Bodenwald in Grindelwald

The two sisters stayed here in early September 2023. They originally booked 3 days, but felt good and added another day, so they stayed for 4 days in total. It is really pleasant to sit on the balcony every morning with a cup of coffee and enjoy the hazy mountain scenery. I hope I can stay here for a month if I have the opportunity in the future.

What can I say? Hospitality is very important here. From booking to farewell, simply TOP! Highly recommended as it is right on the slopes to the terminal. Apartment as described, simple, but it has towels in the bathroom, everything included such as electricity, cleaning, etc. Many thanks to the innkeeper Ruedi, I would be happy to recommend the apartment.

This chalet was urgently booked about two weeks before arriving in Switzerland. So most of the chalets in Switzerland were fully booked and there were very few accommodations left. However, I was really lucky and found Bodenwald Chalet, and was able to stay for 4 nights for about 1 million won through the Swiss Tourism Office(?). When I woke up in the morning, the huge Eiger North Wall and the dense village view made me feel really good. There is a living room and a master bedroom with a double bed. The staff who guided us were very friendly, and since they also run a caravan park, it was very convenient to remove the trash. You might think it could be noisy because we are running a camping site together, but it is really quiet after 9 o'clock. You can even purchase beer right in front of the accommodation. COOP Mart is located at the Grindelwald terminal, about a 15-minute walk away, and is stocked with pork belly in the morning and afternoon. (This place has everything including garlic and ramen -> I haven't seen pork belly at the Grindelwald COOP Mart across the city on the other side for 5 days. no garlic) The Eiger Express that goes up to Jungfraujo Lake is really close. I really want to go again.

Nice view, very clean and nice people

When we were on vacation in Grindelwald with our daughter, we visited this restaurant after a long walk. Unfortunately we discovered that it was closed that day. As we were about to move on, we noticed that (presumably the owners) were sitting outside and waved at us in a friendly manner... when I asked if today was a day off, they said "yes, but we are still welcome to sit down" and were even able to order drinks. When we wanted to pay The woman told us it was okay, the drinks were bought! Rarely do we meet such warm-hearted/nice people and have a joyful experience that we will always remember fondly!

This is an amazing chalet. The location is perfect, at the slopes, about 400 meter from the terminal and facing the magnificent Eiger Nordwand. The chalet itself was spacious and had everything you need. Close enough to Grindelwald Grund station to walk ‘home’ after sight seeing.

Top price-performance! Beautiful, large and quiet rooms. Only 10 minutes walk to the terminal or Grund. 👍👌
