It has no space and the opening hours are terrible.

We really like it here. We definitely come here every year. Never have any problems with the owner. The facility is a bit older but in top condition and always clean! We don't understand the many negative reviews! Maybe it has something to do with the way you call it into the forest... comes back... there are campers who allow themselves anything... and they like it and we'll be back!!

We stayed at the lake campsite for 2 nights. We enjoyed a fantastic tent meadow with an unrestricted view of the lake. Sanitary facilities fully met our requirements. We deducted half a star because of the lack of a public transport stop at the campsite. The second half star because of the extremely unmotivated and disinterested camping warden at the reception. We would like to come back and hope that the condition of the half-star will be better.

The campsite would probably be quite good with a camper, but I don't really recommend it with a tent on the tent meadow, as it is right next to a main road. There is street noise throughout the night. There is currently even a construction site near the lake where, for some reason, work only runs at night from around 11 p.m. until indefinitely in the morning (at least 3 a.m.). Full on-board sound. Because of this, I was only able to recover moderately during the days there. Another disadvantage is that you can only pay in cash. Both in the kiosk and at the reception. Otherwise the place is quite nice. The sanitary facilities were quite clean, but for those camping on the tent meadow it was about 300+ meters away. A proud march each time. Lake Walen is of course very beautiful, as is the entire surrounding area. However, it takes about 15-20 minutes on foot from the campsite to reach the nearest civilization. There is a lot of driftwood in the place where you can swim. We also fished some broken glass out of the water. Of course also something current due to flooding. The tent can be placed right next to the lake, which is not necessarily a given. The reception was pleasantly relaxed and uncomplicated, we were able to check in and leave the departure date open. All in all, the stay was enjoyable, but was quite limited by the factors mentioned.

Nicely located, use of the toilet is ok as a cyclist but otherwise everything is private, swimming is only for campers.
