The place is super nice and the food is very good! There are gluten-free and vegetarian options

The beef burgers are very good, the chicken one a little dry but good too. The atmosphere, at the entrance a little noisy because of a lot of children, but upstairs very pleasant. We recommend!

Went to have a “family burger”, but once we were seated, we were told that there are no burgers served on Sunday’s.

Friday evening date with madam. She asks for a burger without salad, obviously the burger was with salad even after asking. She calls the waitress back to remove the salad. 2 minutes later the burger comes back and we notice that they had simply scraped the salad leaves halfway... Honestly not phew, especially after asking twice. The burger was good but very expensive. Almost 10 bucks for Swiss beer too. I preferred to take the Guinness for once. In short, we remain on our end especially since we came from Geneva

Had the Tijuana Mama... yummy! The chips aren't as good as in other places but nothing to complain about either.

The all day English breakfast was good. Not as good as back home in England but a good effort for CH. Service so so. The best thing was a really nice decor and atmosphere with lots of young families etc. A good menu for any occasion; well worth a visit to support a local venture. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Edit in 2023: food is still average. Expensive, considering the small portions. Service has improved a bit so it feels more friendly. Check the bill before paying as we had items added that we had not eaten.

Great, reliable place in Rolle. Been many times and never disappoints. The menu is varied, with lots of veggie options and a decent menu enfant - and it is somewhere I tend to bring visitors as it is easy to book a table in advance via their website. Staff are always super friendly.

Ordered Take away Cheeseburger and Scheriffburger (5 Minutes after pick up we ate our burgers) . Nothing special and too pricey. Dry beef patty, old and not at all fresh ingredients such as salad. Bacon tasted like dry rubber. Very disappointing.

To be honest this was a very upsetting lunch experience, we went on a Friday and I ordered a gluten - free burger (for which I got charged 3CHF extra). They proceeded to serve me some soggy toast bread (they didn't warn me that it wouldn't be a regular bun), the food was just disgusting and I paid an insane amount to leave everything in the plate. When I asked the waitress about it she told me in a really dismissive way that she was a pastry chef and that making gluten free buns is too difficult, and then insisted that this is what you get if you want it without gluten. I don't understand why you would even put this on the menu, I also don't think that as a customer I need to hear about how you can't figure out a gluten-free bun, it should just not be on the menu if it looks and tastes like that. Anyways, please go somewhere else and don't waste your money if you are considering this place! The service isn't great and everything is overpriced.

We have called the restaurant in advance to reserve a table for Sunday brunch. No one picked up the phone, so we have decided to come early for the restaurant opening at 10:00. 4 people and a child of 1 year 3 month. We were the first guests to arrive, and received astonishing rude welcome. The manager asked us to leave as she said they were fully booked. Some tables were booked from mid day, which were more than enough time for us to have quick breakfast - but she said quote "It is not question of timing, We are fully booked". I pointed out that there is not a single guest inside the restaurant, but she did not want to hear about it. We had to return back to the rain outside, hangry and disappointed.

Great Gorgonzola burger, I had a great time

SInce writing this post, I've had an email apologising for our disappointing evening. This is appreciated but it's a shame that the evening didn't live to our expectation. I planned a group dinner for 11 people, reserving and choosing the menu 3 weeks before. A copy of the menu was shared with the restaurant. I made several phone calls and emails, which in the beginning were unanswered. On the day of our reservation we arrived and our tables were separate, with a table of 2 dining in-between us. I was a bit disappointed as I was assured we would all be on one table. After a 30 minute wait we pushed our tables together. We had to wait 1 hour for our meal to be delivered. The meal itself was OK, (the fish and chips was a disappointment, matcha milk shakes were good), but several items we ordered were missing. This meant I had to get up and down several times to ask for these items from one of the waiting staff, who were very busy as the restaurant was understaffed. Although we had ordered the items, I felt that they resented me asking for things that had been missed off our food and drink order. At dessert, I got up once again to speak to the waitress about the options. Rather than offer me a menu, she told me the name of 6 ice cream flavours and said I had to remember them to relate them to our party. So essentially, I then became the waiting staff. The whole experience was very disappointing, the organisation shambolic and the food average at best.

Fantastic venue for private events! Just celebrated my 40th here with friends. Great setup and perfect space to eat, drink and dance with friends. Smiley service, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend Blackbird House.

The setting is very nice, the food very good and the choice too, however the service REALLY needs to improve... table reserved at 12 p.m., we arrive at 11:56 and they tell us that we are "too early" and that 'you have to come “on time”… they put us at the counter looking at the wall and not at a table… 15 min wait for the first order and then 45 min wait for 2 cappuccinos… we ate without the drinks… Too bad.

We normally love going to the Blackbird but our last visit was very disappointing. The service was so slow and I had to remind them several times to bring things to the table ( even knives and forks). The food didn't seem to be as good as it usually is. I think it's time to find another burger place.

I had lunch on a Saturday early afternoon. I found that all dishes (salad and burgers) had too much sauce so couldn’t actually really taste the food. That was the first red flag. Next, the waitress was extremely slow. We waited 10min every time we asked something like an additional knife. Finally, 26 chf for a Burger is too expensive for Rolle.

Many vegan and vegetarian options, which is not common around here. The veggie patty for the burger is home made and was delicious. A fresh, natural and tasty vegetarian burger. Nice place, good atmosphere – and local beer!

KFC seems far away now! I had the pleasant surprise of discovering this place on a weekday evening (August 17, 2021, in real life). The two waitresses managed our welcome perfectly by being gracious and friendly. So, it started off well! Personally, I clearly went for the Crispy Fried Chicken. And there, it was a shock for the taste buds. Everything was homemade from start to finish! Two sauces are served to accompany the fries. They are both very different but delicious! The orange sauce is subtly spicy, the pink sauce is incredibly fragrant! What about fried chicken? There are no bones to gnaw, but who cares! It is terribly crunchy and absolutely not dry...the 2 most important elements are successful... Much less fatty than at KFC, the homemade breading perfectly coats these nuggets which you bite into in two bites. The reference for fried chicken is in Rolle, if ever.

I guess no one is answering the phone 5min before closing!!The food was bomb so I decided to give the place another shot 10 days later.Again the same waitress, again rude and again wrong order so I called back asked to speak to a manager she said he wasn't available so I asked what her name was : Laure-ann or something like that.It's such a shame, the food is good but unfortunately poor service.If I come back I ll make sure to ask first who's working that night and you should do the same!!
