Metropol in Zürich

After a tiring day at work, me and my colleague wanted to do something good for ourselves. We spontaneously went to the Metropol to sip an Aperol and enjoy the evening sun. Theo&Ash, thank you for the great service. The atmosphere was great, you were very accommodating and the food was amazing! We will be back!!

We love it!! Food is excellent and great service. Jasmina is always welcoming, you can definitely trust her with the wine selection! She is the best ;)

Hotel Metropol's conference facilities in Zurich offer a practical solution for business needs, featuring adequate space and essential technology. While the setup is competent, some areas require updates for a truly seamless experience. Overall, a solid venue for meetings.

I drove an extra 2 hours to this restaurant with my partner because I had only heard good things in the area. I can only recommend everyone to take a short detour here and let the restaurant convince you for yourself. Very tasty food and very courteous service:) Top top top!

terrible “sushi” 1. california roll was canned salmon and tasted like it. Like a tuna salad but fishier. 2. udon was really kung pow noodles. 3. green tea was undrinkably bitter 4. miso soup was just 100% different types of beans.

Very pleasant location. I was visiting Zurich with my girlfriend. We came across the restaurant here by chance. We were greeted very warmly by an employee named Theo and he left no wish unfulfilled! As soon as we are back in Zurich, we would love to come back!

We had dinner at Metropol on New Year's Day and it was simply fantastic! Thanks to Teo we were able to change the reservation from 2 people to 4 people, smoothly and on New Year's Day, just great, thanks Teo! we will definitely come back :-)

Good location and also great ambience! However, the Virgin drinks were recently adjusted and unfortunately in a negative way, I hope you can add the old drinks menu again.

I would like to tell you about my most recent experience in your bar, which took place on December 9th, 2023. Unfortunately, my visit left a very negative impression, especially due to the behavior of your bartender. During my stay I encountered unexpectedly aggressive and arrogant behavior from the bar staff. The bartender in particular displayed an attitude that was not only unprofessional but also detracted from my overall experience. His behavior was not only disruptive but also oppressive and created an unpleasant atmosphere for me and other guests. I understand that every employee may have their own unique challenges, but I believe it is important that hospitality staff remain professional and courteous at all times. This contributes significantly to the overall guest experience. I hope that you will take this incident seriously and take appropriate measures to ensure that such incidents are avoided in the future and that the atmosphere in your facility remains pleasant. Thank you for your attention and I hope that my feedback will help improve the quality of your service.

When we came in we wanted to use the toilet before we got something to drink. However, the receptionist was quite unfriendly and immediately called security. He then expelled us from the restaurant. We were neither drunk nor indecent. It's a shame to treat your guests like that, which is why I gave it a 1 star rating.

Casual bar in the middle of Zurich! Very cozy atmosphere, motivated staff and a chilled atmosphere! Try house beer! Went here for a drink before dinner on business.

Unfriendly ("on the side," says the waiter and the bar ignores me while waiting at the reception) and there is a ban on charging cell phones. Fortunately, there are alternatives.

Security service 0,000 Dress code means one time you can have a drink with ripped jeans and suddenly you're not allowed to... Simply decide whether you are allowed or not allowed, because there are people who come to have a drink and the security service suddenly decides that there is a dress code... WEAK!!!

Though this is called a Japanese restaurant the service staff has no idea about the sakes on the drinking list.

I wanted to spend a nice evening with my friends but the bouncer had a problem with our clothes, understandable if I was wearing indecent clothes or didn't have suitable clothes, such as tracksuits, but I only had normal leather jackets, sweaters and wider trousers with extra pockets on the side Don't understand why we weren't allowed in, it's just racist and cheeky!

Food and tea are delicious. However, the quality of service leaves much to be desired. The waiter waved off my request to sit inside the establishment, and the request to bring a blanket, because it was already cold outside, was ignored throughout my visit.

The restaurant is very nice, The decoration is also not too much. In my opinion, the ambience is perfect, plus the open view into the modern kitchen for customers. You can watch how your own food is produced right from the start. Just amazing!!! When you eat yourself, you notice that the products used are of high quality. There is nothing wrong with the service at all, rather you have to praise it for the top service! The sous chef Rebelo brought us the food personally and explained the products used and processing to us from A-Z!!! Simply great I can only recommend this restaurant!! P.s. Because the restaurant is of higher quality than other restaurants, the prices are very reasonable and you are happy to pay. 😍

We popped into the bar on a Sunday afternoon and had drinks (cappuccino and virgin colada). Drinks were good and staff were friendly and quick. Price-performance is appropriate for the location. The seats in the bar or under the arcades are relaxed (particularly nice under the arcades). However, it is not advisable to use the seats outside on Frauenmünsterstrasse (especially on Sundays). There are car posers driving down the street all the time, revving their engines non-stop.

Incredibly anti-social cooperation and zero friendliness

Just experienced an absolute no go. As an ignorant person, I mistakenly entered the outside area from the side. I stood there unaware and waited for an employee. Less than a second later, the supposed "assigning employee" ran up to me in an excited manner and instructed me in a completely exaggerated and aggressive verbal articulation that whatever occurred to me was to run in from the side. I tried in vain to explain to her that there was no sign anywhere that would indicate this. She took this seriously in the smallest possible way. It wasn't until I told her I was going to complain that she was able to calm her voice again. Such behavior in such a restaurant is totally unacceptable.

The service is excellent, the place is modern and there is a painting by a renowned artist in the bathroom. You won't regret your visit to this restaurant. Bay, the manager of the place, is very nice and friendly. Excellent service😊

Dear metropol squad! I was recently in your bar and unfortunately I have to complain about the service and the way we were served! The blonde lady didn't want to serve us for ages and when she finally came to the table, no hello at all and later accepted the order very arrogantly. I also think the lady was drunk. I will no longer visit the metropol for the reasons mentioned! I strongly advise the management to train the team on friendliness or to improve the team's personnel

Ordered the Salmon club sandwich. Got water from the tab. Excellent club sandwich with fresh ingredients. 2 types of salmon. One slice of smoked raw salmon and one slice of cooked salmon. Great quality and quantity. Instead of the serving it with Crips it would have been nicer with French fries. Overall nice experience. Service was very quick!

Super friendly crew who are very present but at the same time elegantly reserved and make the service very efficient. The menu is promising and varied. The atmosphere is chic and spacious.

We came for lunch at the restaurant but a blonde waitress made us a sign in a very rude way as if she was annoyed to have to put us at a table. It was the worst welcome ever I’ve experienced in a restaurant. We asked for a table in the shade, which we were denied and told in a manner with a lack of professionalism. After waiting for long minutes to have the menu like everyone else we went to eat elsewhere. I recommend this property to better choose its staff.

I walked barefoot one morning to the lake and then had a great continental breakfast here, on the terrace. I was served with kindness and the food & coffee were delicious.

Great ambience, fine food and friendly staff. Very good location to celebrate party. Employee “May” offered a delicious birthday dessert, which was a big surprise and very nice! I can only recommend the Metropol :)

Nice drinks, but after hearing waiter's comment 'next time no such trainer pants' on my friend's way of dressing, will never come back again (he had smart-casual long pants on, which apparently were a problem to sit at the restaurant's outdoor table). No dress code written anywhere and customers don't deserve such hospitalty. Disgusting attitude!

Outfits that were too sporty...weren't allowed in. You can't get in without a Rolex.

No entry, dress code too sporty?! I was appropriately elegantly dressed.

The staff struggled to find our booking despite the fact we have reserved a few days in advance. We got a lousy table that was so wobbly, we had to ask to have it stabilised or risk our drinks being spilled. It took nearly 20 mins for a coca-cola to arrive. The food was disappointing, the sushi platter was presented nicely but the rice was very overcooked, it was meh. The service was good but the overall atmosphere was of a train station waiting hall. And all this for chf200. We had an unpleasant experience and we feel so annoyed. Very very disappointed we chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary here.

Actually a great location, good food, drinks also great, but the majority of the staff is rather unfriendly and snooty, especially the waitress with the short blonde hair, a total disaster! Like she doesn't want to work at all. It's a real shame, we were there with guests from abroad and the impression was immediately bad. Too long waiting times for drinks... We were only in the bar outside, so the rating does not apply to the restaurant.

We went to Metropol for a few drinks in May and it was great! Great ambience and great drinks. A big compliment to the outstanding service (I think our waiter was called Ash).

The Aperol was good, the popcorn was not edible. I think they were old based on how they tasted. We also had to wait about 15 minutes until someone served us. Although it didn't have many guests. But the waiter was very nice and polite.

Fatal. You wait 20 minutes for the service and they take their time. Never again. Without a woman accompanying you, they won't even look at you.

Very beautiful interior, with an amazing atmosphere, clean and bright and no fuss. It inspires luxury. The staff are polite and welcoming, with quick service. Although I only visited Metropol for coffee, it definitely left the best impression on me and its cuisine will be worth a visit as well. However, as a coffee shop, this is one of the best, if not the best, in the city of Zurich. ***update: I was given the opportunity to try something edible from the menu. In the end, I was not denied, because the very good quality absolutely remains. I was thrilled. I might add the even more courteous service. Congratulations

Food - great! The service was very helpful, but we had to wait a long time. But quite ok for a Friday evening. The only negative thing is the very, very loud street if you sit outside: car hotspot.

Waiter was very rude! I was on a phone call and had to order something immediately and otherwise give up the table (waiter's statement: "Unless you are Muslim and can't order anything for religious reasons then it would be okay" I thought it was completely wrong and disrespectful! A carbonated water then cost a whopping amount 6.-

We were queuing outside at Metropol at around 4:40 p.m. on May 7th, 2023, as shown on the poster. We waited in vain for an employee to lead us to our seat. But several times a blonde lady who works there walked past us in an unfriendly manner, didn't even greet us and made us wait for 10 minutes, then came past us again with a very arrogant look and changed the poster in front of us to "we're closing now"!! I think if you work in a restaurant or with customers in general you should at least be friendly enough to greet your guests and politely tell us that unfortunately there are no more seats available and unfortunately they won't let anyone in... (even though it's open until 6 p.m. ) Training certainly wouldn't be bad for the staff!! were there for the last time!

From 6:00 p.m. there are security guards at the door who are very unfriendly, who don't even speak German properly and who treat you very indecently, that in such a noble bar restaurant. Not recommended this place.

Modern Japanese - but not authentic, is what the menu says, and that fits very well. The food at Metropol is excellent! The soft shell crab and the tiger prawn in tempura were brilliant, but we were also impressed by the pork belly and black cod. And gyoza too, and sushi too, etc. The atmosphere is stylish, the light is nicely dimmed in the evening. Perfect for an enjoyable evening.

The architecturally outstanding Metropol building, with its elaborately designed facade and beautiful arcades, offers a special class restaurant. We sat under the arcades and enjoyed the drinks that were recommended to us. We received friendly service even though we didn't order anything to eat. The views of the neighboring buildings and the atmosphere near Bürkliplatz/Bahnhofstrasse are very fascinating.
