After a lot of back and forth I didn't book because it was very complicated. Despite booking, it cannot be guaranteed that a 5-person tent including a 4x4 pavilion can be set up at the beginning of September. (10 days costs 420.- 3 people)

We spent a few days here in the summer with our caravan and two small children. The site is mainly used by long-term campers, so it wasn't that busy during the week. But people who are at the lake also come to eat. The menu looked very good (fresh and also with vegetarian dishes), but unfortunately we didn't manage to eat there with the children due to time constraints. The place is extremely well maintained and clean. Campers even clean the sinks after use. For showering, washing up etc. you need 1/2 franc. The operators are very nice and help quickly and easily. Our parking space was right next to the playground, which was also very well maintained, and 20m from Greifensee. That was perfect. You had to walk about 400m to the parking lot, which was sometimes stressful with small children, but there are no cars on the site and that's really great. We loved the place and the surrounding area and would be happy to come back if we travel to Switzerland again.

One of the most beautiful and idyllic campsites on Lake Greifensee. Since the campsite is located in a nature reserve, cars must be parked outside in a parking lot. The tenants are very empathetic, friendly and open. There are very, very few tourist places.

Great location, right on Lake Greifensee. Quickly get to Zurich by bus and train, and also possible by bike. The place is well run, nice, homemade food and cakes are delicious. The town of Maur is within walking distance. Sanitary facilities are relatively new and clean.

Small place - more of a club - but exactly the right place for our camper. In the evening you can eat on site and in the morning there are fresh rolls and coffee. Swimming is possible in the lake. On the corner is the Cafe Der hatter - Alice in Wonderland - worth seeing.

Clean, small campsite right on the water with a jetty. Very clean sanitary facilities! Hot water costs 50 centimes for 3 minutes, is ok. Delicious food, a small, lovingly furnished lounge where you can also borrow books. Barbecue area available, as well as a small playground. Space size completely ok. Free WIFI. Recommended for a short vacation with swimming in the lake. Nice operators. Access is only permitted for campers.

Very nice, well-kept campsite with a great offer right on Lake Greifensee. But it was a frightening experience for me. A few days ago we drove along the access road to the campsite (see photo). We spent a great evening there. When we got back to the motorbike we had a notice on the motorbike (we parked it in front of the barrier on the left side where it didn't get in anyone's way). I don't quite understand what the wording on the board is supposed to mean, we used the entrance to the campsite. We were then reprimanded by the groundskeeper woman when we wanted to drive away. Didn't you see that there was a driving ban there and that you were driving through a nature reserve. No, to be honest, there is no sign about the nature reserve anywhere, it was our first time visiting the campsite from this side. It would have been nice to perhaps give us a warning (according to what the groundskeeper said, she could have given us) and to point out where we could park our motorcycle without any problems. Well, now it is like this, we have paid the operating expenses (30 Fr.) to the groundskeeper couple. We don't want them to have more trouble and have to forward the report to the court or the cantonal police (not traceable from the piece of paper) and then not have the income from the 30 francs. I hope you have made the COVID deficit a smaller hole by canceling 25 (see SRF broadcast). In any case, she must have lost two visitors who actually enjoyed the campsite. A recommendation from my side: Remove the signs at the top of the road, put a no-parking sign near the barrier and install a nature conservation sign. Then definitely don't allow any mobile homes and the caravans should come onto the campsite from the entrance to the main road, if they are allowed to drive on the path at all. All the best.

Good, it has a jetty at Greifensee. Unfortunately, hot water (for washing up or showering) costs 0.5 francs (50 centimes coins) for 2 minutes. After 10 p.m. you have to be quiet otherwise you will get a warning, which is justified.

Great location, very well-kept sanitary facilities, friendly and uncomplicated operators. Hot water for rinsing and showering for 2 minutes is clearly too expensive and annoying. A bottle of beer for 5 CHF at a campsite kiosk is also overpriced. Hairdryer and changing facilities available. Baby bath not available, perhaps upon request at reception? Unfortunately there is no sandpit, but there are swings and a play structure. The pitches are narrow, gravelled and don't offer much room to maneuver. Lots of long-term campers and evening regulars on the terrace. Lots of prohibition and information signs. Somehow we didn't really feel comfortable. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful, great for cycling, there is a very well-stocked drinks market, farm shops and a supermarket about 1km away.

Very rude staff on arrival. All campers are on top of each other. Smelly site and filling/dumping stations super dirty. Go to any of the other camps of the area

The location by the lake is great and nice and quiet. Small kiosk, lounge, playground, barbecue area available, bread service and smaller dishes are offered. Unfortunately, everything there costs (quite a lot) of money. Beer at the kiosk (0.5 L) 5 Fr. A handful of rolls/croissants 7 Fr. Hot water for washing up and showering only with coins. Very weak WiFi. (It feels like) 90% are long-term campers who live with the owners in their own community and look at short-term guests somewhat disparagingly.

We really liked the campsite. right on the lake. with a nice playground and a really great restaurant. There are very fine homemade cakes and creative salads. However, the parking spaces for tourists are not the burner. very narrow and in the gravel therefore only 4 out of 5 stars.

What a find ! A fantastic campsite - the BEST we’ve ever experienced. The location was fab and the hosts Carmen & Rolf - were superb. Friendly and very helpful. The facilities were spotlessly clean and well maintained. The access to the lake very easy for swimming SUP and general cooling down. Biking is very easy from the campsite too with a lovely gravel path alongside the lake. We shall be back 😃

Small, fine campsite! Ideal by the lake... great for splashing around and going out on the lake with the SUP. The place is run with love and the food is simply amazing. During the summer season, the kids can live out their creativity with Barbara from Monday to Friday mornings. Since the place is in a nature reserve, it is idyllically quiet and very relaxing.

We were warmly welcomed by Ralph and Carmen. beautiful idyllic campsite, right on the lake. The bike path around the lake is very nice. If you don't like cooking yourself, Carmen's kitchen is highly recommended!! You can order rolls for breakfast in the evening.

The new operating team - Carmen and Ralf - have cleaned up and dusted off this wonderful location on Lake Greifensee. With compassion and care, this is now a lovely location for coffee or dinner. The coffee is tasty, the Cordon Bleu is home made and a delight and all the facilities are spotless. Stay here for a little while, or of course for a whole weekend of relaxation. Highly recommended.

Nice smaller campsite near the lake. Well maintained sanitary block. Helpful owners, who will help you with a smile and are always ready. Our electricity wire was not long enough, the owner immediately provided a reel. A nice playground for the children where they spent hours. Located in a beautiful area for walking and cycling, yet you are 20-30 minutes from the center of Zurich. The only thing we missed a bit about our camping spot was a drain for dirty water. We will definitely go back if we go that direction again.

Beautiful campsite on the idyllic Greifensee, very well managed, friendly, special access to the lake. Really an insider tip to relax and take a vacation. There is also the opportunity to rent a caravan. Restaurant is dignified wet rooms clean and well maintained. Stand-up paddling courses, boards can also be rented. A place to feel comfortable

Nice location, price, facilities and great staffs. Facilities were ultra clean. People were enjoying cycling around the lake, tracking at the mountain near site and swimming at the lake at daytime. Looks like very famous place. Staffs were so friendly and helpful. I love this place.

The staff and facilities and nice, clean too, but make no mistake, this is not a camp site for camping, it is for caravans. Was pretty obvious that we were the odd ones out and definitely not hugely welcome. This wouldn't have been a huge issue, especially as the situation on the surface is lovely, but when you look closer and see the pipes coming out at the access to the lake, any idea of swimming or enjoying the water vanishes. Further to this, the cost of camping wasn't cheap by the standards of other sites we stayed in, but being gouged for every second of hot water, both for a shower and for doing dishes just feels cheap and put a very sour feeling on the whole time there.

We were there for team building - excellent! Right on the lake, good service, impeccable sanitary facilities, friendly staff, WiFi. Again any time!

The campsite is a wonderful place by the lake to enjoy relaxing days. The operators are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hygienic standards are at a very high level. I will gladly come again!

The campsite is OK in itself but the management is unfortunately catastrophic. - The entrance gate will not be opened for cars, meaning guests will have to carry all their belongings through the campsite. - Since the people at the reception are not from the region, they are unfortunately not in a position to give any information about the place. - Children camp without supervision and nothing is done to reduce noise, even in the middle of the night. Complaints are somehow not taken into account, or only in some cases when management decides so. Instead of being excused, I had to be told “they’re kids.” - Situations are misjudged/interpreted. Unfortunately, the people there make little sense and are inconsistent. - Poor communication.

Very nice place by the lake, costs are moderate, very clean showers and toilet. Kiosk is nicely decorated, prices are normal for Switzerland. Very nice operators, checks every now and then, will come again.

Idyllic, exciting, nice to run or linger!!!

The campsite is characterized by a top location. We only know very few campgrounds this close to the lake. The meadow is lush and invites you to lie down on the grass. The sanitary facilities are cleaned daily and are well maintained. Anyone who would like to have a hot shower will feel at home here. For a longer stay, you can also find a clean washing machine that works perfectly for laundry. The bistro offers small snacks as well as fresh, hand-made cakes and soup. Denise and Marcel run the campsite in an exemplary manner and they have stories from their travels that can fill an evening. The friendly couple goes to great lengths to make the campers' stay more enjoyable. Travelers are also welcome and there is always a place for them.

The cleanest campsite I've seen so far. There is even room fragrance in the washrooms and the tables at the kiosk are decorated with flowers. Very nicely located on Lake Greifen with optimal connections for sightseeing in Zurich.

One of the most beautiful campsites in Switzerland. Wonderfully located on Lake Greifensee, not too big and yet enough space for lots of nice people. The operator couple, Denise and Marcel, do it really well, calmly and competently.

This campsite is beautifully located, quiet and close to nature. Great little direct access to Greifensee, from where you can also go onto the lake with water sports equipment. There is a small restaurant where you can relax. The sanitary facilities are ok. Nice playground for children. Unfortunately, the parking lot for cars is about 500 meters away, which makes loading and unloading a little more difficult. Unfortunately, there are many do's and don'ts that are carefully "monitored" or observed by many long-term campers. Somehow we didn't really feel comfortable there. Hello Marcel, thank you very much for your answer! Of course, I can understand your arguments in some way, but a slightly more relaxed regime would not be detrimental to the joy of camping.

Stay from October 13th, 2018 - October 15th, 2018. Rather grumpy reception. We felt like intruders in this phalanx of long-term campers. Lots of do's and don'ts signs. Attention: no drops of hot water without payment. CHF 0.50 for 1 minute washing up and CHF 0.50 for 2 minutes showering. The places and how you have to stand there are urgently assigned to you. The access to the lake looks neglected. I wouldn't take a bath there. Sanitary facility very clean. Very noisy as there is a busy road nearby. We will no longer consider this space.
