Sulwald in Lauterbrunnen

I can only recommend the fondue, we had the tomato fondue, the porcini mushroom fondue and the regular cheese fondue, all with local cheese from the region. There was also Panaché and Zwickelbier from Rugenbräu from Interlaken. The staff was very friendly and loving. I can only recommend the Sulwald Stübli restaurant.

Beautiful location with stunning mountain views and conveniently just at the start of all outdoor activities that Sulwald offers and... that's about it when comes to the positives, unfortunately... We visited today while the place was just slightly busy - when we sat down most of the guests present already had their orders on the tables in front of them. Meanwhile it took the staff 20 minutes to take our order. We even went inside to ask if we could order directly there since we only wanted to grab a quick bite and a drink. We were told that we'll be served at the table. They didn't specify it would take that long... After taking our order it took another 25 minutes to actually receive the food. We ordered 3 simple hot dogs (with one costing a whopping 9chf!!! that's the list expensive I've ever seen in a mountain hut!) and a beer so not necessarily a complicated dish to prepare... BUT! Waitress present was busy serving her friend a free coffee at the table next to ours so I do understand she wouldn't have time to focus on other visitors. Big shame because it used to be such a simple yet cozy and sweet place to grab a tasty bratwurst off the grill or have a quick Glühwein before heading to the sledding track. Charm is unfortunately gone for us...

Brilliant location and amazing views of the Bernese Alps! In addition, the mountain or the hut is not as crowded with tourists as some others. It's quiet and relaxed. Only the prices are very ambitious, even by Swiss standards. 5.50 CHF for a bottle of (warm) Rivella is just cheeky.

If you’ve found Sulwald Stübli, you’re in for a treat. The small gondola, the incredible views the welcoming hosts, and fresh local food - well, it’s all simply amazing. Soups, sandwiches, fondue, and local meat and cheese trays are the foundation of the menu. While there, we took time to explore the trails and take in the scenery. All-in, this is slightly off the beaten path, and we’ll worth a morning or afternoon.

Perfect excursion destination with breathtaking views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and its mountain peaks. It is a simple mountain restaurant. But the operators make a lot of it. Keep it up 👍

Wonderful little place in the middle of the Alps, the view is to die for. Service is fantastic, our hostess Sabrina was incredibly nice, we really felt at home. Well, except for the amazing mountains, sadly we don't have those at home :-). The food was very tasty and mostly from local producers. Overall we had a great time!

We wanted to sweeten our waiting time with cappuccino and ice cream until we got to the small one. Take the gondola to Isenfluh. When I asked the young waiter's daughter whether the Spartag ticket was valid for the gondola ride, I only got the harsh answer that they were a RESTAURANT. Later she apologized, they kept asking, the tickets would be paid for down at the valley station. For GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, I would like a short, friendly answer, no matter how often asked. In addition, the pub and the railway are housed in the same building, and it is not obvious to those unfamiliar with the area that these are two completely different businesses. =)

It's so quiet and has an open view from the top, and the food is delicious and cheap. However, if you use a car, the road up to Byeolmaro Observatory is about three times longer... Don't be suspicious in the middle and follow the map to the end.

We stumbled upon Sulwald Stübli during our hike and we’re glad we stopped by. We had the best meals in Switzerland! There was live music and only the locals dined there. The view was incredible. Love it!

You leave your car in Isenfluh and take a gondola to the top. You will find great views and good food offered by the one and only restaurant. The owner and service staff are very nice and helpful. When you want to get back down you have 2 options, the gondola or scooters. You should be in good physical condition to use the scooters. It's all downhill and you determine the speed with the brakes. If you plan to use the scooters do not buy the round trip ticket for the gondola.

Might have gone here for lunch after sledding but the owner was a bit passive aggressive to us for putting our things on the table outside while we put on our sledding clothes (there were maybe two other people outside so it wasn’t busy). A magical place. If you are planning to be near Lauterbrunnen, take the bus to Isenfluh , then the short gondola ride to Suwald Stübli. We had a delicious apricot Kuchen, nice coffee and hot chocolate. Today, there was a band playing traditional tunes and they offered a special menu. We chose to walk down the paved road back to Isenfluh. Many wild flowers and several geocaches along the way.
