Choi's in Zürichsee (ZH)

The take out service is very good. All the food is amazing even when me and my family eat it 30 minutes after it is freshly made. Lady on the phone was very kind even though I had many extra wishes (no onions etc.) The order has never had a mistake. 5/5 i can fully recommended.

One of my favourite comfort restaurants. The food is just so tasty!Always full of flavour and always freshly cooked. I can really recommend the Sweet & sour shrimp as well as the Peking duck and there's a lot more delicious meals to choose from :)

Price/performance is great! The food is brilliant, be it chicken, pork, beef, duck, fish, scampi, vegetables, etc. - the sauces, the quality of the ingredients and the side dishes are sensational! A must for every taste and every wallet.

The starter was really delicious and recommended! The service was a huge disaster, very unfriendly! The main courses weren't very tasty, they were ok but definitely not worth the price, the meat was like rubber and the sauce tasted like a ready-made sauce. The ambience is a matter of taste, but when I see ants next to the table and a mountain full of dust, it disgusts me a bit. When it came to paying she told me 91-. And then I said that I would like to pay with the card and she was shocked when I said 91-. Because I didn't give her a tip, I found that very strange. I'm always very generous with tips, but the 91-. It was definitely too much for me for this poor service.

Tasty food, big sized portions and friendly staff. Their ambience is more on the rustic side. The crispy beef and the duck are both delicious there. They have a great affordable lunch deal.

The food was good, especially the spring roll. It is quite large and definitely tastes as if it has been made just recently. I would have hoped for a bigger wine selection. (There was only one type of Rosé) and the interior is pretty old school. As we were a larger group the food came at the same time and everything was hot. So all in all, thank you for having us.

Always very tasty food and friendly owners. Price performance is right here and our dog is always welcome

Good inexpensive Chinese dishes in the middle of the village

On November 12th, 2021 we had dinner at Choi's. The food was really good. The hosts are a bit stingy with the portion of steamed rice. To drink we ordered a jasmine tea. We were given ONE teapot with two tiny cups... As usual. The tea was also good. But we were charged two teas for Fr. 9.00...that's Fr. 4.50 per person We drank a total of 5 tiny little bags for the price of Fr. 9.00! It's a disgrace to charge like that! That borders on usury!

Good food, not run-of-the-mill Chinese. Service could be better.

Service was very friendly. The food came quickly. The menu was very tasty and plentiful.

My all-time favourites are: - almond fish - mapo tofu - and of course the Peking Duck!

Food all right. But the sauces with high probability stirred from powder and not homemade. Service could be more polite. Staff does not take notes and brings all orders to the wrong person (if ordered in a group, otherwise okay.)

Good cuisine, friendly service, for little money.

Wenn man ins Chois kommt fühlt man sich wieder wie ein Kind, dass zum ersten Mal chinesische Essen geht. Es sieht aus wie 1992 und wahrscheinlich ist auch da schon seit einiger Zeit nicht renoviert worden. Aber ich sehe darin kein Problem, das Essen ist sehr gut und das Preisleistungsverhältniss stimmt. Das Restaurant ist immer gut besucht und am Wochenende sollte man sogar reservieren. Wir holen uns das Essen meist jedoch als Take-Away.Die Bedienung könnte etwas freundlicher sein, aber wer schon mal in China war, weiss dass es so viel authentischer ist.

Authentically delicious Chinese food. Served with equally authentic, somewhat chilled Chinese charm. The only problem is that the dining room is filled with fumes from the kitchen, it stinks and almost burns your eyes. Broken ventilation? We would still go there again, the food is amazing and the prices too!

Date of visit / take away Feb 11 2018 -- paid for all food ordered but order was not complete - missing portion.Fulfilling an order and charging a customer does not require complicated training...rather basic check list! Not the happy family meal we had planned who wants that kind of aggravation with service, go somewhere else! No after service "sorry we were busy, next time you visit will be reimbursed" (ha!)

Surprisingly good cuisine, even if the selection of dishes doesn't stand out much from other Chinese restaurants. The quality is good and the ambience is cozy and old-fashioned. We like to go there, we also offer take away.

Very nice and quite Chinese restaurant with a decent choice of food. Prices are also fair. Would definitely go here again.

Our favorite: black pepper beef. Its really good. Poulet Sichuan is also very nice. Good service and good price.

My wife and I live in Männedorf and wanted to try the only Asian place here. We ordered by phone and picked it up. 2 times the spring roll - one order of spring rolls is basically just one "bigger" spring roll, probably just defrosted. It didn't taste good and was not really crispy, rather just soggy. For 4 CHF each this is a rip off for one spring rollSatay chicken - was ok, lots of vegetables and chicken, nothing great but ok.Lemon chicken - was ok, no veggies. Just a chicken breast in some lemon sauce. A true rip off for 18 CHF! Remember, you have to pay extra for the sides.Side of fried rice - the only true good thing we ateSide of fried noodles - a bunch oil ridden noodles for 8 CHF, also a rip off. All in all, it was a merely OK experience. We will never go back, any cheap Asian at the Zurich Main Station is better than this place.

Das Lokal ist unscheinbar und leider nicht sehr schön eingerichtet. Jedoch ist es für mich das beste chinesische Essen in der Umgebung! Da das Lokal nicht so schön ist, bestellen wir es vor und nehmen es mit (Wartezeit ca. 20min). Sehr sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet! Die Portionen sind sehr grosszügig! Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich! Der Bahnhof ist ca 2min zu Fuss entfernt und Parkmöglichkeiten hat es auch viele! Dieses Essen empfehle ich nur weiter!

Das Essen ist sehr gut im Restaurant, jedoch lässt der Service leider immer wieder zu wünschen übrig. Wenn man um 13.15 Uhr zum Mittagessen kommen möchte, dann heisst es " wir haben keinen Reis mehr und müssten extra nochmals Reis abkochen ". Na gut, dann halt ein andermal obwohl es am Mittag bis 14 Uhr offen hätte. Letztens leider das selbe, obwohl wir vorher angerufen hatten und uns telefonisch gesagt wurde, es wäre kein Problem! Vielen Dank dafür! Zudem müsste das Restaurant mal renoviert werden und ordentlich geputzt!Wir werden nach diesen Erfahrungen das Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen!

It's a shame... They don't stick to the opening times... It takes 20 minutes. Before the shop closes you are insulted with sayings like "we have to cook new rice..." It's a real shame... food good, service underground!!!

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne ins Choi's, denn das Essen ist sehr gut abgeschmeckt und Von hoher Qualität. Die Preise etwas zu hoch, da nichts renoviert wird. Entweder renovieren oder dann Preise etwas anpassen wäre fair.

The food is really great, the best Chinese in the area! I also think the atmosphere is very nice and simple with lots of beautiful pictures and extras, just perfect for such a small restaurant. The service is very friendly and accommodating. I think it's great that it's all Chinese, which makes it even more authentic.

Been here twice, both times very greasy food (spring rolls and main courses) and the taste is bland. The food is not good, even though I love Chinese. It's a shame that the food isn't finer, because the location, service and prices are good.

Von Aussen sehr unscheinbar und nicht besonders einladend. Drinnen alles veraltet und fleckig. In diesem Lokal muss dringend gröber Renoviert werden. Das Essen ist gut und der Service ist auch ok.

Weil unser Restaurant in Stäfa geschlossen hatte suchten wir ein anderes und landeten hier. Bereits von aussen ist es kaum erkennbar und nicht sehr gepflegt. Das ist dann auch im Innern so, schnörkellos, ohne chinesischen Schnickschnack.Dafür waren wir vom Essen positiv überrascht worden. Angenehme und geschmackvolle Portionen.Da komme ich wieder

Gutes chinesisches Essen in einer leider wenig attraktiven Atmosphäre. Schade dass so wenig Wert auf die Einrichtung und die Sauberkeit gelegt wird. Dieses Restaurant mit der guten Küche hätte bestimmt mehr Gäste.

Ein langweiliges chinesisches Essen ohne Pfiff. Viel Glutamat machen noch kein chinesisches Essen. Die Mittagsmenükarte ist alt, dreckig und wird vermutlich seit Menschengedenken benutzt.

Einfaches Lokal, ohne chinesischer Klimbim, das Essen kommt immer schön serviert mit frischen Zutaten. Geschmacklich ok, könnte noch etwas mehr Pfiff haben. Service ist aufmerksam. Immer günstigen Monatswein im Offenausschank. Preis Leistung stimmt, ein sicherer Wert im Dorf.
