Beautiful modern structure but with traditional materials: lots of stone and lots of wood. Spectacular place, to be appreciated in summer for its relative coolness.

3-lake hike with wonderful lunch at the Cadagno Hut. The gnocchi was to die for, as was the fresh ricotta. A delight for vegetarians! Grazie mille!

The quality of the starters, main courses and the cake buffet is very good. Much of it is homemade and freshly prepared. The very friendly and prompt service together with the beautiful terrace and its view are very pleasing. It is a pleasure to be a guest in this Capanna. The prices are very fair.

Had a lovely lunch here on the terasse after a run around the lakes. The area is very beautiful. They served some great cheese. I would come back here.

The new part of the hut is very modern. The rooms offer plenty of space. The food is great. Friendly, efficient and attentive hut team!

When I made a reservation online, I got a reply that it was not possible to reserve a place to sleep without including half board - even though it did not say so anywhere on the website. I pointed this out in my next email but said that ok, in that case we would also book the half board. I then got a reply that unfortunately, the Capanna was now fully booked for that night, which I find hard to imagine. The contact by email was rude and cold. The only reason I gave 2 stars is that I stopped for a break at this place some years ago and (at least back then) they had amazing cake.

The place needs no introduction and the hut is an unmissable stop on any excursion in the area. Furthermore, the food is very good and at the right price.

There are various possibilities to reach Capanna Cadagno (1987 m). By car from Piotta or Varenzo, by funicular from Piotta, on foot from the arrival station of the Piora funicular or by MTB. By car there is the possibility of parking the car under the Ritom lake dam or in Cadagno, inquire about the opening and closing times of the road between the dam and Cadagno. 6 hours of parking Fr. 8.00 and the day Fr. 15.00, possibility of paying only with coins, euros also accepted. Returning from a wonderful day's excursion in the Ritom area we stop at the Capanna Cadagno to have a snack but in the end given the late hour we ask if they are still cooking any hot dishes and they tell us that they can cook some gnocchi and that for other food the kitchen it is unfortunately closed, rightly so given the late hour and also they had had a day with many seats. We then order a plate of mixed cold cuts with cheese and a good plate of homemade gnocchi with tomato sauce. Sublime cured meats and equally exceptional gnocchi. Various homemade cakes are also available. Fair prices, possibility of payment by credit card. Very friendly staff and excellent service. The structure is open and guarded from the end of May to mid-October and is located in the Alpine region of Piora, a natural paradise ideal for various excursions on foot or by MTB and suitable for families with children. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful cabin quite modern and in a great location. It can be reached from the Ritom funicular or from the Lukmanier pass, the paths have variable lengths and difficulties, therefore suitable for everyone. The dishes are delicious, first class products of excellent quality. The service is fast and quite friendly

I really liked it in this beautiful and modern hut. The food was very good and sufficient consisting of regional specialties. Next to the Alp you can see how the cows deliver the milk twice a day for the wonderful Alpine cheese.

Delicious lunch at the Cadagno hut! I had the pleasure of having lunch in the hut after a long walk, the staff was courteous and the service was very fast (excellent organisation!!). The tasty dishes, and the super generous portions. The owner patiently listed the available menu for us and took steps to satisfy our every request. The place is clean, well-kept, more modern than typical refuges, certainly welcoming. We closed the meal with a nice piece of cake (and I must say the choice was wide, all the desserts are home-made, as is the homemade pasta). The bill is in line with Swiss prices, but I must say fair considering the quality of the products. Super recommended!

A refuge with restaurant, new construction does not seem like the classic refuge. Many tables outside, and I think not suitable for hikers' picnics. Inside is very bright and almost aseptic. Cuisine with generous courses but for our baget a little expensive, a plate of gnocchi CHF 20 the same for a bottle of wine which is still very good, 3 CHF for a coffee. But for a cold day it was a healthy touch to eat in the heat. A surprise to find three compatriots serving the tables

Mega place. In my case, a Sunday trip from a highway parking lot. Entry by seasonal cable car is a nice attraction. A walk among the lakes 2000 meters above sea level Silence peace. Alpine atmosphere. One of the top best hikes

We were unfortunately very disappointed with the elusive hut hotel. Before going we were extremely intrigued. Cadagno's reputation for great luxury fascinated us and we were curious to experience it. Unfortunately, even if some things confirm expectations, the coldness and acidity of the owners takes away much of the quality with which Cadagno is narrated. After leaving two kidneys and four eyeballs the hutmen still proved difficult to interact with. If there had been more kindness and friendliness we would certainly have had a good experience but unfortunately we will have a bad memory of it.

We took the cold cuts and cheese platter and the polenta with wild boar ragù and it was all excellent; The desserts are good, especially the chestnut cake! We also tried the lentil soup with carrots and leeks and a roast beef dish, always of good quality. What makes me give 5 stars is above all the organization of the staff and their kindness, even though it was full they served us quickly and well! They even accommodated me for my intolerance!

The right place to refresh yourself after a nice walk. Very nice place that has maintained the appearance of a mountain hut characteristic of the area. Very kind and helpful staff, excellent choice of dishes, all truly delicious, from the platter of cold cuts and cheeses, to the first courses with the amazing wild garlic gnocchi and finishing with a wonderful apple and rhubarb cake. Congratulations to all the staff. I highly recommend it.

Great place. The nature is fantastic and also the architecture of this place is really nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is excellent, especially the homemade gnocchi. The service personnel is kind and forthcoming.

Newly renovated modern capanna right in front of the Lago Cadagno. We had a pleasant stay there, the surrounding natures are amazing, it’s worth a stay!

Nice place on the alpine mountain! You are in the middle of the mountains and you can have a joyfull Italian meal surrounded by amazing landscapes!

Great mountain hut in a beautiful location. The term hut is deceptive: it is a very modern, comfortable building, which, however, is based on the traditional architectural style (Rustico) and is therefore very appropriate.

Das hausgemachte Kuchen-Buffet ist unglaublich. Bei unserem Besuch an einem Dienstag wurden etwa 10 (!) verschiedene Torten & Kuchen gebacken und eine sah besser aus als die Andere. Unser Himbeerstreusel- & Marronikuchen war süüüündhaft gut!

Cibo casalingo davvero gustoso, ottimi gli gnocchi. La scelta dit torte mette quasi in difficoltà...e sono tutte buonissime. Personale molto gentile.Abbiamo molto apprezzato il consiglio di tornare alla diga sul sentiero nel bosco (dietro) invece che dalla strada. E`un pochino più lungo, ma ne vale davvero la pena.

Come in varie altre occasioni siamo stati accolti in modo cordiale.Anche se in capanna erano presenti numerose persone il servizio è stato ottimo.Cena di qualità, buon brasato con gnocchi di polenta e squisita punta di vitello ripiena. Per non parlare delle sempre ottime torte.La mousse all'Ovomaltine, secondo una delle nostre figlie, è stato il miglior dessert della sua vita.Grazie!

Capanna architettonicamente bella, cucina e servizio più che buoni, é obbligatorio assaggiare almeno una torta (la selezione à ampia). Non contate sulla privacy per le docce ne per le camere, che sono a piano terra. Se c'é qualcosa che migliorerei sono sicuramente le docce e il vostro sistema a gettoni, manca una panca per appoggiare il minimo indispensabile... Ma la vostra cucina compensa il lato rude.

Accoglienza eccellente, per mangiare non ho mai vissuto un servizion così rapido, con piatti molto buoni. La capanna in generale è belissima e molto pratica. Un'ottima tappa per una passeggiata nella regione.

Bellissima capanna con personale molto gentile e educato. Abbiamo mangiato la polenta con brasato ed era tutto molto buono. Prezzi molto onesti per essere in alta montagna. Diciamo che dopo una bella passeggiata è il posto ideale per recuperare un po’ le energie con un buonissimo pranzo. Complimenti!!

Darei 6 stelle solo per il fatto che prima di ordinare il pranzo di hanno servito una caraffa d'acqua frasca. Ottima la cucina.

Bellissima capanna. Ottimo cibo e prezzi onestissimi. Abbiamo mangiato oggi un' ottima polenta con formaggio piora. Buonissime torte.

Schöne Räumlichkeiten, gutes Essen, schöne Lage. Allerdings kein W-LAN, kein Netz und unfreundliches und unflexibles Personal gegenüber unserer Gruppe von Jugendlichen.

La location è spettacolare. Struttura molto bella, moderna, pulitissima e con una vista mozzafiato. Il personale è molto disponibiloe, familiare e gentile. Il cibo molto buono. Che dire altro, se capitate da quelle parti, anzichè portavi il pranzo al sacco, sedetevi belli comodi e gustatevi un buon piatto caldo. Consigliato.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Es hatte eine grosse Auswahl an feinen Kuchen. Zum übernachten war es Spitze. Sehr schöne Zimmer und ein sehr feines Nachtessen. Ich finde es sehr familienfreundlich. Für die Kinder hatte es sogar Spielsachen.

Bellissima capanna, tenuta molto bene. Ci siamo fermati per un pranzo veloce a metà di una scampagnata in bicicletta. Buon servizio, buono il cibo, vista molto bella, passeggiate stupende.

Ottima açcoglienza prezzi buoni 1l acqua gasata con 2 fette di limone 3 fr sembra non vero, Il mangiare prezzi onestissimi forse qualcuno dovrebbe impararare come si lavora.Bravo al capanat
