Very friendly and the food was really good 👍🏼

Was there for the second time. Like the first time, the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and you never had to wait long if you had a request, even though it was quite busy. The prices are not cheap, but quite reasonable for the portions served. Honestly, anyone who leaves here hungry is doing something wrong. I will definitely eat there again!

The food wasn't what we ordered, it wasn't warm and tasted bland. The staff was very inattentive and took a long time. It was also too “convenient” and we had to pay at the bar. The table we were given was so cold from the ventilation that we put our coats back on. It wasn't a successful visit for a birthday. I'm going home disappointed today.

We were at cucaracha for a birthday event. The table was decorated accordingly. The drinks were delicious. The portions of the food were large, almost too large. The food was good but nothing special, it all tasted about the same. As a birthday surprise there was a cake with a candle and music. The service was friendly. The prices are rather high.

Good food but very bad service... although friendly, we waited up to 50 minutes each time. on our food, then it came lukewarm... Wrong drinks. . And at the next table they were given alcohol in a non-alcoholic drink they had ordered. I wanted to talk to the manager, but she didn't seem to want to. NO MORE!!!!

Since there is an all-you-can-eat buffet at lunchtime for CHF 20.50 (including a drink), you can finally go out for a quick meal there again. 👍

We won't be coming back! Ambiance top. Only the food wasn't good enough for us to eat here again. Little taste and carelessly prepared. The service cleared my companion's empty plate while I was still eating. Left a stressful impression even though we were there on a Sunday and only two other tables were still occupied. It's a shame, the atmosphere is really cool, but there isn't anything else that I liked.

As always, a great pleasure to eat here. The food is very good. Products consistently fresh. The ambience is unbeatable! You immediately feel like you are in Mexico. Even more beautiful in winter. The service must be mentioned separately: friendly, competent and a joy to do the job. Hats off!! 😄👌

Great cocktails! There's another star for that! It's just a shame that we weren't informed at 5 p.m. that they had cocktail happy hour until 6 p.m. The food is ok. The cocktails were very, very good!!

Good drink selection and a good choice of virgin cocktails too. On Fridays there is a live DJ with dancing. The crowd is quite young but it was fun!

Great lunch buffet for 21.50 including a soft drink. We go there regularly because you can serve yourself and we can afford it as a family. The kids really enjoy being there. The menus at the buffet are already at the limit of spiciness. Almost too spicy for me. If you find it not spicy enough, you can season it up with everything on the table.

Ordered for the 3rd time in the sense of all good things come in 3 but unfortunately that wasn't the case. For the 3rd time with an order value of 50.00 CHF, WHAT WAS ORDERED WAS NOT RECEIVED. The food was cold and not edible. You have to CHECK the orders before they are delivered, something like that can't be that difficult. It can happen sometimes, but three times in a row is questionable.

Unfortunately our food wasn't tasty at all. We ordered chicken burritos and fajitas and unfortunately it was very dry and the chicken tasted very rotten…

So, this bar seriously needs to step up its game when it comes to creating a safe space for women to dance without being hassled by guys. It's a big problem because it ruins the whole vibe for everyone and messes with how inclusive the place is supposed to be. They need to get their act together by having better security, clear rules against harassment, and training for their staff. When complaining to one male staff about being constantly sexual harassed by a guy, he responded that they could not do anything. Only a female staff reacted it appropriately. Without these basic safeguards, the bar just isn't giving off the right vibes for everyone to have a good time without worrying about creepy stuff. Fixing these issues is key to making sure everyone feels welcome, especially the ladies who just want to hit the dance floor without dealing with any harassment.

The food was portioned very small for the price asked. The service was very rude and unfriendly when we ordered. After that it was not possible to reorder because no one came by. The ambience was nicely decorated but very dark with flickering lights

After 20 minutes waiting to be served we left. There weren't that many people, the waiters just ignored us.

The ambience is authentic and a highlight every time. The waitresses are always friendly and very quick. The bartender knows his craft and can rightly be called an expert, Mojito and Classic Magarita dance on the tongue to the mariachi music playing in the background. Food is also very good and all in all it's a place I want to stay again and again...God I miss Mexico!

Fajita lunch buffet all you can eat. Good food, friendly service, including a drink for 19.50 CHF. We happened to pass by and spontaneously tried it out. We'll definitely be back, the kids enjoyed it.

The starter was enough for 2 people - For dessert we had churros, delicious and freshly made with chocolate or caramel sauce. - The cocktails are beautifully decorated & you don't skimp on the alcohol ;) Value for money 5⭐ Very nice service 5⭐ Ambiance 5⭐ The chandelier made from empty alcohol bottles is a real eye-catcher!!! Highly recommended - as a couple, with family, friends or alone 😊👍

Despite the restaurant being empty, we got a table that was far too small for three people. The reason was that the other tables were reserved... The staff is nice but uncoordinated. Got the bottled drink and had to wait forever for the bill.

The food was really very tasty. You can taste that everything is made fresh. We were there at lunchtime. All you can eat for 19.90 francs per person. Wow and that in Switzerland. The staff is really great. Great atmosphere and very clean. Everything suited us. We felt very comfortable there and will definitely go there again.

The “Rindsfilet” on slate is excellent! Very good, fast and friendly service. Cocktails according to the rules of the art too. There is a nice terrace and the interiors are magnificent. Careful welcome, a place where we do not benefit from passing tourism, quite the contrary. A must-see in Basel.

The service was incredibly great, as was the food :) we had actually planned to go to the Yardbird, but it was closed. That's why we decided to go to Cucaracha, and we're really happy about it! We were cold and the server even brought us blankets, I can only recommend it!

This picture says everything about the operation. There are hardly any guests and yet you wait 20 minutes for a simple drink. Friendliness and service are very important here. It's a shame, because the food and drinks would actually be good...

Food was good, but a bit cold when served. Service was extremely inefficient. We sat 30 minutes with dirty plates and empty glasses before I decided to call them and ask for dessert myself.

Celebrated my 23rd birthday on a Saturday with 14 people. Unfortunately I was so disappointed with the service. - Food sometimes came very late and only after asking several times - Service staff was unfriendly - A tip was required even though such poor service was provided - Empty plates, cutlery and glasses were not even cleared away before dessert. My conclusion: Next time I'll celebrate my birthday somewhere else...

It was catastrophic! I ordered fajita with planted stripes and received fajitas with chicken, I'm a vegetarian. Only when I took the first bite did the waiter come and say this was chicken. Afterwards he brought something like falafel, which of course wasn't these planted strips. The reason was they didn't have any more. I then raised my hand several times to ask for the menu. He saw me twice and just ignored me. I then called my companion twice and only then did he bring the menu. I then asked for another waiter, but he came back. I have never experienced such terrible “service” anywhere. He didn't even apologize. Unheard of. I do NOT recommend Ciracha to ANYONE!

Honestly, I was a bit irritated by some bad reviews online. Yesterday we were there with 6 people and ate various fajitas, drank Margerita and Basel water and it was excellent. Great atmosphere, the atmosphere is great and the staff was very friendly, so I can't understand a single bad review. We will definitely come back! I don't know of a star I should deduct... thanks for the great evening!

The waiter was incredibly nice and looked after us very well the whole evening. We were celebrating a birthday and received a main course and a dessert for free. All of this even with serenades :)) The food was incredibly tasty, although a bit expensive, but that's completely appropriate given the performance. The drinks and food came quickly, were fresh and very filling. Thanks to these great experiences, I will definitely come back to Cucaracha often.

Was pleasantly surprised. Together with, for example, nachos con queso as a starter, and 1x main course fajitas with giant prawns is enough for two people. The service is clearly too hectic. The motto doesn't have to be: faster, but carefully. The furnishings contribute a lot to the ambience and are really eye-catching, especially the bar wall and the bottle lamp...How is anyone supposed to clean that regularly?!?.....

It used to be better. Some of the staff only speak broken German and take the order incorrectly. Still has room for improvement.

This place used to be a great place to eat. However, today I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the products. My burrito was tasteless and the burgers were very cold. We had to wait a long time for the food to come and then this... catastrophe

Nachos were served in less than a minute and were clearly ready in the kitchen before the initial order (soaked up by the sauces and low warm. The cheese was already hard again and not “melty” as it should be) The plate I ordered had more sauces than anything else. The left over was at least 50% of all sauces…. There was just not enough to deep in it!

The food was okay, the service was stressful. Unfortunately, our birthday child (birthday 2 days before the visit) didn't get the main course for free, as was stated on the menu, but only a small dessert! If this has changed, it would be good to adjust the cards too!

The attentive Angy is in your company is an enrichment for your company, very attentive and always smiling, she served our table yesterday. With humor she brought us the food and the recommendation of churros was 100% confirmed and they were awesome. The mood was very good. The only thing that would improve these chicken pieces with flakes that go on the salad would be that next time they would be a little juicier and not so dry. Very poor training of staff regarding allergens and ingredients. We got the wrong food twice and despite the restaurant being empty we waited for 2 hours...

The food and drinks have always been good, but when there is an event (which you can see online) or at peak times it sometimes takes a little more patience, but that's perfectly fine. Because logically there is more going on and more people want to eat and drink. The staff is nice and accommodating.

We were there with a group for Christmas dinner. The only positive thing straight away: The starter (nachos) tasted very good. The rest, however, especially the main course (fajitas), was subpar. The beef was very poor quality, fried for far too long and was almost cold when it was served (even though it was served in a pan). The chicken tasted better, but was dry and tough and of course only moderately warm. The fajitas were served so early that of course they were already cold by the time the meat was served. I therefore voluntarily gave up another portion. I don't think anyone in our large group ordered a second helping. The dessert was sosolala, coconut sorbet and mango sorbet (or was it peach sorbet) was nothing special. I definitely won't go there again and can't recommend the restaurant.

One of the best burgers I've eaten in a long time🔥 The staff was very friendly and I was served by a very friendly waitress.

The food was really great before they changed their chef or menu. After the new change the burger was smaller and the stuffing are also smaller. Before you had jalapenos as bottom layer of the burger but now you just have a burger with poorly chosen toppings. Now thr food isn't worth its price anymore but I'm giving it a 3 star instead of 2 because the service was always pretty on point as well as the ambience, as you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. It's been a while since my last visit so I might visit it again for another try, as well as add photos to the review.

I celebrated my birthday there, never again!!!! incompetent and unfriendly staff. My burger almost ran away as you can see in the picture... as compensation I received a carton of beer... It was NOT on the website that the football match was going on, so it was incredibly loud and we could hardly hold a conversation. I am extremely disappointed!!! In the end we had to add up our meals ourselves for the final bill! I've never experienced anything like this!

I ordered the fajita. It came almost immediately, not very hot as usually fajita comes sizzling (do they just heat it in the microwave?) and they expected me to share the accompaniment (sauces, tortilla, etc…) with another diner not sitting next to me (even though the quantity looked small for one individual and we didn’t order a fajita for two or to share). It got even colder as I waited for them to bring me the accompaniment (i had to insist) which curiously took longer than cooking the meat. What’s next? Share a bottle of coke with a neighboring table?

The food was very tasty; I didn't order any food, but it looked good. The alcoholic drinks could be compared to water, in that sense it was way too expensive. So I simply borrowed other guests' drinks and ungodly imprinted one on my hard drive. + 1 star for that. But, two bonus stars for being able to borrow the hand dryer from the men's toilet for free indefinitely. Overall it wasn't worth it. You have to know!

Very bad! We waited forever for our food and then it came to the table cold. My tacos were just cold and not good at all! There were 12 of us and they didn't want to serve us dessert at 10:30 because the kitchen was already closed! When we complained they came to take the order and when we wanted to order churros the excuse was again that the kitchen was already closed so we could order cake or ice cream. Service very bad and rude! Late macchiato came to the table overflowing with foam, the glass was full of foam, the spoons of dessert were just lying carelessly on the chocolate top in the middle of the plate... I could go on and on but I'm tired of it... so it's just BAD. The only thing that was good were the drinks.

Very bad. Waiters were ridiculously impolite, food was cold and bad, and they not only didn't ask us for desserts - they refused to bring us deserts (at 10:30 p.m.), even when we were a 12 persons birthday party. The waiters answer to my question whether I could get a cappuccino at eleven on a Saturday was: "No." Just: "No." Oh, and the best thing: When one of us wanted to order steak, the waitress told us that the only options are bloody or done, because the cook isn't able to do medium, and that's the reason why three steaks around our tables had been sent back to the kitchen, haha! Drinks were okay though.
