Café LIV in Lauterbrunnen

We visit Mürren several times a year, and always come back to Cafe Liv for the best and friendliest service. Each time we feel well taken care of and the warm and cosy atmosphere is the perfect place for a cup of coffee and chat.

Super tasty vegan options, great coffee, and warm, cozy vibes, amidst the magical village of Mürren! Many thanks for filling out bellies and hearts on our last day in Switzerland ♾️❤️♾️🙏

Amazing coffees, cakes, and sandwiches. The cakes were homemade and amazing. It was also very child friendly with toys for them to play with. Our family had such a lovely lunch here!

We love the cute little cafe with its charming, funny and lovely staff. We've tried everything: delicious homemade cakes (also vegan and gluten-free), crispy sandwiches, delicious soups and the best coffee creations in all of Mürren. In summer there is no nicer place to sit in the sun - with a converted view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau included. We're always happy to come back!

Very cute little café to feel good in. I love the vegan cake there, great selection of milk alternatives but also recommended for non-vegetarian/vegan guests. If you need a small souvenir, there are great homemade things like jam, tea, lip balm, etc.

I had a homemade cauliflower soup and it was fabulous! It came with brown bread which complimented it perfectly. It was a wonderful experience!

Amazing cafe!! Prices very very good, I had an Edelweiss tea and vegan Coconut cake before we went up the mountain and when we came back I had a Baileys Coffee, my husband had a latte and Apple, caramel and Walnut cake to start and a Cafe Royal (coffee with a hazelnut liqueur) when we returned! Everything was so tasty!! Service was excellent and very friendly! Thankyou for having us!

Cozy little café with small town vibes! I enjoyed a nice ham & cheese croissant and coffee after hiking up from Grütschalp. Didn't get to try the pastries although they looked so tempting. I was greeted by Constance and Navanya with such warmth and kindness. Thank you both for brightening up my day :) Tip: Come before the after-ski rush that happens around 3-4pm!

What a charming and cozy small cafe on the main street of Murren! Perfect for a a cup of great tasing coffee drink and pastry. We stopped in on our hike from Murren to Gimmewald. Only 5-6 tables inside and couple of tables outside ; even though it was cold, people did enjoy the outside seats as well. I has the Scotsman coffee which was a take on the traditional Irish coffee with Scotch instead of Irish whisky. The pastries were all fresh and service was great. Thank you Berivan for making our short stop over pleasant. Hope to visit soon.

We spontaneously stopped to eat cake. The gluten-free and vegan offerings particularly appealed to us. The service was very nice and it was very comfortable to take a break here. Highly recommended and in our opinion also at a very good price.

When I came to Mürren Village, I went to a nearby cafe and there were a lot of ice drinks and desserts that Koreans like!! The owner is also very kind!! Everyone please come🥹💗

Very friendly atmosphere and attitude, tasty food served with a bit of fancy what is added special good impression. Styled space with big viewing windows. Very pleasant atmosphere. And the most important is that you could eat something at the time when everything(all restaurants ) is still closed

Winter holidays at BEO are a must at Cafe Liv in Mürren. The homemade cakes are a delight not only for the palate. I particularly enjoyed the apple walnut caramel. I even got the recipe for it without having to wait too long. Thank you so much for that, I'm going to bake it tonight and hope it's just as good as it was at Cafe Liv. Kind regards from the Unterland, as soon as we are back in the BEO, we will definitely come back.

A lovely family orientated coffee shop, amazing staff and atmosphere. Felt at home and welcomed as soon as I arrived, Also got a chance to fly with Jonathan in his Paraglider who is based there. Awesome experience. Will be back next year for more coffee, cake, company and flying!!!

Great cakes in beautiful environment.

Every time I step inside this place, a warm sense of magic reaches my senses. Time seems to slow down, while each bite of cake rewards you with its softness and sweetness after a day of skiing or hiking. Constanze and the staff will welcome you in this cozy space with a smile and you can also enjoy a good reading about the history of these mountains. This café is really special to me and it definitely has a very special place in my heart. One of the reason i fell in love with Switzerland and made me decided to stay, because it's one of the places i learnt what being a community and looking after each other is. So, come for the cake and find way more.

The ambiance is beautiful with a view on the mountains, the sun shining thru the windows and bossanova music playing in the background. Very welcoming and cozy. The staff were very friendly. Drinks and food very tasty.

Such a cute & cozy Café in the heart of Mürren! The selection of homemade cakes is amazing - I can warmly recommend the vegan almond cake and the dirty chai latte.I also enjoyed the atmosphere, the two ladies make this Café an experience!

It's very small, but if you're lucky enough to get in, it's cozy and warm and has great people watching!! The coffee looked and smelt great, but we opted to have a couple of beers with our delicious sandwiches. Our server was on her second day, a very chatty and friendly woman from Nebraska, and she was doing amazing - made everyone feel welcome and taken care of.

We have the best coffee ever at this incredible place! The carrot and orange cakes were also so delicious. They were totally handmade and surely made with love and passion. Very few times I have experienced such a delightful food. The place is truly cozy inside, and there is a great outside area, with good options for parents with kids. I will surely come back, and I can recommend it to everybody!

A nice little cafe in the town of Murren. About a short 10 mins walk from Murren cable car station. The soup of the day was awesome and reasonably priced. Recommended for a short break at this cafe.

Very friendly, kind service with cozy inside options or outside seating in the sun or shade. I had a sandwich, slice of cake, and a coffee outside. Good vegan and vegetarian options.

We were actually there for the via ferrata but changed our mind due to the weather. The hot chocolate and vegan brownies were a real pick-me-up and very tasty. In addition, the conditions were very friendly.

Absolute recommendation! We were here with 4 boys and loved it. The two waitresses were super friendly, the delicious cocoa defrosted us and the brownies were the tastiest I've eaten so far! Anyone who walks past here is making the mistake of their life. In addition to the system catering and cafés and restaurants geared towards sales, this is the pleasant way to slow down. Thank you for the nice experience, the friendly conversation and this experience!

The small, sweet Café LIV simply impresses in every respect. You walk into the cute café and just feel good. A big point for this feeling is the very friendly employees (especially Jasmin and her nice colleague (name not known)). The furnishings are also very high quality and everything has a matching look. The food and drink is also simply excellent and completes the rating with 5 well-deserved stars. Definitely a café to recommend!! LG

Today we're off to the mountains. This cafe offers vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free pastries and drinks. The lemon cake was airy and tasty, the glaze was not only beautiful but also sweet. Highly recommended, only the price is a bit steep but it is also a very touristy place.

Felt like a welcomed visitor in someone's home. One thing that I absolutely loved about vising Café LIV was even though the food and the drinks were incredible was how the entire experience made me feel like a true guest in someone's home. For sure, there are an array of things to order to eat (the toasted cranberry and cheese sandwich is so good I ordered it two days in a row) and drink (the chai was delectable) but the real mystique is in the experience of enjoying the serene beauty of Murren while watching a business that literally is being run out of someone's home. It was such a small thrill when the employee (owner?) said she remembered me from the day before (it really is all about the little things) after going in again but believe me when I say that if you find yourself inside the café early in the morning and the sun is just beginning to warm Murren as it starts to hit the side of the espresso machine and the stereo is playing Françoise Hardy's "Comment te dire adieu" (I Shazam-ed it), as you walk out and sit on one of their open-backed chairs waiting for your order, just sit there. Enjoy the moment. Savor it. It took me nearly two decades to get to a place like Café LIV and my memories are a little sweeter because of it.

The cappuccino is a decent coffee if you are missing your flat white in Switzerland. Nice place to sit. Really good cakes and sandwiches.

Totally OUTSTANDING ! We went there twice. I recommend the cheese and cranberry sandwich. Also the chocolate cake with cheese cake. All the coffee drinks were excellent … cappuccino and espresso … coffee was totally superior !

We had THE BEST lunch here, a few weeks ago. I am craving the nachos from far away. We also took home some banana bread and lemon cake to enjoy for evening dessert, and both were so delicious!

It looks like an ordinary hot soup, but it’s so amazing after you eat it! The taste is very rich and mellow, with a slightly choking aftertaste. You have to wait for it to be cooked. It’s suitable to have a drink when the weather is cold. Highly recommended!

It was raining so I stopped by to have a cup of warm coffee. Vanilla latte costs 5.8 francs, toast costs 10.5 francs, and payment is made by credit card. The vanilla latte came out hot and I was able to drink it warm for a long time. They give you a small spoon, but if you eat it with the milk foam on top of the coffee, it tastes much smoother. I asked for the toast to be cut because we were going to eat it for two people, but they gave us two plates, forks, and knives. thank you! The vanilla latte was delicious, and the toast was very healthy. It seemed to have cheese, raspberry jam, and arugula inside, and the bread on the outside was a gluten-free whole wheat bread, so it broke easily, so I cut it with the knife and fork they provided. Other foreigners often drink hot chocolate topped with whipped cream. It is a cafe with a cozy and warm atmosphere. It warms my body well on a cold day. Danke!

I forgot to ask for lactose free milk, so I paid the price shortly after, BUT, it was worth it because the coffee was so good! This is such a cozy cafe, with yummy pastries, and various coffee options. You won’t regret it.

A nice, friendly German has moved to Mürren :-) and runs a cozy café with delicious hot drinks - I can recommend the Chai Latte! We had a really nice 10 minutes with the lady of the house - it's really nice to sit here (we didn't do that because of the hike) and she took hot drinks with us. Please come by - it's worth it! Thanks for the nice time and the delicious chai latte!

Mega fine cappuccino, super delicious homemade cake - here chocolate curd cake. You don't have to wait long - we took the last two places and the three ladies are super nice and quick.

Enjoyed such a delicious vegan sandwich, parsnip soup, vegan chocolate cake and coffees here today with my partner. The food was delicious- I'm already thinking of how I can recreate the sandwich when I get back to the UK! When we came to order they had run out of the ciabatta that the sandwich usually comes in, luckily they kindly agreed to make us them with some brown bread (delicious not sure if it was Rye?). Anyway the sandwich was so good I'm still thinking about it now... My partner ordered a 'dirty chai' which we would also highly recommend ❤️😊
