The decor is original and we were given a very nice table. The food was excellent (we got the nut salad without bacon at our request) and the wine selection was large. The staff is attentive and nice.

Excellent open Spanish red wine. Salmon fillet with beetroot, onions and horseradish sorbet is a visual experience. The Tournedos Rossini was great again (cooking level was optimal again). The bouillabaisse was beautifully presented and tasted excellent (and the pot is big). Vegetable side dishes are visually very appealing and crisply prepared (nothing is too soft or watery). This is a Wow place, fro a lunch or a special dinner. We were in the small wooden room, so cozy and elegant inside the hotel Ambassador. Loved the food the special welcome for my husband’s birthday and the crepe Suzette was amazing. Service is a five star experience. Thank you. We will come again.

We made reservation for dinner at this classy restaurant with a group of friends. The place was vwere nice and elegant. The butler and staff were friendly. We ordered not many dishes because some of my friend got jet lag (just arrive from oversea flight in the morning). The starter was good, the French Onion soup was too salty, Smoked Salmon was OK, Cordon bleu was OK but a little salty, the steak was OK. Overall, it was a good meal with grat service but the taste was not very good as we expected. Moreover, the meal was pricey though.

I was hungry and had just been refused by the only two restaurants open in Simplon Dorf on my way back from Italy. So I phoned "des Cheminots" and found out they had a single table still available, that I reserved telling them I would be down from the pass in half an hour. What a good surprise to find a restaurant these days that serves oxtail with mashed potatoes just the way I used to cook it when I had little money and eight hours to surveil the cooking, i.e. when I was a poor student. The menu is interesting and even features a couple of elaborately cooked vegetarian dishes as well as well chosen high quality local, and foreign wines. There are three dining areas and the public appears to be "who is who" in Brig. I chose a turbot cooked to perfection accompanied by a high-end Petite Arvine and followed by a Pear Tatin. A delicate ox muzzle was served as "amuse bouche". The staff is expedient, observes when your glass is empty and has a good and discrete sense of humor. On the way down the flight of stairs to the perfectly kept toilets you can admire previous famous guests like a couple of former Swiss presidents. We had reserved a table for lunch but had not expected to be given the worst seating in the more than half empty dining room in the norther part of the hotel, squeezed in between another couple and the breakfast buffet, and staring at the industrial Hero jams and piles of plates. The waitress appeared to have been recently hired, the bread sucked and portions were small (two vertebral tail segments only!). Much of the praise we gave after our previous visit was unjustified this time.

We had a delicious lunch sitting outside in the garden and I’m giving top marks for the food, presentation and service.French style cuisine, as a starter I had grilled peaches with ham and burrata and for the main, grilled fish with an asparagus and pea risotto. For dessert I had a panna cotta. Exquisite!My husband had a fish soup (with an excellent rouille) followed by a beef tatar. All washed down with some nice local wine. All in all, a brilliant lunch!

Wir waren am 05.08.2020 Mittagessen (geschäftlich) im Cheminots. Aufgrund der gegenwertigen Situation wurde hier eine wirklich wunderschöne Terrasse kreiert.
