One of the best Italian restaurants in Zurich

On a Tuesday shortly before 6:00 p.m., the restaurant was still almost empty, we were greeted by a rather strict head waiter. They said there was no free space downstairs, we should go upstairs, maybe there would be something free there. When we get to the top, there are 3 more waiters standing there and looking at us as if we had just come from Mars. They were chatting among themselves in Italian and we didn't know if there was a table for us or not. After a short time they took pity and assigned us a table with the information that we could stay for a maximum of 1.5 hours. By now we were strongly considering leaving again...the situation was saved by the only somewhat friendly waiter who probably noticed that somehow everything wasn't right. We ordered our food and then everything went like an assembly line. Starter and main course, wine, coffee, everything happened so quickly, it was just a waste. We were through in 40 minutes and didn't even finish the wine...it wasn't a good atmosphere. I would like to emphasize that the food was really good, the fish was perfectly cooked, the rosemary potatoes were more like rubber, but that was a small thing. I quickly paid over 200 francs and then there wasn't even a ciao. I'm annoyed that I tipped. I don't know what the concept of this restaurant is, we definitely didn't like it and weren't impressed. For us it was the first and also the last visit here. That certainly won't bother the operators, there's enough walk-in customers, but we would at least like to report on our experience here.

The cantinetta is beautifully decorated with warm atmosphere, elegant porcelain and crockery, friendly staff. The food is excellent, one star deducted because the noodles were good (vongole) but unfortunately overcooked. The wine was very good, night table too.

Amazing food, a bit pricey but quality is superb

Probably the best Italian restaurant in Zurich! We love the staff, we like the food and the wines are fabulous, from Tignello to Sassicaia and more select wines. There is a nice bar for a quick bite, there are two stories where on can lunch or dine. In winter, oysters are served outside and in summer, the place turns into a fully Italian "al fresco" experience. Totally recommendable! Booking in advance is recommended.

Nice place, great food, nothing to complain, really. No pizza, which was a nice surprise. All pasta dishes we tried were great apart from the olio e peperoncino thay was below expectation. Service was also inconsistent. Some waiters were amazing while one of them gave us a hard time when trying to accommodate our stroller around.

We went to this restaurant on a Friday evening. A reservation makes sense. We had a cozy table on the first floor. The meal was excellent. The service was friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful evening.

Great place for a business lunch.

We always enjoy coming here. This time everything was very good, we just missed the sauce. Very friendly lady who served us. We'll be back⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✌️

The place is quite nice. The tables are extremely small so that there is no space left for the Spaghetti Vongole. There is also a small bowl where you can pour the house-made olive oil for bread. This also has limited space, so it is not visible from the other side of the table. Since our table was opposite the bar and my chair had its back to the bar, I not only had the constant walk of the waiters behind me but also the chatter of the bar patrons about half a meter to my ear. The food was rather mediocre except for the prices. Maybe on Sunday evening the quality is not right in relation to the prices. Anyway, there was a gigantic mountain of mussels on the spaghetti but strangely not much mussel meat and when it was found, the mussels were dried out. I think an Italian would probably reject that. All in all disappointing, the restaurant is overcrowded with tables that are too small, and the food is not very attractive. The staff was friendly, but there was always the feeling that they didn't really take their guests seriously. Unfortunately, hospitality is mostly fake and practiced, but not really genuine.

Italian canteen, with traditional dishes. Good food, great service. Good options of starters and main dishes, most of them Italian classics. Shorter wine list with higher prices.

Penne, spaghetti truffles, and tiramisu dessert are something more luxurious than the other, you should not miss them

We went to celebrate a birthday. Seated in the middle of a crowded and very noisy room we had to wait considerable time for our dinner. The minestrone came a transparent broth, the risotto bland and overcooked, and the cooked plums for dessert were ice cold under the too sweet and melting vanilla icecream. Overrated and overpriced.

If we could give it half a star we would. INSANELY OVERPRICED even for Zurich. No quality for the amount of quality of food you receive. The cost for the tiny portions and terrible taste is astounding. No love in the food whatsoever. Little customer care and appreciation for the high price tag. Just a place to process rich people and scam them. Please avoid.

The restaurant offered a disappointing experience with particularly unfriendly staff. The waiters were rude and forced us to leave the table just because we planned to “just” order a dessert. The lack of customer friendliness significantly spoiled the atmosphere and made the visit anything but pleasant. Not recommended due to the disrespectful treatment of guests. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Rarely do I take the time to share my thoughts, but having been a local for years, I must declare this establishment as the epitome of culinary excellence. The truffles, whether paired with meat or pasta, are an absolute necessity for a truly extraordinary dining experience.

The roast was excellent. Nüdeli could be more, the red wine from the large bottle (15.00) was very good. All in all it was top as always

Last Sunday there were 16 of us for lunch and everyone ordered and had x questions, all almost at the same time of course. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Zurich and the food is amazing. However it is also a very expensive restaurant even by Swiss standards. The atmosphere only got 4 stars from me because we went at lunch and it was extremely crowded and equally noisy.

Cantinetta Antinori is a cozy and authentic Italian place in a beautiful building. We were served by a very friendly waiter and the food was just like nonna had cooked it. 10/10 - beautiful experience. Mille Grazie.

Antinori is always an exellent restaurant with outstanding service and in Switzerland a place where you feel Toscany. I recomend the wine Antinori which is not so expensive, but very fruitfull and gently dry. The menu is enough sufficient and gourment.

My wife and I will always remember the incredibly beautiful and romantic dinner we had here dining al fresco on the ancient street, on a gorgeous very late summer's night. Food was simple, fresh and well-prepared. Service was delightfully friendly and festive. It is our favorite memory of Zurich.

They have sweet desserts like cheesecake, ice cream, and tiramisu, all of which are worth trying.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The dishes were incredibly bland, the fish tough and chewy and, considering the quality of the food, the prices were definitely too high. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. The only positive thing was the service, the guys were very kind and helpful.

Lovely atmosphere and service. We had Sunday lunch here surrounded by local families and visitors like ourselves. The food is good classic Italian (Vongole, Branzino, etc). Perfectly delicious but not sensational either. Good wine list. Unfortunately the price point for what you get is pretty steep. My friend things it’s wrong to be critical of this as everything in Switzerland is expensive. Maybe. Yet a similar restaurant in Milan, Paris or New York City would cost 30-40% less and these are by no means ‘cheap’ cities. It makes the final experience less pleasant. Somehow you feel hoodwinked. Anyway maybe that’s Switzerland for you and in that case if you are in Zurich looking for a good, charming Italian this place is for you.

We went in, since we couldn't find anything available in the city and we had a very pleasant dinner, initially, they offered us to sit at the bar to eat, but then they freed up a table and we were able to sit down, I don't recommend eating at the bar, since which is not comfortable. I haven't taken a photo of the truffle pasta dish, which was really what was best, this one in the photo wasn't as good.

We enjoyed lunch there today. The menu is extensive and authentic. We chose tomato soup to start; it was freshly homemade and delicious. To follow we had spaghetti aglio, olio è peperoncino; such a simple dish and so easy to get wrong. This was once if the tastiest we've enjoyed outside Italy. I have to say that the waiter who served us (we sat outside); was absolutely engaging; interested in serving us and very attentive. He made the whole experience very pleasant and we will definitely go again when we are next in Zurich.

I really like this place, the food is spot on, always well done and a good selection. Lunch menu works nicely and the dinner menu is more extensive and has a nice blend of hearty Italian but also classic Italian stuff and some interesting new dishes. Recommended. It also doesnt die off at 9pm which is an unfortunate feature of a lot of restaurants in Zurich. 18th March 2022 update: its still really good! 21st October 2022: Came here for lunch with my wife and the service was fantastic and the food was great as always, recommend the Manzo Filletti and the Tignanello.

A very nice place in the center of Zurich, good food and family atmosphere

It's a very nice Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. The service is fast, and the staff is very friendly. Their homemade pasta is done well and has a good aldante bite. The tiramisu dessert is super addictive. It looks huge, but it will go quickly.

It was a cold night in Zurich, i happened to come across this neat looking restaurant which took me in without the need of reservation. The italian menu is quite standard offering pasta, soup, appetizer, meat and desserts. The beef steak was juicy, tender enough and tasty. Spaghetti was bad, the clams were not fresh and cold. Pumpkin soup tasted good and i like the presentation. Restaurant was very crowded at this time, and there was not much space to move around.

I don't live in Switzerland and I wanted to visit this place, since they had spoken very well to me. The building is striking and beautiful. The food was delicious, we ordered a Bolognesi pasta (it had a different name, but it's the same thing) and a risotto with truffle that was really BRUTAL! The waiter's attention was very good and very attentive. Dessert was a pistachio cheesecake, it wasn't spectacular, but we enjoyed it. Their prices were generous, but it was worth it.

We were quite disappointed with our experience at Cantinetta Antinori in Zurich. Even though we managed to get in without a reservation, the staff were very friendly and everyone spoke Italian, which was a positive point. The location was welcoming and seemed well frequented, but unfortunately the cuisine failed to meet our expectations. We ordered the pici with ragù and the tagliolini with truffle, but both dishes turned out to be disappointing. The pici al ragù was bland and the tagliolini with truffle were not only bland but also overcooked, which is unacceptable for a restaurant of this category. What left us particularly shocked, however, was the final bill. We understand that prices in Zurich may be higher than in Italy, but we never imagined having to pay so much. The figure of €160 for a portion of bruschetta, a plate of pici with ragù, a plate of tagliolini with truffle, a glass of wine and a dessert seemed excessive to us. In summary, we cannot recommend Cantinetta Antinori in Zurich based on our disappointing experience from both a culinary and financial perspective.

Food is quite good, but it's quite overpriced. Truffle pasta has a a lot of truffle, so this could be the price justification. The service was very nice.

Very Italian lunch at the tourist cantinetta antinori. Located in the historic center of Zurich, in a very busy place. Quick service. Good dough. We ate spaghetti with garlic and oil. Well peppered. The dish is very tasty. Pene in tomato sauce is also tasty. Small plate at 19f. If you want big 26f. Satisfies the little one well. If it is for the main dish, it is between 30 to 60f. Entries between 8 and 30 francs. Good wine list, reasonably priced, vg, 50 f vila antinori 2020. I went back a second time and we ate pasta with prawns. 35f. The dish is very good.

Terrible service～ 👎 There are only few guests but you can’t change table even nothing service yet, the guy said : it’s not possible! The waiter even throw the receipt at the table to my side bcoz I didn’t pay the tips for his terrible service. Food isn’t taste good as well, didn’t worse the money

The worst service I’ve experienced. Rude and inattentive wait staff.

Ordered bruschetta tartufo and a sole. Tartufo was generous yet had zero aroma. Sole was industrial quality. Fried and not pan fried in butter. Totally overcooked and dry. I didn’t finish it to get a reaction from the waiter who just cleared the table without even asking if something was not ok with the quality. Sad for the nice setting at the end of a pedestrian zone in the center of Zurixh Augustinergasse. You would expect more from a Sunday dinner in Zurich.

Recently visited the restaurant to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Staffs are really attentive and friendly, and they kindly prepared a cake and sang a song for my mom. We ordered spagetti vongole, veal dish, and a house wine. All of them were amazing. Highly recommend people to visit here!

A large selection of wines and the service is very attentive. the restaurant is located in the city center and is recommended to those who appreciate quality on their plate.
