Bierhalle Wolf in Zürich

Cute spot, but the food is not good. Everything was drenched, literally smothered, in sauces . . . both the wurst and the salad. At that volume of sause one could be eating cat food and not notice, so even if the food were good I couldn't tell

Very friendly service. A cheap restaurant by Zurich standards, highly recommended, especially when combined with the Zurich Card, for which there was a surprise.

Very tasty food at reasonable prices. When you present your Zurich Card you will receive a free dessert.

What can I say...it's certainly not haute cuisine, but I like it!

A very enjoyable place. There is live music. A friendly, warm environment. Anyone who wants can get up, sing along to the music and dance. The staff is friendly, the menu is nice, the beer is nice. I advise.

Even if you're not a folk music fan, it's always worth a visit.

Underground Experience: There was live music and after about 30 minutes a waitress came and wanted 8 CHF per person, even though we just wanted to have a beer and then eat somewhere else. We weren't made aware of this when we entered; we were then referred to posters in the room that are so small that you really have to pay close attention to them. There are also dozens of other posters on the wall. For our purpose the music was rather disturbing anyway. So we explained that we would finish the drinks and then leave. We were then very rudely asked by another service person to pay the 8 CHF, which we again very clearly refused. We will avoid the restaurant in the future. Extremely unfriendly, even though we of course understand the tax for live music, it must be ensured that this is made clear before the first order and that this rip-off is not carried out afterwards.

Our experience was positive: prices not excessive compared to the Zurich average, generous courses and courteous staff (at the end of dinner we were offered bitters).

Once again a successful evening, gladly again.

Food was good, but portions were too small for the price/performance ratio. It took 55 minutes from the time we sat down until the food arrived, which was enough for two beers. It was not very busy on Wednesday lunchtime and there were 8 of us. One time thing We didn't get the pretzel as a starter.

Very friendly place - nice boss - and above all we really enjoyed the Zurich-style mince and roesti, a delight

There is usually live music over the weekend The Luckboys played this weekend. It was great, we recommend reserving seats.

My friends and I (3 people) spontaneously came here for dinner on a Friday evening. The restaurant was very full, so we were seated at a table with 3 other people. After a few minutes we were asked to pay an entrance fee of CHF 7.50. When we asked what the entrance fee was for, we were told that there was live music on Friday and Saturday. I thought this was a bit cheeky as it could easily be mentioned before placement. Taking our order also took around 30 minutes. However, the food was very good for the price. The live music saved our somewhat annoyed mood. The staff was stressed by the full workforce and therefore made little effort.

Really delicious food! And superb live music! i quite liked the view and the people were really sweet! All in all it was amazing! But it is not a place to go if you are in a rush, you should visit here if you have time to sit and enjoy the experience

It's expensive, it's greasy, it's meh. I felt very uncomfortable there. And we even had to pay for bad music even though it hadn't been announced.

As long as there is no entry fee for the music, everything is fine. Beer is decent, although the service was a bit laggy.

The three of us wanted to have a drink when we asked for the bill: 3x CHF 7.- for the live music. Impudence! Badly written or not written at all.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to have arrived in the 21st century yet. Despite several attempts to make eye contact with the older gentleman in service, I was skillfully ignored and not served for 20 minutes - because I was breastfeeding my child. Maybe it was meant kindly, but on a hot afternoon I still expect at least a brief inquiry about whether I would like something to drink when I sit down in a restaurant. Whether with or without a baby at the breast.

A nice restaurant overlooking the Zurich lake. The local food is not to my liking but the service was nice.

It has been a great experience! Coming from California especially Dragi who seems to be the owner. I have never met a more accommodating person before. She is the Definition of this place and made my day!

Horribly rude staff, I felt the older big sized lady was probably a bit racist. She treated us as if SHE was paying us to eat there . The food was atrocious, I brought a big group here as part of work consisting of mostly Singaporeans and we were shocked at her obnoxious behaviour. The restaurant was completely empty even though it was lunch hour and yet she did not let us occupy one more table so we could have ample seating. All in all - don’t waste your time going to this place especially if you’re a tourist. We ordered some kind of curry dish as well as an apple dessert. Worst thing I’ve ever tasted in Zurich. You’re better off buying a salad a COOP or a kebab at the takeaway nearby and calling it a day.

Food was really good… but be careful they make you pay for the very loud live music in the afternoon for 7 CHF per person, which is outrageous because no signs (in English) was indicating it! It leaves you with a bitter taste when you liked the food, to pay for 14 CHF additional on your bill without being informed of it. While in other restaurants you would get the live music for free.

oh yeah! excellent food and good entertainment. could be a bit noisy at times but thats the fun of it. was in a group so we had cordon bleu, rosti, veal strips amongst others and all turned out excellent. had a very good time and well worth the €. suggest a visit if possible and if so, you should consider a booking especially if you want an external seat.

How tacky it is to eat a nice schnitzel in the sun near the river.

The cordon bleu was freshly prepared. Unfortunately, this is round (as if formed into a small ball). The shape takes away from the flavor of the meat.

The beer hall is above the zenith. Sanitary facilities should be renewed.

Bratwurst was okay, but not enough for the price. Did not like onion gravy on it. Weiner schnitzel was a large portion, but overpriced. We both wish they had served sauerkraut. Both came with fries.

Rustic and down-to-earth. Food ok, but nothing special. What is dubious is that different prices are printed on the menus and placemats. The higher prices are always shown on the bill

If you want the Oktoberfest experiencing this is a good place to have it!

Since we weren't served at an all you can eat meal because we apparently exceeded the limit (hello all you can eat!!!) we've been avoiding the restaurant.

Whenever possible, when we are in ZH on the weekend, we visit the Wolf beer hall. Live music and a bit of dancing, enjoy beer and fine food. Best regards

If you are not a host and cannot greet and receive guests, you are in the wrong job. It's a shame, I would have liked to have had an experience in this store

Avoid at all costs!!! I ordered a Cordon Bleu. What I received is visible in the attached image and cost me CHF 45.-

The food was really good. I never expected it, but the service was unbeatable. Very attentive and on the ball. I would like to go again.

Definite Swiss German feel. Nice efficient staff. Not too pricey for Zurich.

In Zurich on vacation and staying near the Bierhalle Wolf at Hotel Hirschen. We stopped in for some great beer, food and music. Yes, there is a cover charge for the live music, but it is well worth it if you enjoy bier hall music. Nice beer and food options and we enjoyed everything, to include the lively music filled atmosphere. If you like music, food and fun, stop at Bierhalle Wolf when you are in Zurich.

Friendly location. Best Leberli with Rösti in a long time. Great Cordon Bleu "Diavolo". Fine cappuccini. Great service! Lovely again.

A bit of a country place, live music, a bit high volume, prices ok

I feel very comfortable with life musik. good friends and with the always friendly and good-humored long-time Dragan in the services, new are now 2 hard-working ladies in dirndls in the services! Unfortunately, that's not just my opinion. Too few service staff are employed. Therefore, the wait is too long to drink, eat, etc.! the guests run away! Unfortunately I have to criticize that! The food is currently very good and inexpensive! Good luck to your long-time Wolf music + dance guest, Magdalena Klingler!

For live music they charge Fr. 10.00 and I think that's pretty exaggerated. You can't attribute everything to Corona!

We arrived at the restaurant very late at that time. making an appointment in advance. But the restaurant also accepted. and very attentive service. Beautiful clean and tidy space

Excellent service, but the food was not good. Dry pork knuckle, we ordered Home made meatloaf, we got the “other meatloaf “ by mistake made by the restaurant. Horrible , it was more like eating Spam. Did not want to order again because we waited more than 45 minutes and the place was empty!! We are connoisseurs of German food. Definitely, do not advise this restaurant. Sorry!

Totally bad service, we made reservations for 12 people, nothing was prepared, we had to wait a long time to order the drinks. The number of salads and soups was incorrect. Side dishes for the main meals were incorrect and someone even didn't get a main meal. They always said they ordered it from the kitchen, but nothing ever came. Absolutely disappointing.

It is perfectly suitable for a beer hall, its kitchen is not brilliant.

You order a Cordonbleu from the Wolf beer hall... and what do you get? A cordon ball... I have no idea who came up with it, but THAT is not a cordon bleu with tartare, by the way, there were rusks... Butter is a foreign word, you don't need it with rusks because dry is the motto all together, I wouldn't recommend it and I definitely won't order it again... so in the restaurant in general

Relatively good food but nothing special. Depending on the dishes, the portions are a little sad. Quite a long wait. Unable to pay the group bill separately. Understaffed and not pleasant to participate.

Food was delayed, cold, and the order was incomplete. Staff was not friendly, and rude. Everytime when asked for a beer (warm) or a water, he rolled his eyes. 2 stars are for location, that's it. If you can avoid this place, please do so. There are other options near by.

I reserved a table for my bachelorette party long in advance. I was disappointed when some things were poorly prepared, for example not enough space was prepared, so we had to add a table and chairs ourselves. Service was not friendly and customer-oriented. We had to wait a long time for our order and had the impression that the waiter was annoyed by us. Live music was canceled and we were informed about 1.5 hours before we made the reservation that no band would be performing and that we would get good mood music via box. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case either, there was no atmosphere, bright interior lighting and music was barely audible. With a consumption of Fr 950 (19 people), a little more appreciation would have been desirable. Food was very fine.

Came here for the 3rd time out of 4 trips to Swiss. The recommendations on the food is good and not too expensive.
