Food great. However, we had to wait 2 hours for the food + there was no apology

Good, but with small drawbacks for the hefty price. The pork steak was undercooked, was anything but tender and also tasted slightly of its origin. The main side dish, the bit of mashed potatoes, was served UNDER the vegetables, barely visible. And out of 4 drinking glasses only one was ok, two smelled slightly and one smelled extremely strongly of "dishcloths". Disgusting drinking pleasure! On the other hand, the salad, vegetables, fries and the side sauce Café de Paris were perfect, served with the meat on a hot stone plate over the rechaud. Stylish! Unfortunately, there is also a drawback here: the rechaud is fired by a veritable Bunsen (gas) burner, whereupon the sauce begins to boil even at the lowest setting and chars after a quarter of an hour, which is probably very unhealthy. Found the same thing on the neighboring tables - shame about the sauce! And unfortunately I also find the decorative garnish for the ice cream parlor to my liking: a sprig of peppermint, a bunch of sour currants and a half-ripe strawberry half. Well meant, but not everything that is intended for vanilla also goes well with the mocha aroma.

OK, here is the thing. Yes, you have a fabulous view from inside the restaurant. But that was the great job done by Nature. As owners of the restaurant, what can you do to par with that? Be nice and friendly!! Was that a lot to ask? I don’t think so. It was such a disappointment to see callous, unfriendly and perhaps xenophobic faces from the people working there, in particular when we are talking about Switzerland, which is well known for its hospitality industry.

Yes, I love these places. At an excellent restaurant you don't need a card. The boss recommends, with variations (meat/fish). He can too; because he knows... and I experience that fantastic food comes out of the kitchen, which is perfectly prepared to the eye. Don't look at the wine list, go straight to the wine cellar and get your enjoyment in person. The experience is worth it.

Like everywhere in Switzerland, the food is very tasty. However, I can only advise everyone not to visit this restaurant. Despite reservations on the terrace, we were not shown onto the terrace by the arrogant boss who only valued his regular guests. Absolute no go if you have already reserved. The waitress tried to make up for the boss's absolutely rude and arrogant manner, but that's not possible with a boss like that. I absolutely don't understand how anyone can survive with something like that. For me, good service is part of a good restaurant, but at every train station kiosk you are treated more politely than here.

Josip gave us a surprise menu. After thinking about it for a moment, we agreed and didn't regret it for a moment. The dinner was brilliant and the service was top. We would like to come again.

Very nice selection of menu for lunch. From pizza to meatloaf to veal liver or fish! When the weather is nice there is a fantastic view😀! On Saturdays the kitchen is closed from 2 p.m. 🤔

I was at Restaurant Berg with three other people and unfortunately we were disappointed. I reserved a table about two months in advance. When we arrived at the restaurant, the waiter said he had to check about the space. When we arrived at the place, the waiter just wanted to take the order for the aperitif. He ignored the Coke order. Unfortunately, the food order didn't work well either because the waiter really wanted to "talk" us into the daily menu. When we asked for the card, he was almost a little horrified. When the starter was served after a good 45 minutes, the next negative point came. We ordered 3 and received 4 entrees. We had to wait around 45 minutes for the main course and not everything was served at once. Unfortunately very disappointing for such a classy restaurant. We deliberately skipped the dessert because the bill was way too high for what we got. Me and the whole group were definitely there for the last time. Very unfortunate.

The boss and the waiters are very hospitable and accommodating. The food is really to die for. The veal cordon bleu is highly recommended, it was the best cordon bleu I have ever eaten. I have never left a restaurant so satisfied.

The food and the ambience are fantastic. You have a breathtaking view from the window. The service was really good at first. The boss personally served us. Unfortunately, after the first order it was over. We have to wait a long time for the wine list. When we had chosen a wine and received it, it was poured for us. When we wanted wine again, we had to take it ourselves. It was only refilled when it was our turn. The staff and the boss are very friendly and make a very good impression. Finally, we were allowed to go into the wine cellar, which I think contains a small fortune and is really nicely furnished. I have never seen such a huge wine bottle in my life as in this cellar. I would definitely eat there again.

I ate very well and will visit this place again and again. Thanks to the chef, you can tell it was cooked and decorated with love.

My husband and I were looking forward to a cozy evening with a delicious dinner. We soon noticed that the other guests in the restaurant were being greeted at the table by Chef. He also recommended various starters and menus from the day. He ignored us!? We probably didn't fit into the posh restaurant in our motorcycle gear! A pity! Never again!

We were there (invited) for the first time. Nice ambience, large terrace, a winter garden-like part with large windows - so great view! Food very good, service attentive and friendly - we don't know the prices (yet). Ideal place for parties (birthday, wedding, class reunion, etc.) but also for two or four people. A reservation is certainly an advantage; we will definitely go there again...

We easily reached the Berg restaurant by car. The parking spaces are directly in front of the house. The entrance to the restaurant is through a wooden door. Then we come to a corridor with some very large and interesting mirrors. We turn left and enter the restaurant. The whole thing looks very stylish. An impressive ambience. The waiter greets us and leads us to our table and takes our order. The aperitif and mineral water arrive quickly. It tastes very good. We enjoy the atmosphere and our aperitif. We were able to select and order the starter and main course at our leisure. The starters came after a short time and tasted very good. The peace and quiet was wonderful. The waiter was very attentive and asked us how it tasted. The main courses were the next course and looked very nice. We enjoyed it and were very satisfied. The drink replenishment was quick. The whole lunch was a real experience. I paid the bill and we look forward to a second time.

I can only agree with the other 1 star reviews. Reservation was lost/forgotten and 4 groups of guests who arrived after us were given priority, we were simply made to wait 30 minutes. After we asked nicely if we could also see the map, the host replied with the following sentence: “I also have other guests, you are not the only ones here”…. We should have left there...it didn't get any better. We were also urged by the host to choose his culinary surprise menu. When we wanted to take a look at the menu, he refused with the words “I want you all to have a nice evening and not have to wait long.” We then agreed to his suggestion. We waited 50 minutes for the starter and then an additional hour for the main course. So much for the “short” waiting time. The food was good, but not a culinary highlight. During the entire time we weren't even noticed or asked if we would like to order drinks. The invoice amount was unbearable in terms of outrageousness. We simply felt ripped off. Conclusion; We will definitely never come back and will not give any recommendations.

Pizzeria located quite high up in the mountains, the view is purely awesome. Remember to reserve in advance to get a place at the terrace during the summer. Parking during peak hours can be quite tricky.

The waiter tried to force us to put together our own menu. When we asked for the card anyway, it was handed over with a sigh and a roll of the eyes. If you want to experience a prime example of creative, passionate and enjoyable gastronomy, come here. The service and cuisine here are at the top level and you feel as if you were invited to a friend's house (until the bill comes ;-). The prices are certainly on the high side, but you get something in return in terms of both culinary and service. The open wine cellar is also an experience. In short: One of our absolute top 3 restaurants!

Well, the welcome was nice, the food was good. But I really don't think it's nice when I go out to eat with my family and you get cold. I also found it sad to see a neighbor wearing a thick jacket. She was sitting in the unheated winter garden like we were and the staff didn't care. It's a shame because if you already have prices like that, it would be nice if it was a little warm. So please just take a warm jacket with you just to be on the safe side 😉and don't be put off if you don't want it the way the boss would like, oops he'll get a little grumpy.

Reservation for 12 people We arrived and it was recommended that we order his prepared menu. Meat (vegetarian wasn't even an option) That was never agreed upon in advance. When we asked for the map they evaded us and made other suggestions. We agreed and waited for the food to come. It took 1.5 hours from the time we arrived until we had something to eat. The few who had a meat dish were satisfied. The vegetarian version quickly conjured up by the chef, which was still available in the kitchen, was beautifully arranged on a high-quality plate. Unfortunately, this does not make a good dish. Seemed very overwhelmed in terms of service. Other guests were served more quickly and friendly. Tip place fewer people, don't accept groups if the staff can't handle it. and keep the quality high. I've been there once during the week and it was great. Unfortunately no longer recommended

The service staff were nice, but the owner was hard to beat in terms of unfriendliness and lack of professionalism. We personally asked in advance whether à la carte orders were also possible for a slightly larger group, and it was confirmed. So today when we made our reservation and wanted to order, the owner came to us in an arrogant and patronizing manner and said that we couldn't order à la carte as agreed and shouldn't bother with the dishes that he had prepared for us will definitely be to our liking. Of course it wasn't like that (LOL). No apologies for the amenities, no friendliness or hospitality - nothing. And when we were clearing away, he simply said, "I know that everything was to your satisfaction," even though we had told him several times that we were not satisfied. Really an absolute disgrace. Anyone who likes unfriendliness with a pinch of narcissism will find their happiness here - anyone else who likes friendly service on a special evening should probably go to another restaurant. I DID NOT EXPECT THAT! I was expecting something nice to eat that was okay... It really was a surprise (it's best to just sit down and be served without looking at the menu :-) )!! Starter, intermediate course and main course, a symphony on one plate! Perfectly seasoned, cooked and put together, a real culinary delight!! PS: If you would like to enjoy a delicious drop of wine, you will definitely get your money's worth with this exquisite choice!

Although there was only a lunch menu and actually only pumpkin soup, we were still served the chestnut soup we wanted, which was a poem! The main course was also incredibly delicious. Once and never again! Service was arrogant and didn't want to give us the map at first, but only wanted to make recommendations. After we settled on an appetizer, we were allowed to see the menu. So we actually would have ordered something different. The salad dressing was sweetened with a lot of sugar and was practically inedible. When it came to the appetizer variation, it wasn't even explained to us which dish was which. The advertised “best pizza in the universe” was a huge disappointment. Dough was bland, tomato sauce was bad, and the topping wasn't what it should be. For example, at Napoli there were: Pieces of fish instead of anchovies. The answer we got was that the chef had 19 Gault Millau points and we weren't used to these good ingredients... all in all, a poor performance from the service and the kitchen. Not recommended…

The reception by the manager of the house took some getting used to. After he saw us standing in the door he just asked if we were from Austria and had made a reservation. After we said we were from Germany and that we unfortunately hadn't made a reservation, he led us to a free table for two without any further comment. From that moment on we were ignored. Nice loungers have been set up so that you can adequately enjoy the wonderful view into the distance. In general, the terrace, like the restaurant, was designed by people with a golden knack for beautiful details and ambience. There is also a small playground for the children. There is a large parking lot right next to the restaurant. Overall, stopping at Restaurant Berg was a nice experience and is worth recommending. We'd love to come back.
