A great restaurant, excellent and rich dishes, a warm welcome and a memorable setting. The only downside is the noise which can quickly get loud in the rooms, especially since the table next to us had a dog inside who barked a lot which spoiled our discussions.

Eating casually in a country atmosphere is a change. In this restaurant, good manners and monetary services are put aside and that really feels good. Welcoming, attentive, present, cheerful and undoubtedly a little good-natured, the owners of these places are very endearing and unique in all the aspects mentioned just above. It’s really a plus and makes you want to come back. In this restaurant, you have to be patient because the owner is alone in the kitchen (this is indicated on the menu). Waiting time is approximately 45 minutes. But don't panic, because in the meantime, a large and excellent salad will be served to you with bread. It passes the time well. The food is excellent and homemade. The roestis are the main quality of the restaurant and it shows. The dishes were really well stocked and if it's impossible to finish there is always the possibility of packing up what's left for home. The only downside because you have to find one: I found that the “roesti with raclette” dish lacked a bit of raclette and the cheese lacked taste. But you have the opportunity to form your own opinion with the photo below. At the end, digestives are offered with almost unlimited consumption (bottle service). I've never seen this in any other restaurant and it looked like it was homemade too. WELL DONE ! I highly recommend this place which is a change from “traditional” restaurants. We had a great time and we will happily come back to this somewhat lost but full of good things.

Nice little pub where you can get something to eat and where the “barber” serves himself. Was very nice. But the absolute HIGHLIGHT were the caramels that were on the bill. That alone makes it worth a visit. The best caramels I have ever eaten!!!!!!

du Maillard and the rosti…oh la la la! The Food: The rosti was a crisp and could be on the outside, and soft on the inside! Beautiful mushroom cream and a good wine to indulge with. I wish we would have gotten some of the beef to go with it, but we would have been waddling out. The complimentary caramels were simply delicious and the house made digestifs are dangerous (haha)! The Service: A borderline flamboyant gentleman was busy running around tending to the tables - I don’t speak French but seemed to strike up conversation. The Atmosphere: The top of a hill, on farming land, lies this large farmhouse. We sat in the attic, one of the strangest and unique moments our group encountered - we talked about for days after. I would definitely come back, with a larger appetite and maybe walking to the place instead of driving - earn those calories ;)

Overall great experience, the food is also great like homemade from the steak to the champignon sauce. The staff was also really friendly. I recommend and definitely will return.

Super friendly welcome, the owners are really in a good mood, we feel like home. The fondue was excellent (we even let you choose the quantity for those who are hungry) and the caramels at the end were delicious. In short, that's good!

Good welcome. We suggest booking in advance. The menu is typical, local with lots of choice. The temperature of the dishes is correct. We enjoyed our meal, the cooking of the food, the taste and the seasoning. Beef rump steak on slate, mushroom sauce, roestis and salad 30 Fr. Roestis with mushroom sauce and salad 22 Fr. The quality/price ratio seems correct for the place. The portions are generous. We regret the loud modern music not suited to this rustic and typical place. 37 Fr per person. There is parking near the farm.

Excellent cuisine. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately an extremely noisy table next to us. So difficult discussions.

Superb farm run by a family with a heart on their sleeves. The portions are more than generous and the prices are unbeatable. If you want to last until dessert, only count half the people for the roesti. Their ham on the bone is exquisite and the beef on slate with their mushroom sauce 🤤. And the highlight of the show, the caramels and bottles of digestives placed on the table at the end of the meal will fill the last gaps in your stomach. A word of advice: Make a reservation otherwise you won't have a place due to the success of this restaurant.

At lunchtime with colleagues and guests, a superb experience of conviviality, kindness and gastronomy... everything is delicious and made with love. Authenticity always pays and the Cuche family is the example. Thank you and well done :)

Warm welcome from the owner, generous cooking from the owner, friendly service from the children, in short, authentic people who still know the meaning of the word welcome, and to top it all off, roasts that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A magnificent discovery. We will come back for sure.

A very pretty alpine farm with an extra meal, astronomical quantities with the possibility of taking the rest home....the bike ride was tough but definitely worth the trip 😉

An authentic place! A real chance to have this kind of restaurant at the top of an alpine pasture with an excellent atmosphere. If we talk about the dishes it serves, you will be greatly surprised by the quality, the price is more than fair, and the caramel offered with the coffee is emblematic!! A real country atmosphere, your dog will also be hydrated thanks to the bowls provided for our 4-legged friends. Les Maillard is an experience not to be missed!

We came to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday as a family. We ate the traditional roesti, meat on slate and boletus sauce. We feasted. We had a wonderful evening. The setting is authentic, the owners are very friendly, the food is generous and of very good quality, the wine is divine. We received the digestive and soft caramels after tasting copious desserts. We have been here before and we will come again. Young and old alike, we were all enchanted. Absolutely to be done again as soon as possible! P.S. Remember to book early because the tables fill up easily.

Warm and friendly welcome, despite a little hiccup at the start, we had an excellent time. Really very very good meal, perhaps a little too crowded, but the owners managed it very well

I came at 1:30pm on a Thursday and the restaurant was very busy. There are 3 cozy dining rooms. I didn’t make a reservation. Oops. but with luck, a table was just departing and I was only 1 🤗 The perks of solo travel… They have Wi-Fi so I was able to do some work while waiting. I ordered a cafe and it came quickly along with a pile of homemade caramel slices. For my meal, I chose the Rostis with jambon and added raclette cheese. I also added the mushroom sauce and it did not disappoint! At the end of the meal, they offered a complimentary Digestif. I was given a half a bottle of homemade apple flavored brandy and a plate of caramel for dessert ! My leftovers were Vacuum sealed, something I’ve never seen before. It was perfect for my backpacking trip. Overall excellent service and wonderful small touches! I would return each time I find myself in La Chaux de Fonds.

The best Rosti in the whole region in a simple place in the middle of the countryside. Everything is homemade! Cream cone and caramels for dessert.

If you want a warm atmosphere, good, hearty local dishes, with caring owners, then you've come to the right address! Great hostel (be careful it can be difficult to access in winter if there is snow)
