at 6.-) and the wine. Friendly service and nice setting.

We ate a rösti there with cheese, ham and egg. Expensive for what it is. We are far from the rösti served in the mountains.

I used to enjoy their food but they have TRUMP stickers up in the bar area (on the espresso machine). So say no to fascism and do NOT go to this restaurant. I had a friend who asked if they would take them down and she returned this week and they are still there so this must be part of their identity now. When you work in the service industry, keep your politics to yourself!

Gorgeous atmosphere, very loud and cozy. The rosti was 26 chf for one portion which was to say the least sad - just potatos, ham and two eggs on top. I found that very strange because some of the nicer restaurants in Geneva had the rosti for 18-20 chf. The food here is absolutely not worth it but it’s fine to enjoy some coffee. Also obviously very touristy and crowded.

Went there for hot chocolate with my friends, they served us milk with a bag of powered chocolate, something you could buy in a supermarket. They also don’t accept card payment below 30€ and didn’t warn us before we ordered. Very bad service for a place located in the heart of the city.

The Rosti Oeuf Chorizo poivrons and the jambon and gruyere were really great and very delicious! The service was superb and the atmosphere great!

July 19, 2023. My family ate at the Cafe du Boug-de-Four based on a recommendation from Stephan at the Grand Rue 22 bar, as this was a place where he eats. Victor greeted us, and we had the house rostis, which is essentially hash brown potatoes used as a base for the main dish. These were quite good.

This is a great place to enjoy traditional Swiss cuisine. The rösti is homemade and absolutely delicious. The service is very good and the boss is very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Swiss dining experience!

We ate well in a cool and pleasant place. The variety of dishes was limited.

Overpriced drinks... Beer at 9chf

It boasts being the oldest cafe in Geneva. The restaurant has a cool look and vibe. The staff was rude and pushy with food and pretty upset that we wanted a salad with our drinks but nothing additional. The table next to us was charged an extra 3 CHF per person for not ordering a drink other than water. We also saw them turn away a group that wanted drinks only (the restaurant was empty other than us at the time). My salad tasted fine though definitely not worth the 28 CHF it cost. Go to the crepe place next door instead.

Mediocre rosti. Staff hard sells 1 adult portion food order per person (even if your kid is 3yo). Quite pushy with the drinks too. Insisted that we could finish, when the food came, obviously too much for my kid. When the bill came, suggested a 10% to 20% tip, which is quite odd for Switzerland as most places don’t ‘expect’ a tip. Gave 10% as I didn’t want to cause a scene. Suspect they target tourists only, but I might be wrong?

Came by chance as I happened to be walking by at 6pm. Staff was very polite and courteous. They let us wait inside and use the washroom before dinner service was supposed to start at 6.30PM. Even though it was a weekday, the place filled up rather quickly by 7PM so best to come early/ make a reservation. Ordered two rosti with eggs, cheese and beef slices and an irish coffee. My daughter had nice beef and rosti, I had chicken and rosti both with veg and salad, we both really enjoyed our meal. My husband had the burger but said was OK, was pieces of beef rather than a beef burger and rather messy to eat. Would recommend definitely visiting for a local food 😋

I wanted to return to this restaurant to have a great meal because the last time I was here was 2007. my dinner was amazing and my wine was even better than I thought! I was able to get a table by the bar and enjoy my nice little dinner in old town Geneva.

GOOD. The dishes are good. Their specialty is rösti, it is good but nothing more, a little fatty for my taste. Avoid if you want to eat well. I ordered “tagliatelle” carbonara, and I was served “penne”. It doesn't seem like much, but it got off to a bad start. Very nice cafe with a fantastic atmosphere and great history. Went to dinner there as a couple. Service was very welcoming and friendly. We ordered 2 salads and a rösti. The avocado crab salad was delicious and our favorite part of the meal. The rösti and chèvre salad were good too! The beer was fantastic! It is definitely expensive but I recommend it to anyone in town looking for a typically Swiss experience.
