Café Gandhi in Genève

I generally don't write reviews. Food doesn't taste good even though it looks appealing. Not worth the money IMO.

Pleasant service, the dishes are good (some without more, others really good) but how EXPENSIVE is it! I took a thali, with 7 small portions of different dishes, the rice is not included and neither is the naan (at 50CHF the dish is still excessive)... the shrimp portion at 11CHF had 2 shrimps ...5.5CHF per shrimp anyway. But besides all that, it's COLD! I ate with ski underwear and a coat and I was cold, like our friends... we'd have to turn on the heating anyway.

We went there for my son's 16th birthday. Everything was perfect. No complaints. We will come back with pleasure. To recommend with eyes closed

Really bad customer service. Food was average. Far better options at other places in Geneva for Indian food with way better customer service. The restaurant was half empty and we were asked if we had any reservations. The day before we made reservations but the person said they were not open yet even though the website stated opening time at 11 and the email in the reservation stated the same. The server did not even greet us or bothered to put any effort into providing any service verses other customers around us. We had to ask to have the water and it took so long for food to arrive. We ordered thali which is what we went in for but was average in taste. Overall we felt like unwanted customers. If you are visiting I would look somewhere else for not only better customer service but also for better tasting food.

The restaurant is really pretty, and the atmosphere is nice! The vegetarian thali (Gujurat) is well served and very well presented, and the dishes are really very very good! For two people, we shared three starters and a thali, which was more than enough. The staff is super welcoming and speaks French and English.

Excellent place, cozy small but the people and most importantly the food, amazing Punjabi Aloo samosa, Butter Naan, Matar Paneer, Aloo masala and Biryani are really good. Good service and finally Indian Chai ☕️ is top most rated - Adrak vali Chai (Ginger Tea) was classic - a must try.

Do not try this place if you are vegan. Based on other reviews saying they had vegan options, we decided to try this place. When we went we asked which items were vegan and they said 'well these dishes don't have cream in but we use a bit of butter, it's for the taste, that's okay right?' we were like no and he was like 'but you're not allergic so it doesn't matter'. Another server tried to convince us that the options were vegan but after that we didn't trust them at all so we left. Wouldn't recommend if you don't want to risk any dairy being in your food.

A nice place located in the heart of the Geneva , it's got a nice cosy atmosphere.. Food was amazing .. even better than any restaurant in India ..The drinks were nicely made, service was excellent. The staff was polite and attentive. The lamb samosa served as starter was to die for .. Main courses were also amazing .. Baingan bharta never tasted so amazing .. lamb , rice , naan , dal , chicken all were amazingly good . That being said overall it was an excellent experience and will happily recommend it to any Indian visiting Geneva to try their food .

The prices are all reasonable especially as a location in the centre of Geneva. The food i had was all spiced to greatness with the naans and rice being particularly great. The curries were all really good although not the best I've ever had, but still very serviceable. Will definitely be returning.

Had a very good dinner: typical Indian tasty food with lots of yummy spices! Service was good and friendly. They were very accommodating with my dietary needs. Vegan/vegetarian options available. Thali is also on the menu! This restaurant has been there for quite a few years but it was redecorated a little while ago - nice colors, relaxed atmosphere. I definitely recommend it! Went a second time and loved it again: staff members are really kind, food was tasty and very varied - someone in my group tried the tali dish and it was super yummy! We sat outside and the breezy evening made everything even nicer.

Service was rather slow, but definitely friendly. That maybe due to just reopening the terrasse for in-person dining after Covid measures. Most of the food was delicious and while the korma wasn't the best, I particularly loooved the butter chicken. The cheese naan was super cheesy and tasty. We had our delivery order ordered through takeaway / just eat. Instead of 55 minutes the delivery took over 1.5 hours. The biryani was extremely dry, it was basically colored rice with dry lamb. The chicken tikka masala was inedible, the chicken was burned and the sauce was smokey. The lamb corma was good. The naans were dry, tasteless and chewy.
