Bubo in Locarno

I had lunch during the week, we reserved to be safe because the place is not huge. The place is very nice and in a pleasant area, in my opinion it could do with a little renovation. A huge menu with lots of choice for everyone. As a vegetarian I found many dishes, even something I had never found in the usual sushi. All really very good. Right portions. Fast and precise service. Swiss prices obviously, from Locarno as expected, you spend. However we had a very good time, I would go back.

The sushi was very good but just way too big. You had to cut the suhsi in half. The tunatatar was very fine. Gyoza vegi was not good. It's a very small place so everything was very tight. I find the price rather expensive for Ticino.

The food is good. Cooked well. I was quite happy. However, the place is not very welcoming. not very well cleaned, and when I heard the waiter snort before a customer entered I was a little disappointed. I was warned, and I don't make comparisons with neighboring Italy, but the price for some dishes is slightly too high, therefore expectations are high. Overall I wasn't thrilled. And I definitely won't be going back anytime soon.

Beautiful, well maintained, phenomenal views of the lake and Ascona. Wonderful garden and swimming pool location. You feel really great and honored when the senior boss personally greets you at dinner and actually walks from table to table. First classic and old school. You don't find it that often anymore. We will definitely come back when we are in the area.

We found the Sushi very bad. Also weird that not a single Asian worked there among customer facing staff when we visited. Tangible examples for our very bad culinary experience: - Crispy roll had so much lemon flavor sauce in it you couldn't taste the fish anymore - Miso soup was super salty. I don't mean normal Miso salty. I mean half-the-salt-spender-dropped-into-it kind of salty - Then again, the ramen noodles were sweet. Very unconventional and not tasty. Also unconventionally much oil in the ramen. - Tuna was of low quality, I am almost certain it was artificially bred and not fished tuna which is poor quality given swiss food standards and the prices at the restaurant. Many fat strains in the Tuna fish. - Tea is out of the tea bag, again rather underwhelming for an up scale Asian restaurant All in all very bad experience.

The japanese fusion food are very good taste. I recommended Manzo Donburi, this plate is very perfect with Miso soup. Larcano Uramaki is also tasty. Actually, Dimsum in this reaturant is called 'Gyoza'. It has a good taste too. Service from staff is really nice. This place bacame my fav ❤️

We didn’t make a reservation but we turned up early enough to still have a table, tho only until 7.30pm. Worked ok for us since we were really hungry. Helped that the food arrived very promptly after we ordered. We even managed to have dessert. The restaurant filled up quite quickly after we arrived. Most of the food we had were really fresh and tasty. Definitely one of the better Asian food we’ve had in Switzerland.

I love Japanese cuisine and have been eating it all over the world for several years and frankly I haven't felt the flavors I wanted here. During our 11 day stay in Locarno, we went to Bubo several times for lunch and dinner! Despite the high season period, and the presence of Moon&Stars, they were always fast and very kind! Excellent cuisine and wonderful service, a truly perfect and complete team!

We went to this restaurant twice during our stay in Locarno. Even the first time, the service was underwhelming. However, the food was of A1 quality and also tasted wonderful. But the service was even worse than the first time. We had to ask several times for almost everything. The work was not done quickly. However, the two young gentlemen were always friendly. Our visit still leaves a bad taste in our mouths. Bad service cannot make up for even the best cuisine. A pity. Therefore all in all ONLY 3 stars.

Ich mag Sushi eigentlich nicht, also probierte ich es wieder einmal, ich nahm die Tempura Maki und die waren soooo lecker. Dazu noch Edamame die waren sowieso gut. Der Kellner war lustig.

La mia relazione con questo ristorante è caratterizzata d'amore-odio.A livello qualitativo (dico purtroppo per me) il cibo, soprattutto il sushi, è davvero ottimo.Quando si mangia o comanda presso questo ristorante si devono però prevedere delle cifre piuttosto elevate in quanto, se non si bada a spese, in due si possono tranquillamente spendere più di 100.-La qualità del cibo purtroppo non è la medesima nel servizio.Non è la prima volta che mi trovo a fare un appunto su questo aspetto in quanto ho già avuto modo di parlarne sia di persona sia tramite i social in seguito ad una recensione lasciata su Facebook anni fa.La ciliegina sulla torta è però stata nel mese di febbraio di quest'anno.Io e il mio compagno (nonostante, viste le svariate esperienze, lui fosse restio a comandare dal Bubo) decidiamo di contattarli per cena. Sondiamo il terreno per un servizio a domicilio, ma ci informano che i tempi sarebbero stati molto lunghi; ragion per cui decidiamo di fare take away. Il ristorante ci dice di passare per le 20:15 (dunque orario stabilito da loro). Ci presentiamo per quell'ora e il mio compagno si reca all'entrata mentre io attendo in macchina per via del freddo. Per i primi 15 min viene ignorato ed in seguito, dopo il primo quarto d'ora di ritardo, gli viene riferito che dobbiamo attendere altri 15 min! Il mio compagno a quel punto voleva andarsene, ma per amor mio decide di aspettare. Ci servono poco prima delle ore 21:00; quindi dopo ben 45 min di attesa, per di più fuori al freddo! Per scusarsi ci offrono il 10% di sconto, 2 birre e degli edamame (freddi). Voglio far presente che avevamo speso sui 160.- , dunque non proprio due spicci. Oltre al fatto che tutte le volte che abbiamo mangiato o comandato da questo ristorante abbiamo sempre speso più che bene.In seguito ad una situazione del genere, a dir poco imbarazzante, ci saremmo aspettati qualcosa di più di un 10%. Avendo mangiato in molti ristoranti, sia locali che in giro per il mondo, sappiamo bene che (per chi ne è all'altezza) ci sono ben altri modi di scusarsi con il cliente.Purtroppo, ancora una volta, gli esercenti hanno dimostrato di preferire di gran lunga il soldo al cliente. Peccato. Personalmente, come cliente, mi hanno del tutto persa.

Date le restrizioni abbiamo usufruito del servizio delivery. Il sito è facile da navigare e la scelta è vasta. Abbiamo ordinato sashimi misto, uromaki double salmon (fantastici), maki al salmone e hosomaki al tonno piccante. Tutto davvero ottimo! Servizio delivery ben organizzato e gentile, ti chiamano poco prima dell'arrivo per avvisarti! Quando i ristoranti saranno di nuovo aperti andrò volentieri al ristorante!! Consigliato.

Das Bubo Sushi und DimSum Restaurant befindet sich im gleichen Gebäude wie die Tessiner Kantonalbank, nahe beim Bahnhof. Parkplätze hat es mehrere in der Nähe, auch die Einkaufsstrasse mit Markenläden und die Piazza Grande sind nicht weit weg. Geeignet also, um nach dem Shopping-Bummel noch auf ein Sushi vorbei zu schauen.Das Restaurant ist klein und chic. In dunklen Farben, passend zur Einrichtung mit Naturholz-Lamellen und Weinflaschen an den Wänden und grossen Glasfenstern. Moderner Grosstadt-Chic eben. Die Bedienung ist passend dazu ebenfalls in schwarz-grauen Farben gekleidet. Für uns stimmt das Ambiente.Die Auswahl ist gross genug, die Portionen genügend (grosszügig wäre anders) und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis aus unserer Sicht wie erwartet. Also eher am oberen Rand und nichts für Sparfüchse. Wir hatten ein Sushi Dinner for two, was allerdings für sich alleine nicht für zwei Personen reicht. Zusammen mit Frühlingsrollen und 2x DimSum-Vorspeise, sowie einem Tempura-Mix und für jeden ein Dessert hatten wir genug. Preis bei 135 Franken inkl. 2x2 Tee im durchsichtigen Kännli. Die Qualität von allen Speisen war gut bis sehr gut.Bei unserem Besuch an einem Dienstag füllte sich das kleine Lokal zwischen 18.30 Uhr und 19.15 Uhr komplett. Alle Plätze waren besetzt, eine Reservation ist daher sicher angezeigt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und fix, die Wartezeiten dem vollen Lokal entsprechend aber noch angemessen. Wenn der Preis kein Hindernis ist, können wir das Lokal empfehlen.
