Must absolutely try , greatest view in town

I don't really like their music, it smells a lot like cheese quiche, but I still like it

If the manager didn't yell at his most important customers (the students) like he was the boss of the world, the atmosphere would be better. The prices are according to Zurich, but not according to students. There are opportunities for improvement aka changing managers.

This is a student bar where you can't have fun. Indeed, the boss is very bitter without ever sending a smile but only reproaches. Furthermore, it should be a student bar, but the prices are far too high... In short, this bar takes far too much advantage of its location, very unfortunate. I hope this will change in the future...

This bar has a lot of potential but sadly doesn't know how to use it. Indeed, the manager is very unpleasant. Every small thing you do, he comes and gets angry with you. It looks like you are in a quiet tea-room with an angry old person... In addition to that the prices are not students prices at all for a bar in the ETH... The only nice thing are the students working there.. Hope this bar will become more pleasant in the future..

I personally find it sad that the manager dictates strict rules about consumption and access to tables, instead of offering a friendly welcome that invites students to consume something, especially since it is a bar designed mostly for students. Greed is an ugly beast!

Pre-clubbing atmosphere every Thursday with a DJ

Beautiful view, great bar, pleasant crowd and therefore one of the top spots in Zurich. Beer from the region is served at a fair price, as a pitcher for those who are thirsty. Cocktails and snacks are also available. There are always DJs and live bands performing. (It's a shame) it's closed on weekends/public holidays.

The prices in this student bar are so low by Zurich standards that exchange students from Germany etc. don't faint when they see the menu.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the negative comments regarding staff. After lunch I wanted to sit in the sun with a friend. Since all the tables in the Einstein Cafe area were occupied, we sat at a free table in front of the bQm. After less than a minute we were sent away in a very aggressive tone. This didn't just affect us. After a short time all the tables in front of the bQm were empty. I was never spoken to in such a tone when I was a student and I always felt very comfortable on the ETH campus. I don't understand why bQm behaves differently.

Great place to enjoy a beer as a student after a long day. Every now and then some events are organized 🍺🍺

I am reading through the comments of those who gave a 1-star rating and it is obvious to me that they are just trying to bully the staff at bQm. To that "not reserved table" guy: have you ever worked one single day in your life? The "world cup" guy: why do you think that everyone is interested in this sport? It's always about Me Me Me Me Me. I enjoy bQm very much, love the staff and will keep coming. Don't let them talk you down or bully you, you are fantastic!!

Fascinating place and pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff and good music. Unfortunately, prices are the same as in all other Baars, but that's not a problem. Last Thursday I had very nice conditions and was able to make friends with other people in the Baar. Will definitely come again.

I had a very bad and terrible experience tonight. We bought beers and were sitting at a table without any sign for reservation. But suddenly the manager came to us and asked us to leave because the table was reserved. I was trying to argue that they should put a sign indicating the table was reserved. BUT THE MANAGER WAS KIND OF YELLING TO ME, saying ‘I allowed you to sit here and to study with laptops which is not allowed to! Do you still want to teach me how to do my job?!’ He is so rude and I have never seen a staff working at ETH behaving like this!!! There are also other students studying and I think he has no rights to infer what I am doing there(I bought his beers!)! I am planning to write an email to ETH and I will definitely call the police next time!

Actually a cozy bar, but we sat at the table for almost 10 minutes to wait for our colleagues when a gentleman (around 30, with a beard and a hipster cap) came up and said in a very unfriendly tone that we should order slowly since we were already there would sit here long enough. Since you don't go to a bar not to drink (and there are other places inside for students where you would otherwise sit), I found the aggressive manner a little unnecessary. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened. If non-consuming guests are actually such a huge problem that you watch like a vulture who sits where and for how long, I would find an alternative solution more elegant. The older, grim (and also very unfriendly) gentleman behind the counter doesn't help the overall mood either.

They refused to turn on the sound for World Cup matches (They prefer the music during the match?) even tho 90% of people were there only to watch the game.

Actually a cool bar where lots of cool people come and go. Unfortunately, we have had more and more bad experiences with the staff. The older gentleman seems constantly demotivated and at times downright insults you. I was also recently yelled at by another employee (around 30 and bearded) that I should eat my cafeteria food somewhere else because there was a bar here... For context: It was winter and we were sitting alone outside at the tables that, as far as I know, belong to the cafeteria . Be that as it may, the way of communicating doesn't work at all. It's a shame but we will avoid the bar in the future.

A bar inside ETH. Even tho it is kinda a bar in a student place, the price range is not so friendly to students. Just similar to the bars outside. I'd recommend to go one of the bars at Niederdorf instead of this one. And, yes, considering that they close at 11pm... they ask ppl to leave from 1030pm so you can't basically enjoy the midnight bar mood. ^^;;;;; hahaha...

I always really enjoyed being there. Mood is always pleasant. The selection is rather small but ok. I wouldn't describe the prices as low, but certainly lower than elsewhere. Also highly recommended in summer.

Nice place, but the staff (specifically one older guy) was very rude to me and a friend. Very condescending and purposely unhelpful. Be nicer man, new people don't know the rules yet.

The nachos cost about 9 francs iirc, and they weren't prepared adequately: it was impossible to eat the chips with cheese. All the cheese was clumped together and has to be eaten separately. The taste itself was delicious.

Such a nice bar with a lovely atmosphere. It's the perfecf place for students to hang out after a long week. It sometimes has live music as well which is always appreciated. The food is also quite nice! I did like the idea of having a little area with old consoles (like the Gamecube) for people to play on!

I always enjoy coming here. Not only is there usually an entertaining evening program and good-humoured and pleasant students here, you can also enjoy the view over Zurich from the bar on warmer days. The prices are reasonable, I just think it's a shame that there isn't a little more choice in the snacks on offer. See you next time!

Pretty clearly the place to be if you're a student and looking for a couple of drinks. Only trouble is that seats here are sparse if you come later in the evening.

Cheap drinks, good college vibe

Was and is always a good place to have a drink after a day of sports or studying and enjoy the view, or in the summer the sun on the terrace. However, after 4 p.m. it can quickly become very crowded here. But the atmosphere is still always great.

Good and with honest prices, the place is frequented by university students and others, absolutely recommended.

Best student bar in Zurich! Therefore it gets very full very quickly. After 6 p.m. you often look in vain for a free seat. Danger! Beer is not welcome in the Zweistein next door...

Cool student cafe below the ETH Polyterrasse, sporadic evening events. Cozy, with a small library, pleasant atmosphere with outdoor tables in summer.

The bQm was actually supposed to be for students, but in my opinion the prices are too expensive and comparable to bars in Dörfli. At times I was served very unfriendly and I never really had a good mood. There used to be events and concerts every now and then, but unfortunately these have been discontinued with a few exceptions.

Good selection of fondues at a great price for Zurich. All served in a tent. The main bar is also good and has live music some nights. Big student population as this is right in front of the university.

This is a student bar, but the views are really incredible. A great spot for a reasonably priced beer. Only open during the semester though.

The bqm is one of the best student bars in zürich. The prices are ok and every month there is a new beer of the month try. Realy conveniently placed in the eth main building. Pup quiz once a month to ckeck your knowledge

The bQm is ideally located for all students who need a little break after the rigorous daily study routine. The beer and the atmosphere are always great, which is why I keep coming here. They often have cool events, but unfortunately I've only attended one of them :P.

Nice view on the city, inexpensive beer, a selection of tasty snacks and small dishes. What more could you want.

THE bar in the university district. Good selection, good prices, good view. Fast processing by hard-working staff, so that even larger groups can get a drink quickly.
