Friendly host, an absolute gastronomic delight (vegi menu was an absolute surprise to the eye, both culinary and creative!), also very easy to reach by car. A MUST for a homesick Glarus resident!!

We had the opportunity to have lunch in this cute little restaurant in an idyllic atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was very professional. We will be happy to come back. 🥰🥰

On Sundays at 2:20 p.m. you are rudely turned away because the restaurant is supposed to be on holiday or closed - with a well-filled terrace. Both on the website and on Google it says open until 5 p.m. Awkward! That was the last visit.

The second visit was rather unfriendly. The owner of the restaurant suddenly became very rude. Nevertheless, the food was again great. But don't go there again so quickly.

The most rude place I've ever been to. I was in this restaurant before the management changed, and I thought it was very good and wanted to come back. A couple of years later, I managed to do it, but it would have been better if it hadn't happened. Yesterday, I was in a great mood to go to this restaurant for dinner, walking 30 minutes from the train station and nothing stopped me. However, when I arrived, it started to rain, and the so-called "chef" of the restaurant told me not to sit down because he was moving people, and I should clarify that he said it shouting. Well, nothing, I thought, I'll wait, after a while I went up to him and said that I would really like to have dinner here, that I had been here before and dreamed of eating here again, to which he said to me in a shouting and aggressive tone, "Can't you see that I don't have any seats" and ran away. I was stunned, and a couple of minutes later he came up and said, "What do you want? What do you want me to do for you?" I told him that I was traveling to Switzerland for a very long time and far away, and one of the places I wanted to visit was this. To which I received the answer "It's not my problem, there are no seats" and he pointed me towards the door. I repeat, there was a terrible downpour and thunder, I said that I had no car and that I could not go because of the rain, to which he rolled his eyes and said that he would not do anything about it. I burst into tears because I was walking and traveling here for so long and then he was aggressive, impolite to me and didn't even apologize, I was very offended and NO-ONE from stuff came to me. And finally, the seating arrangement was very irrational, and if he wanted to do his job, there would be possible to find a table for one person, believe me. That “chef” is aggressive, rude, impudent and behaves like a psycho. I do not recommend this place to anyone!

I will write a terrible story that happened to my daughter in this institution! Yesterday, my daughter came to this restaurant from afar, with a great desire to visit a delicious kitchen with a good location, since she was there in the summer of 2022, and just imagine - the girl greets her joyfully, and in response - there are no seats, leave here! Exactly!!! At that moment, it started to rain, and she says - that I can't go because it's raining, and the chief manager mockingly tells her rudely - and I don't care! Go away! The girl is crying and no one from the staff pays attention to her! Spoiled mood, killed desire to come there. We do not advise anyone to go there!

My restaurant withdrawal was a terrible experience. The staff behaved completely unacceptable, the waiters showed complete incompetence and indifference to the guests. The chef displayed rude behavior that spoiled the mood. But the worst thing is that I found hair in my dish. This is absolutely unacceptable. Also, when I expressed my displeasure about the quality and sanitation, I was refused a refund for the meal. This attitude towards customers is unacceptable and does not meet service standards. For this experience I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone and I am very sorry I spent my time and money here.

My friend's intention to enjoy a meal was met with an appalling display of disrespect that left me utterly dismayed. As soon as the rain started pouring heavily, my friend not only wanted to eat but sought refuge within the restaurant, a reasonable request given the circumstances. However, the response she received from a staff member was not only shocking but also completely uncalled for. The staff member's aggressive and dismissive tone, along with his refusal to accommodate her, showcases a complete disregard for basic human decency. The distressing part is when my friend attempted to explain situation, but the staff member continued to exhibit a deplorable attitude. Instead of showing empathy and understanding, he chose to belittle her by insisting there were no available seats and demanding her departure. The blatant lack of empathy and refusal to acknowledge her predicament is utterly shameful. Furthermore, the staff member's decision to point to the door and avert his gaze reflects a level of disrespect that is both astonishing and unacceptable. It's truly disheartening to see an establishment that relies on its customers' financial support treat them in such an appalling manner. This experience sheds light on the restaurant's appalling customer service standards and their complete disregard for the well-being and comfort of their patrons. The restaurant's behavior, especially in a situation where a simple act of kindness and understanding was warranted, is truly inexcusable. It's deeply disappointing to witness such a blatant disregard for customers who are the lifeblood of their business.

You have to want to go to the Bergli restaurant, you really can't just drop by there - we got the tip from a work colleague. The welcome was warm, the reservation by email worked - we had a wonderful view of Glarus and the mountains from the great terrace. The staff was very friendly, in a good mood, not always comfortable but that was made up for with their warmth. I was already fascinated by the Ziger cream soup when I studied the menu online. You have to like Ziger - this soup was a dream despite the hot temperatures! The main course Rösti with liver and vegetables also impressed our taste buds. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert. If we are in Glarus again, we would definitely reserve a table here again!

We wanted to stop in on a Saturday, August 12th between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. but were sent away because of a break. The entire service team took a break, no coffee, no drinks. For me that means the restaurant is closed and not open like everywhere else. It's a shame that in this beautiful place the guest is sent away because they don't feel like making money. Anything but hospitable.

We had a wonderful journey to get there and of course it was only for the best to reserve a table, because when we were there, a number of people and entire groups were turned away because they hadn't reserved a table and everything was already full. There is enough parking space up there, the service was really excellent and the dishes that were brought to us were really extremely well prepared and prepared. What I rarely do, I really enjoyed it there and gave various compliments to the kitchen because it was really excellent. The prices are really very reasonable and almost at Zurich level, so they are a bit more expensive than anywhere else, but the quality is good and the space and the whole ambience around it, with a view of the main town of the canton of Glarus, are certainly unique. We will be there again shortly and this time there will be four of us and not just two and, as already mentioned above, we will definitely not miss making a reservation there in order to get a table outside and in the shade. The whole thing is really highly recommended and if you were to plan a larger party, there are two beautiful halls on the upper floor integrated into the beautiful house, which are really excellently equipped.

Very bad service, we hardly got anything to drink and even went to the head of the service to order a drink. We even took the orders ourselves to give to the service staff because they weren't able to take orders. The pork steak was already pink on the outside and partly still raw in the middle and the side dishes were partly true. still hard and everyone had a different side dish, some of what was good were the fries. And we are 18 people and for one ordered meal. And we didn't get any because the kitchen was closed The ambience was great, the view from there was amazing and fantastic and also recommended. However, I will only come to the restaurant for the views My open and honest opinion on this Best regards

Mediocre food... not a hit! Price performance is not right!

First of all, the food was very good. However, the selection on the menu is quite limited and contains a few exotic menu items, which are not to be expected in a restaurant with a regional touch. When we made our reservation we were offered shady spots under the big tree. This was confirmed the day before the visit. We were given a table on site with 3 of 4 chairs under the parasol. After protests we were transferred. All tables had a “Reserved” sign, but at least 3/4 of the tables remained free. Including the most beautiful places. This disappointed us a bit. The view is still fantastic, so I think 4 stars is a fair rating.

Ate wonderfully. Chicken breast with curry sauce, fresh fruits and rice. Juicy and very lovingly prepared. The veal liver with rösti and vegetables were also great. Attentive and competent service. The view of Glarus is the icing on the cake 😍

Lunch on the terrace with a great view, we had Vitello Tonnato or a tartare, a menu salad with Ziger sauce in advance, and a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Everything exquisite and at fair prices. Very nice service and atmosphere. Will definitely come back!

We spontaneously paid a visit to the Bergli today. The waiter greeted us friendly and was very accommodating. Our Food; Snails with herb sauce, mixed salad, tagliatelle with truffle cream sauce and the Älplermagronen were great! Although the restaurant was only open until 2 p.m., we were able to enjoy an espresso to round it off. Highly recommended and would love to do it again 😊👍

December 10, 2021 There were 5 people in the igloo for raclette, cost 360 francs, just for the cheese, with few side dishes, no meat! Sorry, this is a rip-off to the highest degree. I certainly won't recommend it or ever use it myself again. Ps: the service wasn't exactly very friendly either.

The only nice thing about the restaurant would have been the view. This was denied to us. All the tables and benches outside were left wet, even though the sun had been shining for a while after the rain and the temperature was warm in August. It was crowded inside as expected on a Sunday. A drinks menu wasn't even handed out; instead, we were taken by surprise with the order and ordered quickly because we didn't want to stop operations. In retrospect, this was already annoying. The main meal was particularly recommended as prepared by the wife and cook: perch fish in batter. We both ordered it. Unfortunately. There was hardly any fish, but there was a lot of fried dough, some half-cooked mini potatoes and two tablespoons of spinach leaves, with regular tartar sauce. Unfriendly waitress who, in response to my polite reticence, hissed at me when I asked him briefly whether it was okay: "Thanks for the answer." We feel taken advantage of and insulted.

Beautiful location: terrace! The selection is limited. The quality of the food is good: nothing more, nothing less. The logistics are somewhat strange: you can make an early reservation for dinner and then be served promptly, but the dessert can only be ordered once all the guests on the entire terrace have had the main courses...

I've been there three times now since the change of host, the first time very unfriendly, (the boss) the second time we were made to wait 15 minutes so we left before ordering, the third time we waited almost an hour for the food. The innkeeper makes strange excuses, doesn't even apologize, wants to cook for 80 people without having the capacity in the kitchen. That was definitely the last time, you get the feeling you should be happy to be able to eat there, I don't have to! I go to the restaurant to enjoy myself, not to annoy myself.

Visit yesterday August 11th. , reserved for lunch, 3 people...Our waitress, male, could tell from the first contact that he didn't feel like it! Order still pending after about 40 minutes! Our brother asked and said he had to go back to work! (He's been there several times and it's never really been friendly, but he always wanted to give the restaurant another chance) Answer, very spiteful: He's not the only one who has to work, they have a lot of people to eat and that's the way it is now, it will be then come on! It continued so unfriendly, various unfriendly comments! 10 minutes later the food finally came! That was ok..... Our brother called the boss, the unfriendly behavior continued, as did the boss and his employees, I'm just saying! No serious apology!! Now the restaurant is definitely dead for us, there are no more recommendations from our brother! As an independent entrepreneur in Glarus, who has lived there for decades, he is very disappointed and so are we! A pity !
