Bravo! The restaurant has to provide a hot meal for hundreds of people in a tight time frame. This works great here with very good quality!

The museum is excellent. If you can get a tour around the LHC and other experiments during downtime it is well worth it.

Go for pizza or grill. Chips are ok. Pasta always overcooked, they really have no idea on how to make it. Other dishes are rather strange, depends from the day, but generally not recommended. Desserts are surprisingly good.

To eat at CERN, enough. Without much fanfare but with a spectacular garden if you are lucky and the weather is good in Geneva.

The quality of the food is not great especially that of the side dishes. The hours to be in Geneva are good. The quality of the food is variable. Lately has become impossibile for me to eat at R1. Almost every single day (only one exception in one month) all the dishes proposed have gluten as allergen. All of them, not even one is gluten free. I think they should provide at least one gluten free dish per meal, as it was usually the case in the past. I don't think it's fair and correct that CERN's users and employees who have celiac disease are being discriminated and not taken care of. CERN is "one of the largest and most respected centers for scientific research" in the world, and as such you would expect more inclusivity and respect towards CERN's users and employees. Also, it has been quite some years that in Europe it is easy to provide a gluten free meal and this is the standard in every single respected and international environment. I hope that CERN someday will take example from other research facilities and start care equally for all its employees. The food is good, especially considering the price. It's EXTREMELY GOOD that they have and know all the allergens in every dish (I have celiac disease) even though I would suggest to take extra care if you have a serious condition like I do. The staff is polite and helpful, but since most of them speak only french is not always easy to communicate, which is not ideal considering that CERN is an international organization. Also, the price of the self-service food (the foods that you weigh) is crazy high and disproportionate compared to the menus, so be aware of it.

This place was quite expensive. I had the vegan kebab, which cost the equivalent of over 10 euros. The taste was also rather bad because the bread was far too hard and felt like crispbread. Plus, it felt like everything else was already sold out (we weren't there until 1 p.m.).

Nice self service resturant inside cern campus. There are lot of places to play table tennis, chess... prices are quite high for a similar service abroad but still very cheap compared to swiss restaurants

4 years away had made me forget how bad #1 is on a Sunday evening. The aubergine curry looked passable, but served with overcooked pasta and carrots that had been sitting in hot water for so long that they would have no resistance to a sieve!? The second star is for the nice strawberry tart.

The restaurant is always crowded, however the operation is run well. Additionally, there are plenty of choices for warm food and desserts. The price is not cheap in general but it’s acceptable for visitors. Self-service after dining, sorting system are highlighted. Take-away box is a deposit, so you’ll get money back for the take-away box when you return it.

The food is OK. Breakfast doesn't fulfill the needs of a non-Central European taste :D

The food is getting worse every year. No matter what is the pandemic situation it's always crowded and noisy. The food is usualy mediocre quality when it's french or Swiss dishes and very bad quality when it's foreign cuisine. Pizza can be almost raw (white crust) and sometimes it's burned on every side. The portion sizes are hilarious even for medium hunger- I don't understand how people can treat it as a main dish of the day. What tipped the scale for me was when I got dirty cutlery and when I went to exchange it for a clean set I got shouted at by the manager for taking it without any food... The only good side of R1 is that supposedly it's better than R3 and also that you can eat your own food there- who knows how much longer.

You choose the main course (meat/fish) with two side dishes (in my case rice and chips). Very good fries, the rest good too. Price of the menu of the day ranges from around €8 to €10. Dessert is not included. There is also the possibility of getting salads by paying by weight, or lots of other self-service stuff and then paying at the cash register. The meal in the photo cost 13.70 francs.

Very large, wide spaces and also compartmentalized with countless tables both indoors and outdoors. There is everything to choose the type of food, good quality, well seasoned. Adequate prices. Friendly service and attention.

Unfortunately it is closing already at 10pm at the moment but it is always a good place to stay at CERN.

The day I am posting the review is my first day at CERN. This cafeteria is excellent and you are going to casually see some very famous people here. Most of it is self serve unless you're requesting menu of the day pr pizza. Billing is done when you exit the place and enter the seating area. COVID 19 measures are perfectly put in place.

The selection is quite good. The best corner from two years ago i.e. the Italian pasta spot, is nowhere to be found anymore (would have warmly recommended a sortie there). I would say to go for game whenever possible, or stick to Swiss/French traditional dishes in any case.

A good place to have lunch if you are at CERN. There is even a vegetarian dish.
