Very professionally run ristorante with passion by Chef Gianni Masullo with fresh Italian ingredients. Anyone who comes once always comes back.

A visit to Da Carlo is always and absolutely recommended!!! The finest cuisine in a warm ambience - like in the south of Italy!!! A holiday moment in the gray everyday life!!!

Very friendly and warm host. The boss personally served us, unranderem. The service staff who brought the food and cleared the plates did this very stylishly. The starter as well as the main course and the dessert were very tasty. We felt like we were in Italy. We'd love to come back.

Very attentive service and excellent pasta

The restaurant is centrally located and offers typical Italian cuisine on the menu. The service is friendly and very prompt. The food is good, as you would expect from a typical Italian restaurant. The simple chairs are ok for a 1-2 hour meal. We can recommend the restaurant.

Going there relaxes you and makes you happy. Excellent welcoming and informal location, cheerful and effective service. I'll be back as soon as I can with great pleasure. See you soon maestro Gianni.

Well the pizza wasn't that good, much too thin. There were too many people in the pizzeria so that one. No longer hearing your own words.

I have been to this restaurant, I must say that everything was impeccable. We ate a tagliatella with Marsala with an intoxicating taste, even the 5-star game dishes. The service was attentive and always available for our every request. Greetings to the Chef we will definitely return.

Fantastic atmosphere and excellent cuisine and friendly service

We were looking for good pasta and chose this restaurant. When we arrived to pick up the food and I asked for parmesan, the first strange reaction came. But then charging 10 for a bottle of water is a huge rip off. I've never paid so much for water - not even in the higher segment. The food wasn't convincing either, the carbonara was made with cheap ham and bland - nothing to do with Italian! The restaurant looks nice and cozy, you have to give them that. If service and friendliness could be improved then the mediocre food would be less noticeable.

A beautiful restaurant, with great, freshly prepared Italian dishes (homemade pasta!) that you could only imagine from a real Italian mom. Perfect in taste and appearance. Balm for the soul - rounded off with attentive service and refreshing conversations, a pleasure experience. I went there for dinner two evenings in a row and will be back.

Simply perfect Italian cuisine of the best quality for decades. Gianni and his team are great hosts who warmly welcome their guests and look after them very well. My absolute favorite in Bern.

I used to go to Da Carlo every now and then. I now have to work in Bern more often and stopped here. Typical Italian reception. A small "Spina" followed by an unspectacular but well-sour salad accompanied by a creamy white wine rsotto with porcini mushrooms and parmesan shavings. Plus a glass of Vin Rosso as your monthly wine. From a culinary point of view, I was picked up wherever I wanted, Rosanna pampered me perfectly with the uncomplicated, warm service. Mille grazie for the authentic culinary program on a simple Tuesday evening.

This is the place I have eaten best pasta ever, better than all places I tried pasta in Rome. Especially it's quality of products which make big difference i think Also so charming and cozy atmosfer Da Carlo has, which make there best place for eating lovely delicious 😋 Italian cuisine Also do not leave the Da Carlo without meeting with boss (all Salute to Mr.Canni)

Price/performance is not right! 25.- for the smallest calzone I've ever seen. -_-

Nice restaurant with a central location and very friendly staff. Especially as a non-Swiss person you are very grateful for the price-performance ratio and it is also ideal for those on a smaller budget.

Nice place, nice food and staff

We spent a cozy evening. We were a large group. The food was served at the same time even though everyone ordered a different dish. Unfortunately my pizza wasn't crispy but had very good toppings and was still very good. The penne all' arrabiata was soooo good! Really al dente and spicy (I got to try it) unfortunately the white wine for the aperitif wasn't chilled enough and the red wine was well tempered. I'd love to come back!

One of the best Italians in town - and has been for years. I always receive a warm welcome from the boss and team. The menu is varied, with numerous Italian classics and seasonal highlights. Service orientation towards the wishes of the guests and quality are very important here - real Italian hospitality, VIVA ITALIA!

Ambiance is unusual and beautiful. Food is "solid" and good but not special. French salad dressing tastes like industrial sauce. Lasagna very rich sauce with (too) much cheese.

The restaurant is super cozy. The food was delicious (especially the pasta). We also had fish fillet (it was also good, but for the price I would have imagined something better). Halved was great, the waiters were nice too. I found limoncello for 8 CHF way too expensive. I would come again

The restaurant offers delicious pastas (we ordered the spaghetti bolognese, carbonara on this occasion) and the staff are lovely.

My parents went to this restaurant and they were delighted with it. "In a pleasant and familiar setting, full of Italian photos, we were able to enjoy a warm welcome. The boss stayed by our side to choose our dishes and offered to make us choose what we wanted in our pizza!! In short, we were on our knees in front of the quality of this pizza which can be described as particularly excellent. The same was true for a dish of large seafood pasta. Setting, welcome, quality everything came together to spend a great unforgettable time tasting a wide variety of dishes. What a great restaurant, friendly staff and outstanding food! We ordered 2 pizza 🍕 and 2 pasta. I don’t remember the names of the dishes but everything was perfect! 🫶🏻 Awesome restaurant, very delicious and the staff is friendly. We ordered two types of pizza, one for four and one for vegetables, and also one type of pesto pasta and another type of pasta. Delicious and I recommend it 👍🏻❤️

Conveniently located, this place is okay for Italian food. The food was tasty but it lacked the authentic Italian touch, I ordered the gnocchi which weren’t handmade but store bought and the tiramisu could have been better.

Delivery to your home Lasagna is not a feast for the eyes. Also very disappointing in terms of taste. I do not recommend this restaurant. Pizza was soggy and not all of the ingredients were visible as described. Garlic was as intense on the pizza as it was on garlic bread. Very unfortunate. It's better to buy frozen pizzas and ready-made lasagne for the oven.

The menu was about the size I would have expected from a half portion. When I commented to the staff that it was a bit small, I only received a mocking comment. They were just able to save themselves the second star because the food was nothing special, but tasted acceptable. I definitely do not recommend visiting this restaurant.

Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended. Delivery service was on time, but delivered rock hard bruschetta, spaghetti was so burnt (garlic dark brown and bitter) and spicy, therefore inedible, half and whole portions made no difference. Ruccola salad is also not recommended. A pity. A disgrace for 78 francs.
