The owner was so kind to meet us outside and show us how to eat fondue. She was so sweet and welcoming, would definitely come back if we weren’t just visiting from America. Staff speaks English, water closet is available, there is wifi, atmosphere is cozy and casual.

We found this little cafe after a long day. The waitress was very friendly and lively. The service was excellent. The food was very tasty. First time cheese fondue, so the waitress made sure that we knew how it worked and what to do. Recommended!

A great café for breakfast, very warm welcome, excellent staff, quality products, very well placed for taking the bus or train. Go for it if you're feeling peckish.

Fast service and delicious fondue

Lady behind counter said that cafe was finishing? Says it’s open to 23.00. So obviously went somewhere else. Smelt horrible in there too, like people had been smoking and not properly ventilated. Was glad to leave there really.

The Basel boule salad is in fact simple cervelas.....it's misleading the customer on the merchandise!!! The sommelier carries the pepper mill under her arm......yuckkkkkk.

The place decor is a bit dated but I didn’t come here to look at the walls. The food is large portion and delicious. No frills you get what you order and I can’t be happier! Love this place.

- Waiting time of 50 min at 12 p.m. so avoid for lunch break. - Ordered a cheese crust which according to this chef is made with (what seemed to me to be) poor quality fondue sachets. The bread is too soft and too soaked in white (sour) wine. The seasoning, non-existent. I, a big fan of this dish, never thought I would have to taste such a bad one! A small star for the waitress who we could see was ashamed to serve this and in such a delay..

We decided to try Café Vaudois because of the generally favorable reviews and because it was right next door to our hotel. The favorable reviews were spot-on. Wonderful local atmosphere and excellent service. We had the fondue with mushrooms and it was excellent. We would definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Cosy setting inside an older place. Food was very simple and taste was above average. The entire place was staffed by 1 old lady who managed it all. Sausage was 20chf and the perch+chips was 25. There was also fondue on the menu.

We were here for fondue. We booked a table and while we were there, the place was full all the time. An older lady served the guests, although I think there could have been one more server for so many people. The cheese was delicious, a little salty for me. The bread was fresh and soft.

Good place to eat. For Geneva it has an affordable price. We tried the cheese fondue with and without mushrooms and the taste grows on you. The woman running it is very kind and explained us to really use small pieces of bread to dip in the cheese. Further the atmosphere felt like a bar where locals go to. It was very nice.

Passing for a day, in Geneva we ate there and I discovered Swiss specialties. A very welcoming and friendly manager. I highly recommend it.

The woman doesn't speak English at all. Keep blowing. English menu is meaningless. Even though I asked for sausage and pasta on menu number 6 because they didn't even know the numbers, I was given the same menu as menu number 7 or 8. The price was the same, so I just ate it, but I had to get 52 francs in change back, but they only gave me 50 francs. When I was told I received 2 francs less, I threw away the receipt. He gave me 2 francs and said something in French while holding a bottle of water. If it was the price of water, it should have been written on the receipt^^. Tips are only given if they are reasonable. I've been to many European restaurants, but I've never seen one as bad as this one. It's dirty so I give it back 2 francs. Take it.

One of the best coffees I had in Geneva at the lowest price, €3.75. The owner is very friendly, although it is still a town bar.

On our last day in Switzerland we wanted to try the famous Swiss cheese fondue. We looked up a few restaurants and this one came up. With the fondue being one of the popular items we thought of giving it a try. The cheese that they typically use for fondue (Gruyere) is a bit of an acquired taste. I didn't like it initially but it grew on me. We didn't think the two of us would finish the entire cheese when it was served. To our surprise, we did it! Overall we liked the experience.

Whatever your plan, you have to go to Café Vaudois. The boss has been there for over 30 years. Mythical and authentic place like no other.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Geneve ! YOU have to go there ! The restaurant has its own unique charm. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. The Lady who manages the restaurant and serves guest at the same time is an extraordinary woman and she is very hospitable. The food is absolutely amazing, everything we tasted melted in mouths. Delicious ! Absolutely the best meal We had in Geneve. Highly recommend !

Nice corner place run by nice people offer drinks and little bites

I tried roast porc sausage + pasta and salad (20 CHF). The porc was tasty and menu was satisfying. However before the meal a big bravo to the Lady that serves the clients and manage the cafe at the same time. She is so sincere and welcoming. I’ll visit again very soon because of her and try the cheese fondue.

Very good traditional cuisine, fresh produce, very good at every meal. The welcome is always very pleasant, a plus to the manager who always has a kind word to comfort you. At the Vaudois café you feel like more than just a customer, (rare)

A friendly place, excellent value for money! Far from sanitized tourist restaurants, what a joy to find a warm atmosphere that immediately puts us in the bath. If you're in the area, go there, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely little cafe. We wandered in for a late breakfast and had wonderful (and very generously portioned) omelettes and bread. Coffee was excellent as well. The lady running the place was very kind, welcoming, and unfailingly gracious and patient with my very rusty French. Menu is available in English and German in addition to French. Would absolutely return should we ever find ourselves back in Geneva.
