A quaint restaurant in EnnetBaden. Has a limited menu. The steak was quite good and very nicely done. Service was good as well. Prices are on the higher side especially for liquor, etc. The grappa we ordered first was very bad - tasted like raw alcohol. When we told the waiter, he got another one that was really nice but unfortunately - both were billed like CHF 30 for each.

Our recent visit to Brasserie Schwanen was not our first, and one of the reasons for our return is the restaurant's remarkable interior. The dining room, designed in Art Nouveau style with neo-baroque wall paintings, creates a special atmosphere. Thanks to the high ceilings, the room feels airy and comfortable. The seating arrangement offers comfort and enough distance from the neighboring tables, which we really like. However, there was a small downer on our last visit: the main course, veal shank “Cremolata”, was unfortunately not quite to my taste. The plate was served piping hot, but strangely the veal shank on the edge of the plate was only lukewarm. An unexpected faux pas in an otherwise lovely stay.

The wine list is rather Swiss, where we were missing a nice Primitivo. Therefore, unfortunately there is no wine for a delicious panaché, but I am surprised that there is no such thing in upscale gastronomy. We then had a beer 0.3dl CHF 7.00 from the bottle and a soda 0.2dl CHF 4.80 from the open bar. The mussels are super tasty and the fries are absolutely crispy, a real treat for the palate. If you know about fish, Swiss Egli filet are always small and never big so I guess they are from Poland. For a restaurant of this price category I expect better quality and more Swiss products. The staff was nice but not attentive at all. We had to call them several times, ask ourselves for the dessert menu etc. Nice location but we won't return.

Nice location, disaster food quality and service. More then 1h after ordering the starter arrived, starters were “okish”. First after finalizing the starter we were „informed“ that the moules ordered as main was not any more available but we could get the salmon tartare with caviar. After another extensive waiting time, during which we repeatedly times reminded that we where still waiting for the wine the main course was served- however still no wine. The two meat tartare were ok the salmon tartare was uneatable, the 5 caviar pieces was bathing in Balsamico on the side and the complete over salted salmon was mixed in Creme fraiche no herbs, lemon etc. After another long waiting time and reminders there were still no wine nor the chips that was part of the meat tartare dish, they arrived 20 min later and only due to repeatedly reminders. The staff confirmed that the salmon was really to salty and uneatable and we did not “need” to pay for it and the chips, but “ please come again”… which will not happen. So sad to be see such a great location being run like this and offering such a bad quality.
