The Etzelkulm restaurant exceeded our expectations! The breathtaking view from the terrace immediately enchanted us and made us feel like we were having lunch in the middle of a postcard landscape. The staff was extremely warm and accommodating, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We were particularly impressed by their dog-friendliness - our four-legged companion was welcomed just as warmly as we were. The food was a real culinary delight! The fish crispies with fries (try them!) and tartar sauce were delicious and perfectly prepared. The sausage salad was fresh and lovingly garnished, making it a real treat. The restaurant is visually very simple and puristic - but the quality of the food is impressive - unexpected for a mountain restaurant

I can't rate the restaurant, only the current offer in the "Lädeli". Unfortunately, the Rivela and also the chips were out of date. Unfortunately we had already consumed it and paid for it otherwise it would have been returned to the “Lädeli”.

A destination with foresight. Good place for easy hikers

Went here for a quick lunch and really enjoyed it! Great decoration, which creates a very nice ambience. We had a delicious meal and were served in a very friendly manner. The selection of food is very large, especially for vegetarians, and the food is not run of the mill, but prepared with love. Will definitely come back!

We reserved a table for lunch, which worked out great! We received a very warm welcome and the table decorations were so beautifully done! The food was very good and the view was magnificent! The climb was really worth it! Only recommended!!!

One of the best places. Impresses with the extreme friendliness of the staff, which is second to none, an extensive and tasty selection and a top view. We have already been here 6-7 times and will happily do so again at any time. TOP! Please stay like this for a long time.

Beautiful view, very tasty food at fair prices and friendly staff. They also serve some good vegetarian dishes. Also very family friendly. There is a children's playground and changing facilities. Regarding the climb, there is a steeper path and a much flatter path that can also be accessed with a Thule or stroller.

I loved that to reach the restaurant you should come by feet making a small trail trough the field and forest in mountains. It makes you deserve the calories you’re going to have. The restaurant itself is amazing, very welcoming atmosphere and very cozy. Everything is perfectly clean. Food is absolutely amazing.

Extraordinary view! Nice place to have lunch or grab a drink during a nice walk. Prices are a little bit high. Especially tap water should cost so much (in the matter of fact tap water should be free)

From Feusisberg to Etzel-Kulm. With beautiful weather and a friendly wind, the well-attended terrace was reached. We ordered and paid inside and were served at the table. Remember the table number. The selection of food and drink is remarkable and the prices are moderate. The service is very friendly and quick. The dishes we ordered tasted very good. The descent towards Meinrad is possible. But if it was wet I would choose a different route. Conclusion: risk of repetition!

Wonderful view on both sides. Highly recommended, a great place to visit!!! Fresh and very tasty food. 4 adults were there for lunch on October 7, 2023. Partial self-service but not bad. The food was ready in about 20 minutes. Lovingly designed indoor and outdoor areas. Very friendly, warm, great and well-positioned team!!! Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back. 🙋‍♀️👍

Great excursion restaurant with a fantastic view of Lake Zurich and Lake Sihl. Very good infrastructure with a large terrace, deck chairs, bean bags and more. Very clever and tasteful furnishings. Anyone who is not afraid of the steep, strenuous climb from Pfäffikon has also done something for their fitness (instead of parking at the top on the Sihlsee side).

We were blown away today... The first year back on the Etzel in two years. The playground offers a lot for the kids. 2 slides, carousel, swings, seesaw, climbing frame and swing seats with a great view. The staff is very friendly and service excellence is highly valued. There are plastic cups and plates for the kids. You can use your own ketchup, mayo and bread as much as you want. Even sunscreen is available. Small things that add that certain something. Great fries, very crispy. Children's portions are finally small enough for children, without half being left over. Salads were super delicious and everything was wonderfully prepared. The prices are rather high, but considering how demanding this type of gastro is, you can understand it. The people always have to be ready with everything, but they are very dependent on the weather and the logistics are not entirely straightforward either. Hats off and thank you for your commitment, your ideas and passion. We will come again and again...

Whitsun Sunday 2020: queued for a long time, then it expired! Received mineral water (the carbonation was already gone...), when the bottles were returned no one responded to the complaint.

Service staff was unfriendly. After waiting in a queue to order, we were chased to find a table first before we can place an order with an arrogant tone of voice. Better take your own food and drinks than dealing this kind of people.

Short and sweet, everything was perfect.

Location location location. Ideal spot to get a beer or water after the grueling climb.

We made a hike from the parking lot by Etzel Feld up here. It's a very beautiful and easy (although uphill) hike and the views are lovely. They have some yummy fries too.

Unfortunately self-service and very confusing. Chairs and tables like from the ski camp. The outside area is cozy and blankets are also available. The view is amazing

We haven't been here since the change of tenant and were very disappointed. The selection of dishes no longer has anything to do with a “mountain restaurant”. Unfortunately, the beef skewer we ordered (which is now served with ratatouille in November) was served completely raw and was incredibly tough. The meat was fried again but it remained tough. The two stars stand solely for the friendliness of the staff and the loving design of the restaurant. However, we wouldn't pay these very high prices for that alone.

Always a nice trip. With the new owners on the Etzel, things have become a little more hectic and loud. There doesn't have to be music on the terrace. You want to enjoy the view and finally some peace and quiet. The food is great. Really central Swiss. I'll be back - hopefully without constant music. We don't like that in the mountain huts either.

If a restaurant makes the fries themselves and doesn't use frozen products, I'm over the moon. The best fries I've had so far. And the view is simply a dream ❤️

A wonderful excursion destination with a well-positioned, friendly and uncomplicated team awaits you on Hochetzel. With a great view of Lake Zurich, the Zurich Oberland with Pfäffikersee and Greifensee, Toggenburg to the Säntis, the Walensee region and Glarnerland. Continue to the Wäggitaler mountains and of course to the Einsiedlerland with the Sihlssee, Drusberg and the two myths. Normally you can get to the Büel restaurant on foot or by car from Schindellegi and then walk up to Hochetzel, or you can also walk up a steep path from the Gasthof St Meinrad up to Hochetzel. Another variant is, from Luegeten ob Pfäffikon up the Etzelpass road to "Erli" and then a forest path into "Strickliweg". A varied, steep path up and past concrete remains of the Etzel Fortress up to Hochetzel.

Beautiful place perfect above the sea of ​​fog with a playground for the children and delicious menus. Despite there being a lot of people, there wasn't a long wait.

Beautiful views, but unfortunatelly very unfriendly service at Restaurant Etzel- Kulm. The owner, who was serving us, was very arrogant with us. It was very annoying and unpleasant experience, so left quickly elsewhere.

What an amazing place! A nice walk up to the restaurant and then stunning views across zurich lake and beyond. The food is excellent and all Swiss, seasonal and local. There is a lovely playground for kids and I’d recommend this place for both young and old. I was fortunate to meet the two ladies who run the place and was astonished to hear they’d only taken it over a year ago. Their passion, enthusiasm and love for both the area and the food was apparent. Would highly recommend

Hiked up from Pfäffikon train station. Great terrace with a panoramic view of the large and small Mythen, Urnerland. Super tasty and freshly prepared food! Strong recommendation to try the Etzelfladä!

Magnificent view over the Sihl lake and over the mountains including the Mythens. Very large and sunny terrasse with a playground for children. Food is local and good . We had fruit tarts which were very tasty. On the other side of the restaurant one of the nicest view over the Zürich lake. Just in front of Rapperswil, one can see a huge panorama including the Pfaffiker lake and the Greifensee. A must!

Unfriendly staff because I didn't pay attention to the fact that I had to remember the table number (I put my backpack on a chair and went straight into the restaurant, so I didn't see the note🤷‍♂️). The sausage and cheese salad was ok, but carelessly prepared. Too bad😔

The restaurant certainly doesn't shine with its staid 80s architectural charm... Swiss mountain gastronomy architecture at its worst, but who would look at something like that when the view is so overwhelming and the warmth of the team of hosts is so engaging. Nice destination for a walk in both summer and winter. Mountain restaurant where you order at the counter but the dish is then delivered to the table. Outside if the weather permits there is a magnificent view towards the Sihlsee and Einsiedeln, in the background the Mythen and the Titlis.

We were very happy about the extraordinary star guest (very peaceful ox with emergency provisions on his back 🤩 Sunday in February 2022) We always feel very comfortable and in good hands! Many thanks to the team.
