Bits & Bites in Zürich

The restaurant has very high prices. Everything was very clean and tidy. We were just there to pass the time. Otherwise we wouldn't be there...

We came here before a concert at hallenstadion and it was very busy. They have a very limited food menu and even then didn’t have some ingredients available. Service was very slow and we kept having to grab the staff’s attention. One of our meals arrived and the other didn’t, after about 20 mins when we asked where the other order was, it turned out they had messed up and given it to someone else. Food was extremely average (for the chicken Thai curry they just placed plain cooked slices of chicken on top of a vegetable curry). At least they were apologetic and nice about the mistake (having initially not been very pleasant).

Actually we just wanted to eat dessert. We came in and were greeted unfriendly and directed to the bar. We sat down at the table and waited. We watched excitedly as the 6 waiters did everything else instead of serving us! After about 12 minutes we asked if we could order. Not speaking German, we were able to order 2 scoops of ice cream. The restaurant or bar was so empty that we didn't even get a napkin with our ice cream. The highlight is the flyer that there is self-service in the garden... But we sat in the restaurant. A shame for Zurich and we won't be coming back!

Not much can be said about it. Yesterday we wanted to grab something to eat before going to a concert at Bits & Bites. We took a look at the restaurant from outside and noticed that it was mostly empty. “Good,” we thought. We'll definitely get a table for two. The gentleman at the entrance was initially friendly in greeting us until he heard that we didn't have a reservation. Afterwards we were immediately turned away. No table without a reservation. I drew his attention to the empty shop and mentioned that we just wanted to eat something briefly and would then give up the table again straight away. Nothing, he said it wasn't my place to judge, goodbye. Dissatisfied with the service and skeptical about the capacity of the business, I checked the reservation toll on their homepage. Tables could be reserved every hour until late. So I chose the next available time, booked the table and went back on time. I showed him the reservation confirmation and asked if I could sit down. No, said the gentleman. This is still not possible despite a reservation. However, the store was still just as empty as the first visit. The people in the office who are responsible for updating the reservation tool have long since finished work. That's why you can book, but the shop doesn't have any free tables (and this with the restaurant almost empty!!!). I thought it was a joke, firstly that the shop had more than enough free tables and secondly that you can make a reservation and then be turned away with such a poor excuse. What would have happened if I had made a reservation at home and driven there specifically for that??? But nothing, he was unfriendly and he remained unfriendly. Absolute no-go! I'll definitely never eat there with my friends before a concert again!!!

Very disappointed with the service offered. Orders must be placed in one place at the bar when there was no one else to serve. It feels a bit like a school canteen. Also the drinks were not what we ordered. You would have to make a little effort.

Sat at the bar. One could expect the person on the other side to take the order... After a nonchalant welcome the "barmaid" told us to order at the cashier on the opposite end of the bar. I saw they had a bottle of Kahlua and asked for an Espresso Martini. Instead of my order I got a ristretto with a shot of Martini from the "barman"/cashier...

Prices, like all of Switzerland, are expensive. The burger was 35 Swiss francs, I think the most expensive we have ever eaten, however it was good which is the important thing, but not the fries. I ordered a chicken curry and asked if it was spicy and they told me no, but it was spicy. The best of all was our waiter, super attentive, the only one in all of Europe who even offered to take our photo. That alone was worth it, after so many days of rudeness and mistreatment.

General: A small but fine restaurant in close proximity to the Hallenstadion and the Zurich Trade Fair. Very friendly staff and good food top it all off. I was very pleased. Staff, 5/5: Incredibly friendly & courteous staff. I have rarely received such friendly and courteous service. They were and remained very attentive the entire time and for me that all constitutes good service. Food & Drinks, 5/5: The food and drink menu was rather small but perfectly adequate. There was even a vegan burger - a very tasty alternative even for a non-vegan. The prices were a little higher but the portions were really big. You don't leave here hungry. Location, 5/5: I really like the restaurant itself. It's nothing special but it's nice, clean and inviting. It is also in close proximity to the Hallenstadion and the Zurich Trade Fair.

Not bad but like everything in Zurich, really expensive for what you get. The menu is very limited and the environment is ok.

The service person did not initally respect the reservation. After we proved that we made it he suddenly found a table for us. When we said we only want drinks he forced us to move to the bar even though we reserved a table. Basic drinks (e.g. rose wine, porto tawny) were not available even though they are present in the menu. The drinks they did have were made poorly and overpriced (CHF 19 for a basic gin&tonic).

Nice catering during a training seminar. Buffet, which means: Take as much as you like. And as a dessert variant, among other things. Ice cream (Mövenpick) 👌 A la carte would certainly be quite expensive. Great teas, cafe and ovo in self service. What more do you want? ☕

TOP location directly opposite the Hallenstadion. And there was a beer stand outside. That's great. But we went in and wanted to eat something. We were shown space immediately. Then the service dropped off significantly even though there wasn't that much going on. I like to eat a good burger and pay a little more for it. But 31.50?!? And then you are served something that tastes like nothing at all. Like nothing at all. impudence. And we didn't get a second beer at all and I had to beg 4 times to pay. So when it comes to service and taste, there is a lot of room for improvement.

Portions are OK, a bit hectic but that's obvious in a place like this. Friendly service. Something wasn't delivered correctly but was then corrected on the invoice without any problems

Would be perfect for something to eat before a concert or show. The menu is kept very small if there is an event in the hall station. We had the sweet and sour chicken, the chicken nuggets for children and a Caesar salad. I ordered this lactose-free. But what I was served was subterranean in my opinion, a plate with green salad, two cherry tomatoes and a little bacon plus the chicken fillet - nothing WITHOUT dressing! When we ordered, our waiter didn't say a word that it would be served without dressing. Oil and vinegar were then served. When I asked for parmesan shavings, I got the parmesan for over the spaghetti. The sweet and sour chicken was average but the nuggets were very good. The service could be improved in many ways. And the bill at the end was the crowning glory... Chf 27 for a small green salad with chicken. Absolute rip-off in my opinion, especially since the daily hit (sweet and sour) was cheaper.

Inflated price 31.50 per cheeseburger 100% industrial/frozen product. “Belgian” fries with freezer flavor. But very fast and efficient service.

Air conditioning a little cold for my taste but otherwise not perfect

So far OK, toilets were clean, waitresses could have been friendlier. Went in after the concert because the bands were staying there. The price for a Gin Mare was not justified at all. 3 pieces, 67.50 chf. We expected more for the money.

Too expensive and unable to serve beer

If you are considering booking this for pre dinner whilst attending the stadium, id strongly suggest you pre book on line, it gets very busy. We were offered a pre set menu which had 3 to 4 options for starter, main course & desert. Only had a main course, which was burger & baked potato - 32f. Very over priced for what you received & my wife had a Caesar salad with a piece of chicken on the top for 10f extra. Overall convenient for us going to the concert. Staff were polite & efficient

Ideal for grabbing something to eat before a concert in the Hallenstadion. The food was good and prepared quickly. Unfortunately, the staff only understand German poorly and were not particularly well instructed.

Extremely rude staff, only had 3 things on the menu of which only a salad was available which was 17 francs and 10 francs extra to add chicken.

The food was good but the service needs improvement. A quarter of an hour after ordering, she informed us that this menu was not available. The prices are too high! 5.30 CHF for a 3.3 dl of water.

Despite "Full House" (concert evening in the Hallenstadion) we were served very lovingly and attentively. We will happily eat there again.

Great location to pass the time before going to a concert, fine beer (Appenzeller), only Feldschlösschen in the indoor stadium. The only star deduction for high prices e.g. Bratwurst with 1/4 Bürli for an insane Fr. 11.00!!

Fine, solid gears. Restaurant was full...due to the concert. Well organized team. Drinks came very quickly...the food came relatively quickly. Price performance is right. That certain “something” was missing.

A very pleasant location. We celebrated a birthday last weekend. They were extremely uncomplicated and super friendly. From the aperitif to the dessert it was perfect. Many many thanks! I couldn't ask for a better location. Gladly again.

Very convincing breakfast buffet with attentive staff.

I went for a coffee between two exams on January 4th. The service was unobtrusive and friendly. Very clean and stylishly furnished restaurant.

Not too big a map, but what it has is good. Service was very accommodating and food came quickly.

I can't recommend it. Had to wait a long time at the bar until someone came to take my order. Then they say no cocktails will be served due to Corona. Strange because I could see all the ingredients behind the bar. And there is no note on the menu that not all drinks are available. So I asked what was served and they said normal non-alcoholic drinks. Then I ordered a Fanta. That didn't exist either! Unfriendly service and prices that were too high also rounded off the bad experience.

I can generally agree with the reviews. BUT don't go into the parking lot. The prices are outrageously expensive. Better go to the Messe Zurich parking garage!!! I paid 25 for just over two hours. To the hotel management, I don't understand these exorbitant prices and I certainly won't fall for them again!!!!

For me it's the perfect restaurant for a bite to eat before going to a concert. They always have a motto, i.e. that of the respective act, and usually also play their music. Ok, with metal (e.g. Slipknot) not so much... 🤣🤪 The food is excellent, it's quick and the service is very friendly.

Went to this restaurant this evening before the Australia Pink Floyd concert. The burgers on offer here for Fr. 28 simply cannot be beaten. To imitate: Using a fretsaw, saw out a circle with a diameter of approx. 8 cm from a thin sheet of plywood. Clamp it between 2 previously baked burger loaves - done. To spice things up, throw in a few fries and, as a highlight, serve a small bowl of cabbage salad with carrots. The service was good and friendly (hence the star). At least the coffee was taken over by the house after the complaint.

Nice hotel restaurant. We eat there every year when there is a trade fair because it tastes much better than the food offered at the trade fair. It is also cheaper in comparison. The service is always friendly and the dishes are varied and tasty. So all in all okay. So GOOD three stars from me!

Sunday evening, summer, after a concert in the Hallenstadion, they close the terrace and serve the rush of thirsty, cheerful guests at the bar with one and a half people. OK? Embarrassing, or do you want to deliberately scare away customers?

Very well maintained restaurant, the staff is professional and friendly. The menu is not large but the dishes offered are good. The portions are not very large. The menu is rather based on fresh dishes and vegetarians will be happy to find dishes to suit their tastes, as meat is not widely available.

The food was delicious and the price was ok too. The selection (lunch) on the menu is varied and generous. Unfortunately, the service staff cannot keep up with the chefs. We were given the wrong portion size, but the waiter wasn't particularly interested in that. A pity.

Very disorganized and unfriendly staff. We were accused of giving the order to the wrong waiter and the cutlery was taken away from right in front of us. Food was too salty. Our constructive and benevolent feedback was not really accepted.

Friendly people, Swiss quality is almost always more than good wherever you go throughout the country. Perhaps because they know that their prices are the most expensive in all of Europe, they put effort into service and quality.
