Bern hit and run, bakery and dessert shop, it was a revelation, everything from desserts to coffee was excellent, not exactly restricted but better than other places in Bern, the cappuccino and bread were also excellent, the shop assistants were kind, even if I don't speak their language, I recommend it to avoid spending excessively and to eat discreetly

Unfortunately very unfriendly. I'll be happy to stock up on croissants and rolls from the competition in the future.

There is a serious problem with your CHOPSTICKS. They are too hard and bring no pleasure. Please go buy a baguette in France to see the difference. It's a shame because the rest of the assortment is good.

5dl Berner TAP WATER for the price of 3.50 (!) Better fill the bottle for free with the same water from the fountain opposite. Pastries are fine, although at the upper limit in terms of price performance.

The coffee? Fantastic! Robust, warm, the kind of coffee that just makes your day better. I’d come back for that alone. The roast beef sandwich, though? Not so much. It was cold and tough - I could've used the bread in a medieval battle. A definite no-go for me. So, if you’re into a good cup of joe, give a shot. Just maybe give the sandwiches a miss.

Been to this bakery many times! But I haven't written a review yet! I love the sourdough breads, the plaited bread and all the delicious sweet pastries! The sandwiches are delicious too! A visit is worth it 😁👍

Best bakery in the city of Bern!

We go to Bern every Saturday and have tried a lot of bakeries. This one is by far the best. The many varieties of bread, the braids, the pastries are excellent and very fresh. A very good address, not necessarily easy to find under the arcades, but on Saturdays it's easy: that's where there's always a queue!

Extremely tasty croissants, I have never eaten better! The branch on Münstergasse is a dream. Small, narrow, but with so much charm. You can see the bakers at work and the small but fine selection is simply great. A real stand-up in the morning! Thanks and keep it up.

I went to the bakery specifically because I wanted some good, fresh sourdough bread. It was Saturday lunchtime and there was a small line in front of the store, which didn't bother me. At least that increased my anticipation. Finally it was my turn and I asked for sourdough bread. The saleswoman was pretty unmotivated and offered me the bread by the meter. I agreed. When I saw how difficult she was having cutting it, I asked if the bread was hard. That was denied. The knife is just blunt. I should have left the store at this point... The bread was so hard that I could only use force to cut it at home and my knife wasn't blunt. Unfortunately, this didn't just affect the "crust". I have the feeling that the bread was from the day before or was lying next to the heater in the shop. I think it's a shame that I was coldly lied to and at that price. I was really looking forward to my fresh dinner.

Coffee is very overpriced considering it comes from a fully automatic machine. Cappuccino 5.50 CHF. lol what is that? I'd rather go across the street to the MüGa Lounge and drink the same coffee for 1.50 at the Selecta machine. Employees not really friendly. Well, get well soon.

Super delicious pastries with friendly staff.

TOP inside, FLOP outside. Saturday morning, Marit in Münstergasse, at the front line: The master baker needs one hand to wrap the bread and the same hand to take the money. He knows about the impropriety, I have already reprimanded it!! His employees in the shop do this in an exemplary manner, handling the pastries with plastic gloves and collecting the money with the other hand. Bravo! I'll have to talk to food control.

Extremely rude waitress at the Kornhausplatz shop. The round, stout one. Hope she finds happiness in her life. We were standing in scorching sun with our 3 year old son waiting for the bus. He took shelter (hardly a minute) under their sun shade and the sadist waitress ran to close the shade making rude facial expression. I can never imagine how can one be so unkind to a little child.

There are many bakeries with good products in Bern. However, this one stands out and really offers a lot of fine baked goods. I will definitely eat my way through their range.

The best bread in town...I'm a fan of the "chueflade bread". Just great, keep it up. You stand out from industrially quickly produced bread, which contains many additives and E numbers. Your bread is better for digestion (more digestible), lasts longer and is simply a highlight in terms of taste. There should be more bakeries like you so that many can learn to appreciate slow, careful and lovingly made sourdough bread like yours again. Thanks for that.

Here you can find the very best pretzel croissants in all of Bern! And also a great selection of breads, pastries, lunches and so on... I always enjoy coming here and can only recommend it.

Amazing little cafe with a very friendly staff. Had a hot chocolate and a backed goods. The hot chocolate was standard but the backed goods were amazing. I asked if they had anything gluten free, they informed me that there was nothing made specifically gluten free, but there were two items that did not contain wheat. Would definetly visit again

Sorry no, too little quality at too high prices! 2 francs and more for small breads, over 5 francs for a small sandwich with 1 slice of meat, butter and nothing else... Plus staff who are gossiping among themselves and serving customers at the same time. It doesn't work at all! There are better and friendlier bakeries in the immediate vicinity (Aarbergergasse, Marktgasse, Thunstrasse, Kirchenfeldstrasse)

Yummy bakery! Bread, sweets and savory sandwiches for a quick lunch. Coffee and cappuccinos made with the machine but very good. There are 3 tables under the porches so assume you sit on the sidewalk. Advised!

When Housi's Brotloube at Kornhausplatz 11 in Bern closed its bakery, the new store Bread a Porter opened. At first there was nothing wrong with it - it was much better than its predecessor. Now, after more than a year, I, like other friends of mine, had to avoid the store. The surcharge on croissants is completely wrong because nothing has changed. On the contrary, they are never the same and are often baked for too long. We have been buying croissants and sandwiches every day since it opened. Since December 2013, people have no longer been greeted properly; instead, the staff continue to chat comfortably. I will never enter this bakery again. It seems to me that it has gone to the heads of Mr. and Mrs. Bohnenblust. What annoyed me most was that a certain saleswoman collected money on the right of the counter and placed the bag with the purchase at the other end of the counter.
