After visiting the Herrmann Hesse Museum, it makes sense to sit down in this café to see what you have seen and talk about it over a cup of coffee. Located in a quiet corner of the small town, we were also able to have a great conversation with the owner!

Quiet local cafe for a coffee/cake, reading, or drink on the Herman Hesse trail. Unfortunately cash only and they even turned away 100chf! ...I’ve never seen that before.

Generally at least once a week after a nice walk on the fitness trail surrounded by greenery in Montagnola, beautiful paths and in some points overlooking the lake and mountains we willingly stop at Boccadoro simply to have a coffee, an exquisite dessert (some homemade) and to exchange a few words with the always very kind service person, we get on well also because it is quiet despite being frequented by tourists mainly coming from German-speaking Switzerland.

And stopped by for a cappuccino after visiting the Hermann Hesse Museum👍.

Great cafe in the historic nucleo of Montagnola. At any giving time you will find a mixture of locals and tourists visiting the nearby Hermann Hesse Museum. There are places to sit indoors and outdoors, couches, books, newspapers in multiple languages, local information, and postcards for sale. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The cafe is open every day in the summer months and Thursday through Sunday in the winter. In the fall they have a great music series on Monday nights in their space upstairs.
