Confiserie Hofer in Solothurn

Here, in an original ambience, the coffee culture is not cheap but is exquisite. A special roast made for Hofer by the Solothurn Oetterli roastery. And you can taste it. Not your run-of-the-mill gastro coffee, but something you can't find anywhere else. Wonderful!

Delicious coffee and cocoa, many goodies, cakes, pastries and a good atmosphere.

Very nice cozy cafe. The service was very friendly. The products are not cheap but definitely worth the price. A place to linger comfortably.

The best Confiserie in town, the almond puff pastry filled with some kind of sweet magic cream was out of this world, really… and the design of the cakes, oh my… beautiful place

The visit to the Hofer bakery in Solothurn left me with an ambivalent impression. First, I would like to mention the positive aspects: The ambience of the bakery is inviting, the selection of baked goods is diverse and the quality of the products is mostly good. I was particularly impressed by the fresh rolls and pastries. Unfortunately, I also have to share some negative experiences. During my visit I was unlucky that the boss himself wanted to take my order. It turned out that he was overwhelmed and didn't take the order correctly. When I pointed out that it was actually one of his employees who had taken my order, I was literally lectured and suggested that I was wrong. This incident left an extremely unpleasant impression on me. Overall, I felt there was a lack of professionalism and customer focus from management. If not even the boss is able to take an order correctly, the question arises about the competence of the entire company. Customers should be confident that their orders will be treated correctly and courteously, regardless of who takes them. In the future, I may avoid Hofer Bakery and look for alternatives that offer better service. It's a shame that such inadequacies affect the reputation and customer satisfaction of an otherwise promising bakery.

Unfortunately the last time I was here because the boss is absolutely rude. We were at the table inside and at some point went outside to smoke. When we got back, he moved our bags to another table so that other guests could sit at the larger table. He didn't even apologize for the circumstances, he just said, "You're sitting there now." The waitress and guests apologized, but the owner didn't make any effort. Two friends came along to meet us. So we ran out of tables for everyone and just left.

The staff is very friendly and there is a wide selection of delicious food and drinks. You can either sit comfortably in the café or take the food and drinks home with you.

I paid 4 francs for a glass of water, I paid 3.50 francs for the cake (very fair price). More than 7 francs and the waitress didn't even serve me at the table, I had to bring the cake and the glass of water to the table myself. The cake was dry and difficult to swallow. The terrible service. How do you charge more than 3 euros for a glass of water, without even serving it??? I strongly advise against it.

Mediocre, but clearly excessive price for tap water. Tap water may cost something, but that is usury.

Was in the Hofer today. I prefer the sandwiches from the coffee hall. They were rubbery and very small.

We've been waiting outside for 45 minutes, I was inside and wanted to order, but I was told my colleague would be coming soon. Unfortunately after 20 minutes there was still nothing to drink so we got up and left. Not recommended...

While walking through the city, I noticed the selection of chocolates, some of which were exotic, and spontaneously decided to visit the city Bought the assortment of chocolates for 35 CHF. The chocolates are very good; However, it would be helpful if there was a note included with the range that provides information about the different compositions

The tower breakfast was very good actually. An ancient voucher was still valid. I just had to pay the difference. That's what I call customer friendliness.

A place where you can taste a wide variety of sweets and sandwiches. The location is in the center of the city and the theme is focused on art. I definitely recommend it. Do not hesitate to visit it to discover the typical products of Canton Soloura

It's a shame that they close at 5pm on weekends!

Saturday 07/01/23 morning. Beaten for 20 minutes. Sat and waited. Despite a lot of serving staff, there was no sense of responsibility to clear the dishes from the previous guest or even to ask me if I had ordered something. If you don't have it anymore If you need it, leave it alone or the staff will simply overlook guests, which is also ok. In any case, that was the last time I was with you.

Very good and very tasty offer. The café is always busy. The service is friendly, but sometimes a bit overwhelmed when the house is full.

I only drank a coffee. The desserts look good though. Next time then.

I love this cafe! Location, furnishings, atmosphere... everything is great :) However, the one employee with the short hair and glasses is extremely unfriendly... I heard and experienced several times how she seemed "annoyed" and insulted the customers, because she is "so stressed" (screams at the customers with "I'm coming!" (even though the cafe was empty or the customers didn't want to stress her at all, they just wanted to ask where the toilet is). That's what the employee is for with the longer dark and tied hair, a little shorter, probably Albanian the BEST waitress I have ever met. She deals great with customers (and stress), always has a smile on her face and if a problem should arise, she can Always solve this really well. She really makes you feel welcome. You could use her as a role model :)

The café itself is great, I always come here to study. The service and the offerings are also great, with the exception of this one waitress, who is unfortunately very unfriendly and always seems annoyed. Otherwise great.

Hofer, a legend. Top quality. Fine treats. Only 4 stars because in my opinion the prices are set too high despite great craftsmanship and top products

The waitress, Ms. “Borka,” overlooked us and we had to make ourselves known after 5 minutes. Drinks okay. Ladies toilet on the 1st floor? Including changing option. How does it work with people with disabilities?

Very rude manners from the boss.

I will never set foot in one of the Hofer branches again. What I experienced there a week or so ago is really the last thing. And that from the boss! I really feel sorry for the employees. We sat outside with four friends. When I was ordering, I politely asked the waitress if it would be possible to close the blinds so we could sit in the sun. While she was still answering me, Mr. Hofer promptly intervened and snapped at me. He won't retract the blinds, after all, the sun doesn't shine and even if he did, it wouldn't do any good to retract the blinds. I tried to point out to him, still very politely, that he could tell me that with a little respect. Afterwards I ordered my drink. Back at my (unfortunately still shady) place we were waiting for the drinks when the waitress came and told me that the boss didn't want to serve any drinks with oat milk today. (Although I got the exact same drink two weeks earlier). Shortly afterwards Mr. Hofer appears and I ask him what alternative I would have to my drink. After all, I already paid for it. Then he says to me: “If you want a chocolate with oat milk, go to the Suteria.” When I then ask for my money back, he pulls out his wallet and hands me a ten franc note. Which I found to be very disrespectful and arrogant. I explained to him that I would like to get back the exact amount I paid for my drink. And not ten francs from his own pocket. He then disappears. A short time later someone brings me a drink to the table. I am told that this is now a chocolate with oat milk. Since it spoiled my appetite anyway after the discussion with Mr. Hofer, I understandably didn't drink the drink. My friends were also horrified, as were the other guests around us. We left the restaurant shortly afterwards and while we enjoyed the bright sun, we vowed never to set foot in one of the Hofer restaurants again.

Unfortunately, the service is always stressed and not very friendly. The quality of the goods is there, but you only feel welcome to a limited extent.

We come here every now and then on Sundays for breakfast. The breakfast offering is good, as is the coffee. An alternative to cow's milk would be desirable (oats, soy...)

Very good and cozy. Parking spaces are just under 300-400 meters away and are easily accessible on foot. Coffee was delicious and water was served with it. The chocolates with the coffee were delicious. Gladly again.

Food and drinks great, employee flop. There is an employee who is very rude, unmotivated and cheeky. It's understandable if someone is having a bad day, but there's no reason to let it out on your customers. (description: a piercing on the eyebrow, the employee with a bun is slightly larger)

Price-performance ratio in the cafe is not right for me. Hot chocolate was at most lukewarm. And the price is too high for the size. You can also find 2.5 dl of tap water on the menu for CHF 3.10... that's not possible! Actually -2*...want to be merciful.

Delicious breakfast but too long of a wait, already at 8:30... Only regular guests are greeted with a smile. A pity.

A traditional confectionery that has been well attended and popular for decades, with wonderful delicacies... and with poor service and unfriendly staff. And this in both shops.

Large and comfortably furnished café or confectionery. The selection of food and drinks is large. The house tea is highly recommended.

Seating where you sit almost on top of each other. At the same time there are hardly any employees who serve. Not recommendable!

Charming tee-room chocolate shop. Small terrace in a pleasant alley. Inside, friendly, pleasant and helpful staff. Once seated on the terrace with your snack you can wait a long time for someone to come and serve you a coffee and a cold chocolate, so long that you have eaten the excellent pastry! This young lady has no concept of service and must not know that a tray is a tool par excellence in her profession and that we do not carry a cup and a glass on every journey! Too bad, really bad!

The last meal...! Unfortunately, that was the last meal in the Hofer Restaurant. For some time now I have noticed that the menus have been getting smaller and the starter salad has been omitted. Today the lunch menu “Thai green curry with rice noodles and chicken” reached a new low. After waiting for 40 minutes, the service specialist informed us that the order had not been correctly transmitted to the kitchen. Of the two daily menus ordered, only one meal was available. My companion then ordered a clay roll - with the hope that the meals for it would end up on the table quickly. After another 20 minutes of waiting, our meals were finally served. Unfortunately, the green Thai curry had nothing at all like a green curry. Instead, the lack of taste was covered up with excessive spiciness. The service staff offered us bread in the meantime. Although we answered this question in the affirmative, we were not served bread, which would have been useful to neutralize the excessive spiciness. On the way back to the office I took a detour to the Coop. At least there is bread...

If you order a packaged salad for 8.50 at the counter, eat the salad at a table in a deserted room and bring the plate back, the pleasure of sitting on a chair for 15 minutes costs: Sfr. 4.- Of course, this surcharge is nowhere to be found on the counter or in the room. I'm flabbergasted - I already knew that the food at Hofer was overpriced. Apparently just sitting is it too. By the way, the quinoa salad was bland.

Sitting outside is really nice but when it rains it's too dark for them to sit but otherwise it's ok.

Hofer has really delicious canapés but the staff when you want to eat there are always overwhelmed, especially when the weather is beautiful Hofer is FULL then I would recommend you plan time and if you are not starving then be prepared for a long wait but the food is really tasty

So the pastries are very good and delicious. The saleswoman was super nice and helpful. ;-). The restaurant wasn't that great. The coffee was fine, but the service was very unfriendly. I had to wait a long time to pay, even though 3 employees were chatting around at the back of the restaurant...
