Very friendly staff, good inexpensive food, nice atmosphere

It's nice that there is still such an authentic restaurant in the middle of Zurich where you can eat well at reasonable prices and receive decent service.

I looked for a beer house within walking distance of my hostel and came here. It was almost full, but I was able to get in. Switzerland has a curry that has evolved in its own way! Liz Casimir was delicious. Swiss beer is also delicious! I was happy to see that the staff at the store clearly cared about me, a solo Asian traveler, and treated me in a friendly manner.

Traditional Swiss cuisine, prompt, very friendly service, top price/performance, we would be happy to come back.

Price-performance ratio is right, a bit noisy when full. The owner should place a heavy curtain at the entrance to protect against the cold. If you sit in the middle of the restaurant you will get cold all evening. But otherwise I can recommend it.

They forbade us to hunt despite the fact that we were the only ones. Prices are okay, but the staff isn't really welcoming.

I had ZuriGeschnetzle w Rosti for lunch few days ago, this was my 3-rd-4th visit during last 6 mths. There was nothing out of the ordinary the previous visits but on this last visit few days ago I was left with the the strange feeling that the kalb in the geschnetzles was hardly anywhere to be seen or found, in other words, I see rosti in my plate as well as crème mushroom sauce w/NO kalb geschnetzlets. I just want the manager-waiterAndCook to realize that diners notice these things and when you’re charged around CHF 40 you’d expect value otherwise the word of the mouth will spread and the business will develop a reputation for being a tourist trap.

I would describe this as the Zurich version of Wetherspoons. Not a bad place to come for a couple of beers and a fried feed. The meals come out exactly per the pictures but would say they taste better than they look. In contrast to the rest of the street pretty good value.

Spontaneously found a place at the cozy 2nd table during the week. very courteous service. Menu with CH menus, open wine bar in bottle quality. gordon bleu in spherical shape, generally very fine cuisine. Prices ok for the location.

It was very comfortable and a good atmospheric ferry.

As typical and authentic as a pub can be. Price-performance simply perfect.

The Rheinfelder Bierhaus or “Bluetige Duume” (Bloody Thumb) as it is also called by the people of Zurich, is a pub in the middle of the old town (Niederdorf). This is one of the few originals left in the city of Zurich. Good home-style cuisine (pork cordon bleu highly recommended) with excellent price-performance ratio. The restaurant is homely and the diverse crowd of guests (locals but also tourists) creates a pleasant and great atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and the kitchen is quick. Perfect for lunch!

This restaurant is a MUST if you want to try traditional Swiss food

We wanted to eat at Bluetige Tuume yesterday evening. Everything reserved. An hour later 6 guests and everything still reserved. You should take an example next door. This is how you drive guests away with the stupid reservation. Yes, that's it.

Classic beer hall in downtown Zurich. If you want a loud elbow to elbow beer hall experience this is the place. My wife and I are non drinkers. We said well when in Rome and went in. What fun it was the beer and food was authentic and amazing. I had an NA beer that was excellent. Schnitzel and spaetzle was beer drinking food that was great. We went back two nights later.

It's small but nice. You can eat very well. The service is very nice. The atmosphere is homely. I like it a lot

My problem was: where to go with 8 people, not extremely expensive and yet comfortable? The choice fell on the Rheinfelder Bierhaus and was spot on. As usual with the Beffa's: good service, moderate prices and hearty food. The fact that a round table is offered here rounds off the experience (in the truest sense). Highly Recommended!

Rustic, fine, not too expensive and beautifully located in Niederdörfli. There are beer halls that are a lot more subject to tourism.

Simple place but does the job. Good Cardinal beer. Grilled Vegetables were good. Had a nice time. Would recommend for a simple beer evening .

The Cordon Bleu with Spaghetti Napoli was good, the service was good, the ambience was good 😊👍🏼

Food was great but the dining experience was terrible. We get to choose one side dish to goes with our main dish. We chose something but decided to choose something else instead, almost immediately. The waitress made a silly joke about that’s two choices, which is not what we meant. She made a funny face to another group of costumers sitting at the same table and said something in German, they laughed. It is rude and made us very uncomfortable.

Still a remnant of the past few years. I'll definitely go and eat something again.

A good experience of a delightfully swiss dish. However it could have been a little bit larger! I didn't like that they sat someone next to me and should have had more varied table sizes!

Nice food, unfortunately no jus or sauce but mayonnaise from a bottle.

The three of us wanted to eat an ice cream, unfortunately the ice cream menu is anything but recommended, the selection is poor. Furthermore, the service staff had no interest in us and didn't bother with our affairs. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend the restaurant, it is no longer what it once was. We left the restaurant without consuming anything.

The pork schnitzel with noodles was amazing! The noodles have a subtle flavor that matches well with the gravy. We didn't have reservations but they were still able to seat us in the moment. Would eat here every night!

The last Swiss original in Niederdorf! Centrally located in the middle of Niederdorf, still very fair prices and good portions, as well as very quick and friendly service! The many regular guests speak for themselves.

Delicious Swiss food but not Swiss price! Main dishes costs ca 20-30 CHF per person (oct 2022) which is almost as low as German food in Germany (sigh). Nice service And the location is great, a bit walk from opera house and the canal.

It was a terrible experience ( We were sitting together at 1 table and made an order. Then the waiter put 3 more people to us. We were not warned that visitors would be allowed at 1 table as long as there was at least one free seat . It doesn't matter if you are in the same company or not. The waiter was very rude(( We had to leave! The administration really needs money...

Came there for one beer, the service was awful, moved is from table to table in a emty restaurant, charged extra tips without asking, it was not pleasant experience, better find another place for a beer.

My boyfriend really liked the Geschnetzeltes. He said it was very satisfying and tasty. As a vegetarian, I had the spaghetti with tomato sauce, it was okay but nothing special. They had more vegetarian options than you would expect, but still not a lot. The beer was great.

We ate a fabulous Zürich veal with rösti. It was very tasty. The waitress is very kind. The place is very lovely in a typical old building located in the old town, 10 minutes walk from the Opera. I will come back for sure !

The prices are good, as are the fries, but unfortunately the schnitzel is less so - it tastes like it came from the freezer. Unfortunately, the toilet wasn't too clean either.

By Zurich standards, a cheap restaurant with good food

Rösti with liver, with kidney or vegetarian, the food here is simply excellent. Zurich as it once was: authentic, no frills, real.

Fine, hot food, friendly service, although we had to be patient as there were quite a few guests outside and inside.

We were looking for traditional Swiss food and came across Rheinfelder Bierhaus. The service was great and fast and the food was delicious. Worth every penny. Thank you.
