Delicious Lake Geneva perch fillets! The perfect egg, a real killer

A magical place by the lake, the cuisine is traditional, well prepared, although it is not a gastronomic restaurant.

We had a family gathering here at Creux-de-Genthod last Saturday evening. There was filet de perches and a salad as a starter. Since I'm not a fan of salad, I left it out and preferred the filts even more. French fries were served as a side dish. The fish and the fries tasted very tasty; We also drank a light rosé wine. Surprisingly, the dessert was an ice cream cake with raspberries, which our host specifically ordered on Saturday morning. There was nothing wrong with the attentiveness and friendliness of the service and we sat in a side room that we had almost to ourselves. All in all it was very enjoyable, very relaxed, with good food and service; lovely again!!!

It's good, but it adds up really quickly. The terrace is beautiful. The portion of perch fillets on 1 plate is microscopic. The fries are good and crispy. The margin charged on bottles of wine is pure madness. Easily 4x, without forcing...

Very cosy atmosphere in a winter evening, with a heartwarming woodfire. The foie gras was delicious, the perch filet prepared lightly and tastily, and the desserts (both meringue and incredible mouse au chocolat) heavenly. Last but not least, the service is very attentive.

When we arrived we have been told that the restaurant is fully booked even thought it was almost empty. When I called later once we left the place, there were tables available. Maybe we would have been treated differently if my partner was not black. Never ever again!

Restaurant du Creux-de-Genthod embodies true luxury and fine dining, a sentiment we embraced during a celebratory family dinner for my brother's birthday. The velouté d'artichauts, a creamy artichoke soup crowned with Swiss cream cheese, set the stage for an extraordinary culinary experience. For the main course, my brother relished the filet de boeuf—a perfectly medium rare beef adorned with a delightful mushroom sauce, grilled vegetables, and creamy polenta. My salmon entree, accompanied by a refreshing marinade, and a side of excellent mushroom risotto, contributed to the excellent variety of flavors. Mom's choice, the un Oeuf parfait, delivered a creamy and light delight, followed by a classic filet de pêrche with crispy fries—a Geneva specialty. Dad and I both opted for the salmon entrees, while he indulged in the Christmas specialty, lièvre royale—a tender, medium rare meat in a wine-infused sauce with grilled vegetables and parsnip puree. Despite the elevated prices, the culinary excellence at Restaurant du Creux-de-Genthod proved worth every penny. The intimate and cozy ambiance seamlessly matched the luxurious aesthetic, making our dining experience memorable and truly fine - finely recommended! A place hidden like a treasure...a pearl of Lake Geneva. When you arrive, the setting is fantastic, the lake, the mountains and a few boats. This restaurant has a large terrace. It’s December so inside. A very classy, ​​pleasant and cheerful service. The dishes are excellent, foie gras, traditional Lake Geneva perch fillets, game for 1 guest, And of course the desserts. Immediately after my fist bite, I told my husband “they have a new chef” Flavors explode in your palate… purée de patate douce with a touch… just close your eyes and enjoy! “the tiramisu revisité” is beautifully presented, creative and delicious mix of flavors and textures. Impressive restaurant with typical fish from Lake Leman in Geneva, we went there with a friend who lives in Geneva and it was really, very good and we enjoyed a pleasant evening and dinner with a sensational temperature, with respect to the restaurant, the brutal terrace overlooking the Lake and comfortable, we really liked the food, especially and without hesitation the fish. Regarding the price, that is another issue, as in all of Switzerland you must be able to afford the luxury of assuming the high prices, approximately €90 per person.

July 8, 2023 birthday party with my mother who specifically requested a table with a lake view. Arriving there, a dark-haired woman told us that it was impossible to reserve a table, accusing us of lying even though 3 tables remained free all evening. In short, we were placed where we wanted and were very well served by a very professional waitress with a nice southern accent for which and the only one we give 5 stars. At the end of the meal we try to speak to the 'chef' who, before even letting us speak, attacks us, telling us that he has only had good things to say about his little protégé. Bad luck for him, we made friends with a client from Quatar and her children who was perfectly received and placed at the edge of the lake without reservation. After having been regular customers and after having even reserved rooms within this establishment which has definitively lost us, We therefore strongly advise people wishing to have a good time to move on and go instead to Floris, to Certoux in the pearl of the lake or any other place that will welcome you with dignity.

We have been to this restaurant often in the past and have not been back for some time. The surprise was big and extremely disappointing. Perch fillets from Lake Geneva for 51.- we were served on a plate there were around fifteen fillets with fries and the usual salad. At this price we expected a second service but no nothing more! Basta così arrivederci!! We got away with an addition of more than 350.- for two people and a child. Fortunately the service people are very nice to pass the bill. In any case, you can eat perch fillets elsewhere than in this tourist factory for half the price on the final bill, I assure you, and the perch fillets are also fresh and guaranteed to come from Lake Geneva. In short, unless you like being robbed, I don't recommend it. In any case we won't see him again anytime soon!!

First time in this restaurant. Magnificent discovery. Impeccable service, we were served by Kevin and it was a pleasant service full of courtesy and good humor. I took the menu of the week and I can testify that the taste and the quantities are more than present. For the starter, the gougère was a magnificent discovery with its perfect mousse and dried meat. As for the tab, it is tender, the vegetables are full of flavor, there is no shortage of quantity! To finish, the frozen Vacherin was very balanced, a perfect taste between vanilla and strawberry. To finish with what I ate I can only emphasize the mastery of the dishes from A to Z. And having tasted the chocolate mousse I highly recommend it, its orange chocolate has reconciled me with this mixture! And obviously a special mention to their specialty which is lake perch which was also a magnificent discovery and I was able to see a generous plate of both fries and fish. Now if I had to end with a final positive note I would emphasize the warm and human side of this restaurant. This is not advice but an invitation to go to a restaurant that will satisfy anyone thanks to its diversity, its speed of service, and the kindness that I have emphasized from the beginning. For this evening, this experience, I say, I warmly thank the chef, the cooks, the waiters, and all the staff in its entirety for introducing me to such cuisine. My partner and I have just had a very bad experience! After making a reservation we went to the place, we were kindly greeted by a lady who seated us at a table. This table did not suit us because the chairs were too low compared to the height of the table. The lady informed us that if our table did not suit us she could seat us at a table closer to the lake which would soon become available. The table being quickly freed we looked for the lady who was in charge of the seating. This is where “the head” of the department who was serving a table spoke to us in a haughty, arrogant and authoritarian manner, reprimanding us (I really had the feeling that I had just been told to shut up) in front of everyone. neighboring tables except that we just wanted to go to the table that was offered to us later. In fact, we decided to leave the place immediately and he came to apologize for having upset us… Would we have had better preferential treatment if we had been lighter-skinned?

Very cheery!!! And not justified. A starter of risotto at CH 21.00 a small quantity in the middle of the plate!!! The very limited menu to force you to eat a plate of perch fillets at CH 51.00 and the dessert menu 4, very poor choice. If it's for the view go have a drink but it's not a place to eat well.

We celebrated our civil wedding there, and everything was perfect! We had a table of 15 people, and everything was handled brilliantly! Hidden away it is possibly one of the nicest places in Geneva. Not only the restaurant, but also the surrounding area. The restaurant is next to a small beach, which in turn is nestled in a small bay, making it idea for families with small children. The restaurant is very good, not the most expensive restaurant although a little on the expensive side even for Geneva. In my opinion it is still worth spending the money, good food, good service and an unbeatable ambience. Now to the fly in the honey, parking. There are parking spaces, but they are seriously limited for the number of visitors. There is also limited parking in the surrounding area. Enjoy the food, the wine, dangle your feet in the water and take a taxi.

This terrace is magnificent! Lake perch fillets! Very very good. Great choice of wine (Marie-Thèrese Chappaz, Domaine de la Colombe,…). A little expensive (21 francs for a glass of champagne, 18 francs for a very small plate of cheese).

In the top!! I recommend !! There were 12 of us celebrating my birthday as well as my father's, and despite the number of customers and our large table, from the kitchen to the service everything was perfect! We had an assortment of aperitif dishes where we were able to find tapenade, hummus and fresh cheese, it was perfect! Then, from starter to dessert I enjoyed myself. Special mention for today’s dessert, a fruit soup and sorbet, perfect for today’s heat! I'll be back. Thank you for everything !

Gorgeous view over lake Geneva. You sit on a large terrace near a local yacht port. Very good menue of the day and filets perches. Typical French bistrot but slightly elevated. Quite expensive but worth given the location.

A beautiful location and that's all you can enjoy about the place. Extremely overpriced food tastes just ok at best and the worst service among Geneva restaurants makes you feel horrible. Some of the waiters should not be in service business. You can find a lot better restaurants with the money in Geneva.

Pretty terrace by the lake. Large parking lot and landing stage for boats. But the most important thing is that you can eat there in the afternoon when all the other restaurants are closed. We ate the excellent perch fillets accompanied by local white wine. The service was impeccable and fast. The lady was very kind and smiling. We will definitely come back.

Very slow but nice to sit and just have a drink or bite to eat. Disappointed that the only tea they offered was Earl Grey which is an acquired taste .. even for the English . My husband though enjoyed the capachinno while I just had a glass of water .

We came to eat on September 30, 2022 with my partner. The meal went well, we ordered the restaurant's famous perch fillets, which were delicious (probably the best we ate in Geneva). They came with a salad for each place setting. My partner then realized that there was a caterpillar in his salad (quite large). We called one of the servers to discreetly report this incident. We were treated to some humor – “It’s protein!” » - and the salad went back to the kitchen. We did not hear a single word of apology, although we were very polite and were in no way rude to the waiters. It obviously wasn't their fault. At the time of the bill, the waiter mentioned that he had offered coffee to my partner. I won't hide from you that we expected more, as a gesture on your part, knowing that we still found a rather large caterpillar in one of our salads, and that our ticket was very expensive (one starter, two aperitifs, two perch fillet dishes, a bottle of red wine, a coffee and a digestive). We were very cordial and discreet. In our opinion, the least we could have done was to offer the dish to the person who had the inconvenience, namely my partner. Charming restaurant charmingly located on the shore of Lake Geneva. Well-kept interiors, friendly and impeccable service. Meals of excellent quality and workmanship. Sophisticated and delicious desserts. Costs higher than the Swiss average but with the possibility of tasting menus that vary depending on availability and season. It's worth going there.
