Chüestall in Riederalp

There was no Wi-Fi, it was very cramped and uncomfortable, very expensive and you were thrown out straight away if you took a quick bite of your own bread near the entrance, even though you had left a lot of money there beforehand. You don't have to go there, there are better huts.

A visit to the Chüestall is definitely worth it! Regardless of whether the weather is sunny or bad, you feel comfortable here

Nice location to enjoy the sun on the terrace. The food is rather mediocre (a drop in comparison to other huts in the ski area), and above all there is no service on site, which is not okay given the prices

I paid and noticed that my meal was more expensive on the bill than on the menu. I then asked the waitress why this was so, now she snapped at me and said I should look on the first page of the menu. A few minutes later the unfriendly waitress came back and arrogantly and provocatively asked if I had found the reason. VERY INCOMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE EQUAL TO 0.🤬

The food is very good and the portions are sufficient. But an energy surcharge of 3%? Sorry, that's not possible if you have higher wage costs then pass that on to the food. Energy is nowhere as cheap as in Valais.

The waitress reacts annoyed when you ask her why she charges more expensive prices than what is on the menu.

Every year on our ski holidays we stop there for lunch a few times. Employees are always friendly and do their best to cope with the large number of people. Food is very good and is always served to the table quickly after ordering. Remember your table number before ordering.😉 Always extremely well attended in high season and when the weather is nice. While waiting for a free table, just enjoy the view and take it easy...

Stylish ski hut with steep prices Large selection of food and drinks, but not exactly cheap. You can eat inside and outside. You have to order at the bar outside, but food is brought to you. New (at least winter 2024) there is now a second bar container and an additional bar and raquelette tent. This should ease the previously long ordering times.

We went to the Chüestall for lunch. We (family of 3) consumed a total of 72 euros. My boy asked for an extra portion of mayonnaise with his fries. To my surprise I had to pay 1.00 for it. Otherwise, I was told, there would be none. I was very angry and found it petty and shameful. Otherwise, we always enjoy being in the Chüestal, but I still have to think about whether it will stay that way after this embarrassing incident. A pity! and you don't need something like that?!

A short stop at the Chüestalll is part of a day of skiing on Bettmeralp. The Spaghetti Munderart is excellent and of course the Chüestall Kaffi is a must.

Bought food and also had a picnic. Employee allowed picnicking upon request. The boss came to us very rudely afterwards and claimed that the employee had never allowed us to do this. Reduced us to our home, didn't want to listen to us and remained stubborn even after we tried to explain everything to Him. Food overpriced, not fine, interior too small, and the outside area very uncomfortable.

Great food, nice atmosphere - perfect for a break including good service and good wine! 🍷 always happy!

We are 6 adults and ate in the Chüestall yesterday. We all ordered something warm. The food was good, the portions were sufficient. Then two of us ordered another dessert. We wanted to share one and asked for a second plate. Answer: you have to pay extra for the plate, but a second spoon is free. I find that if 6 people are eating and drinking, a second plate should be brought at no additional cost. We paid a total of over 200 francs. We then left the tip alone. They would have earned more from good customer service. It's a shame, the catering industry is destroying itself.

Very good salad as well as very good cakes and coffee including a side dish. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient.

We often visit the Chüestal. The vast majority of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food and drinks always come quickly and well. Today, however, we had a very bad experience that shouldn't happen like that. The restaurant became more and more crowded, so we slid together and made room for other people. As we were just finishing our drinks the chef took our jackets and helmets and placed them where he wanted them. When I intercepted or took away his jacket and helmet and said that I could do it myself, he said 'The chair is not a place to rest'. It was a very disappointing situation. In addition, we made extra space and were insulted viciously for it. Very unprofessional! Finally, I really have to emphasize again that the rest of the staff is extremely friendly!

Lovely spot on the mountain. Very sunny all day. I was there for season opening....I just hope the staff will improve with time (nothing personal, no real issues) it's not cheap, but the food is good, and a wonderful place for lunch, or to finish your day and watch the sunset

Beautiful oasis in the middle of the mountains. Very well maintained, fantastic floral decorations and attention to detail in the restaurant. We enjoyed the mountain breakfast, very extensive, fine and beautifully presented. We'd love to come back!

Nice location right on the ski slopes. Very beautiful view. We ordered our fries at the counter, after which they were served very quickly. The system worked well, friendly employees. The fries were fine and to our liking. Depending on the situation, you may have to wait in line to order, but we were lucky. Prices are generally at the upper limit.

Very tasty brunch, which is also possible on weekdays if you book in advance. Bread, croissants, meat, cheese, egg dishes, muesli, orange juice and 2 coffees per person included for only CHF 25.-. Staff very friendly and helpful. A feel-good place!

In our opinion the best restaurant in the arena: by far the largest selection of absolutely delicious food at a reasonable price. The barley soup and the Bärgler risotto are highly recommended. It's a shame that both booths on the terrace are not open all the time...

Place and service are good. Food is rather expensive and eat sola. Barley soup was more soup than barley.

If you like to have lunch or relax on the slopes with a great view, the Chüestall is the right place. The Chüestal fills up very quickly. So if you want a place, you have to arrive very early. I have always found the service staff to be friendly and accommodating. The food is really delicious! I really like the cheese slices and the burger. I would love to come back. Keep it up!! We recommend.

A must if you're going on a nice hiking tour in the snow like today, or if you're out on snowshoes or skiing. It's worth stopping by 👌🏼

What a juice shop, you buy a mulled wine for 8.50 and your little daughter isn't even allowed to eat her sandwich on the outside because picnics are forbidden... that was the last time - Riederalp was friendlier 20 years ago

Full indoor restaurant on the terrace despite the snow coffee and coke at 10.40chf staff or have an unfriendly order, order from the staff and take no service on the terrace that day. Too bad Very pretty restaurant

We sat inside for lunch (about 70 seats). Cholera, Röschti and vegi burgers were excellent. Service was quick and really nice, the temperature and smell in the dining room was pleasant. It's served inside and self-service outside. Card payment is no problem. Reservations are not accepted.

We went on a day that was not the holiday season. The restaurant was decently busy, but not crowded. However, the staff seemed overwhelmed and did not act friendly. Really not the service you want to experience. Good point for the end: the food was excellent!

We were able to celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday exclusively in the Chüestall, an absolutely unforgettable experience. The food was first class, very finely and carefully prepared, sensational deserts. Very nice staff!! I can only warmly recommend it.

When a soup is served with cream which is off , tested by 8 members of the table , we sent it back … The waitress told off that she would remove it from the bill - which was very nice . However she came back and told us that nothing will be done , adding - “it did not go down very well with the chef “ Cannot believe that this kind of behavior can happen in Switzerland !
