We went hiking in the area with my husband and chose this restaurant based on the positive reviews. And these were absolutely true. The food was sensational - a delight for the eyes and the palate. But the ambience is also creative, the menu is funny and, above all, the service is first class. Even the dog greeted and said goodbye to everyone in a friendly manner. That was the highlight of the day for us. Thanks!

Quite simply, it is my absolute favorite restaurant in Switzerland. The atmosphere is very loving and straightforward. The very, very good food is served extremely lovingly and creatively. The changing menus invite you to come back again. The cook is great and the service is great. As noted above, always very happy. Price/performance absolutely great.

Ate outside today, really nice terrace by the stream, it was wonderful! Good food, good atmosphere and everything presented very attractively. Cordon Bleu was great, I ate fries for the first time without ketch-up, they were simply a dream. Mixed starters were also great. The restaurant is original and decorated with great care. That definitely wasn't the last time... there was no time for photos this time - the appetite was too great. lol.

Visited: September 2021 Ordered: mountain cheese croquettes with salad, salad with yakitori skewer, chicken cordon bleu filled with herb cream cheese and chickadee, chanterelle risotto (vegetarian) We were looking for a good restaurant that was new to us and that also had something on offer late on a Sunday evening. So we came from the canton of St. Gallen to Wald to Beiz 1640. My partner was happy about the Crazy Chicken Weeks and I was happy with delicious, vegetarian dishes. We were the only guests, which is normal for a late Sunday evening in Wald. Nevertheless, the staff was very motivated and happy about the visit from us and our dog, which was also welcome. The chanterelle risotto was custom-made, it wasn't even on the menu, but as a vegetarian I was very happy about it. We were also able to try the mountain cheese croquettes on salad - also not on the menu. You could tell the joy of the owners and felt well looked after. The Crazy Chicken Weeks menu was varied and also offered something for vegetarians. There was almost too much choice, so you had to take your time to even make a decision. We'd love to come by here again when we're in the area again - or just come especially for you ;)

It's just the restaurant for me, very cozy, unusual, the landlord is relaxed and always has a saying up his sleeve. The food was perfect. We will definitely come back there more often.

We ate (and drank) great food in the lovingly and originally furnished restaurant. The food was excellent and all dishes had that certain something. Highly recommended! One or two vegetarian options other than salad on the menu would be the icing on the cake. :)
