Café Oscar in Zürich

Long waiting times even though there were three of them at the counter, the conditions were also very unfriendly. In addition, 30 centimes more if you use the macchiato with oats instead of normal milk, the surcharge has not been available in Zh for a long time.

Rude staff – wouldn’t put my money here again.

Waited 25 minutes for a coffee. At first I was skillfully ignored, then put off twice with the words "I'll be right back" and still continued to serve new guests who had sat down, and finally I was able to place my order. Coffee only came within 5 minutes. I was able to pay for it straight away. I'm still not satisfied.

Had super fine sushi 🍣🍣 The service was also very friendly. A bit expensive, but it's also Zurich 😄

A railway station coffee shop. Too much luggage, everyone in a hurry. Not the best place you'll find in Zurich for a coffee, but if you want a coffee at the station the this does the job. If you not been to Zürich before though be aware the is a whole world of choice in the mall under the station.

Nice self-service café (staffed part in the back area). Access from the main hall next to the meeting point under the clock. Very cozy rooms with a nice selection of pastries, sandwiches…cakes. It has regular tables and high tables. Everything is completely new and very nicely decorated. Good coffee and fresh peaks. It takes 5 minutes to get to the tracks. Beautiful 🚻 in the cafe.

Oscar Special... Not recommendable. 8 CHF for small warm chocolate with a small almond peak. I was looking forward to it, smooth Nullinger. Staff has McD mentality 🥶 Disappointing, not again.

Have breakfast at Zurich station? At the Oscar cafeteria you sometimes have to wait a little in line, but the breakfasts are worth it. The croissants are very delicious. Excellent interior atmosphere, with good music.

First of all, we come in all screaming. Then someone orders me and I'm just ignored. I don't recommend that anyone go to this cafe, rather go to one that's worth it.

If the word expensive had a store, this would be it. I understand of course that everything in Switzerland ranges around these prices. But really we only got two something like toasties along with a bottle of water and paid €26 I can't say that what we ate was bad. Certainly the location is not something remarkable But it really is definitely not worth the money at all.

Cool station restaurant for a short break, delicious, transparently advertised offer. Unfortunately, when I visited, the employees were totally unmotivated, sluggish and not open to customers at all. A pity! Eye contact, smiling would be so easy! Who leads this team?

I was way to lomg waiting to get service. Several customers that arrived later got the service first. I had to use the app on my phone to get the food. 😑

HERE SERVICE AND FRIENDLINESS ARE PRIMARY. Employees are very unfriendly and seem annoyed to be there. Especially the employee in her mid to late 50s with her brown shoulder-length hair in a braid. The only friendly employee was the Asian-looking nice gentleman at the front of the counter. Drinks and food are rather poor for the price. Better go somewhere else!

Just happen 5 mins ago. The cashiers are rude and make a big fuss of a simple order (butter croissant, egg croissant, and 2 choc croissant to go) One cashier outrightly sigh when they don’t understand English. And the other one asked me to repeat verbally, and half way interrupted when I’m speaking, to take my order again via pointing at the food. Asked again if it’s to-go. So in total I’ve explained 3 times and they shook their head and gave an unpleasant frustrated look.

The place is so central, the tea is delicious. The service minimal. A pity!

Bad service , she was mean because we were hijabs and she didn't even talk to us. When another person came she was happy.

Girl at the counter was very unfriendly and unprofessional, we walked in 5 people asked where we can sit no hello and no friendly welcome. We were looking at the options and asking she gave no answer and welcomed the guest behind us with a huge smile, although we were asking about a cake. We left immediately I wonder if this poor service was bcs we are wearing a hijab, since the next guest was treated much different. We ended up in a store next door called Sprüngli were we were very welcomed

Terrible service, not giving any attention to the customer even when you approach them. Not even looking in your face or apologizing that I am waiting for peace of bread for 30 minutes. So, it is table service but you have to order it with QR code on the table and the service will bring you the food. Just the thing is the concept doesn’t function because in the end you need to go pick the food because they don’t care. 30 minutes to warm up focaccia. And no, it was not that busy. Food tastes poorly but I would not even mention it if I got one single peace of welcome vibe from one of the workers. I did take away in the end because I didn’t have time anymore. You guess, I had to pack my food myself.

I stopped here to eat something before taking my train. The food is decent, But the staff is extremely rude. I politely asked one of the girls (a blond girl with a poneytail) at the counter for the bathroom code. (I asked her in English). She understood me and proceeded to tell me the code in German. I asked her if she could tell me in English or Italiano. (Because I do not understand German). She continued telling me the code in German. I asked again and she angrily started saying something to me in German. From her face and tone of voice it wasn't anything nice. I find this rude and disrespectful. You are working at the main station in Zurich, one of the most international cities in Switzerland and yet you act disgusted when dealing with foreigners. 👎

The breads (croissant and pain au chocolat) are so hard it felt like I was eating a stone, probably been sitting there for 3-5 days. The lady didn’t ask if I wanted it heated either. Tables are not clean. Coffee is mediocre. Won’t recommend it.

What a bad sandwich ☹️ (Chicken avocado)

This is a pretty good place to come over for a quick breakfast, just as I did when I got off from my night train from Vienna. Pretty good hot chocolate overall, and gives you a small glance at the quality of Swiss Chocolate. Recommended if you find yourself at the station.

13.5 CHF for a focaccia that’s 3 pieces of toast and two containers. That’s robbery and the business should be ashamed. The staff at the counter are shouting orders around, an expensive meal for poor service. It’s a shame this is the last experience in Zurich.

Very poor service. This is my first time giving someone a bad review. Please don't use their services. They gave me the wrong stuff and I still had to pay for the wrong order. When I tried to explain the lady that she forgot my fruit, she had an attitude and would not give me my fruit. She kept helping everyone else, to make things worse she spiteful burned my crossant and the crossant for my child who sufers with anorexia. I did explain to her that she was having a poor attitude with someone who is sick and it's not ok. She offered no apology and spoke angry IN a language I don't understand. Please don't go here.

A railway station coffee shop. Coffee was good and getting a code to use the nice clean toilets was even better!

I wanted to get a cappuccino for the train. I asked in English the size of the thing because they had 2 prices and he prepared the smaller one for me as if he didn't understand. Anyway it was an Asian guy who bp didn't understand the language. It is certain that I did not like it - it was a commercial device. Tip: it is preferable to serve in the back where there was a small terrace.

The staff responded in an unreasonably angry way after there was a misunderstanding with my order. Would not recommend this place.

You can sit down and order via QR! Pain au chocolat is delicious haha. Hot chocolate, coffee, and two breads cost about 21 francs.

What a rip off. Over 6 francs for a “large” cappuccino. Even Starbucks is cheaper and you get twice as much. In other countries this is usury and illegal. Even for Swiss conditions.

The location is very practical for waiting for a train or friends. It's very loud, but understandable, right in the train station, there's always something going on. Working or making phone calls in peace isn't exactly easy. Lots of seating options, but unfortunately no sockets, these days when everyone is on the go with laptops and mobile devices, this is important. Unfortunately, what I didn't like at all was the coffee, it could be 1000 times better for this location, you get your coffee served in about 10 seconds, which is certainly an advantage if you're in a hurry, but unfortunately it's not enjoyable.

A place that is typical for train stations. Anonymous, impersonal fast service, stressed staff etc. I could list many more things but it will not get better. I think these are the places that decide about the first or the last impression of a city for travellers. How much time does it save the staff when outsourcing the collection of cream and sugar to the customer? Especially if you do not tell the customer where the sugar and cream is hidden and they ask the staff for it? Anyway, did not have the best impression hence won't pass by again.

Tourist trap. I've been working at HB for 7 years and always walked past it because the line was too long. Today I had time and gave it a try. Food mediocre, service lousy (I ordered takeaway cappuccino, then it came in a glass and was refilled...), lots of tourists with suitcases who are stressed. The shop lives from the location. Better avoid!

We were asked to cross the Oscar café and arrived at the Baretto café... The waitress did not have the same products as Oscar coffee... We ordered 2 drinks with the waitress....and had to go to Café Oscar again to get more choices... To understand nothing.... not the same sales office...

I love their warm chicken sandwich with avocado and sundried tomatoes. If you’re at the HB at lunch time that’s the place to go., Waitresses are polite and provide a decent service

On August 24, 2022 we ordered two coffees here. On the website it says that the coffee is "made from house-roasted il baretto – Caffè dal 1935". What we got for 4.70/coffee was colored, tasteless water with no crema on it. A disaster.

It's nice but a little bit expensive

The coffee is good, the space is beautiful, but unfortunately the croissants are so bad. In the mornings you just want a coffee and croissant before getting on a train and I've been three times in the hopes it would improve, but it doesn't. The Pain au Chocolate is hard. And the service is mediocre as well. But I am happy to have a coffee here!

In the heart of Zurich Station.

No service, only self-service or online ordering and payment for 8.50 CHF for half a liter of self-service beer, that's outrageous! It's almost a rip-off, you'd probably have to check whether it's usury under the law. Many older people without cell phones have checked out and left after 15 minutes without service. The token system for the toilet is very poorly designed and you only find out about it when you're already downstairs, so many people will simply pay!

I have just paid CHF for two burned Croissants and a Large coffee that was less than half cup and not strong enough cos she didn't put the beans and it did not have coffee on it. I should be refunded my money 😠

Very tasty baked goods. The two ladies who served us were super friendly and have great sales talent.😃👍 The orange juice is very tasty. The butter croisant too. The facility is small but nice. Price/performance is top. Keep it up.

I asked for a iced hazelnut coffee. And it was barely iced or hazelnut or coffee. The waitress started serving us in a glass even though we had specifically asked for it in a to go cup. When we reminded her, she was extremely rude and poured it very sloppily into to go cups (95% foam and almost no coffee left).

There is a lot of coming and going in the self-service area, which is connected to the original station hall. The service at the buffet is friendly and multilingual. Offers what is desired for a short stay between two trains.
