Da Elio in Vaz/Obervaz

Food was ok. Pizza was good, but just average. I have never experienced an extra CHF 5.00 being charged for sharing a pizza in an absolutely empty restaurant. It's on the map though. But only saw it afterwards - no note from the service staff when ordering.

At Pizzeria Da Elio I not only experienced the best pizzas, but also the best tiramisu of my life. The pizzas were perfectly baked, with crispy edges and generous amounts of toppings. But the tiramisu was the absolute highlight of my visit. It was so incredibly creamy and full of flavor that I wanted to devour it by the spoonful. The dessert alone would be reason enough to visit this pizzeria. The ambience was also cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a pizzeria that not only serves great pizzas but also fantastic tiramisu, then this is definitely the right choice.

This restaurant definitely deserves a place on my list of favorite places to eat. The ambience of the restaurant is inviting and cozy. The warm colors, atmospheric lighting and tasteful furnishings create a pleasant atmosphere perfect for enjoying a delicious meal. The service was exceptional. The staff was not only professional and attentive, but also extremely friendly. Our waitress had extensive knowledge of the menu and was able to give us excellent advice. The dishes were served quickly and it was clear that the team attaches great importance to customer satisfaction. Now to the culinary highlights – the food was simply fantastic! The quality of the ingredients and the preparation testify to the craftsmanship in the kitchen. Every bite was a taste experience that exceeded my expectations. The selection on the menu is varied and offers something to suit every taste. The combination of flavors and presentation impressed me and will remain in my memory for a long time. In summary, I can warmly recommend the restaurant. It is the ideal place for special occasions, a romantic dinner or simply to enjoy excellent food in a pleasant atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to trying more delicacies on my next visit.

Very good food - really Italian. Great attentive and friendly service

It's a beautiful place, has slot machines downstairs and even a pinball machine. Price performance is generally ok for pizzas. We had a green salad ahead which was good. Main course 2 pizzas. The taste is ok, the size is also ok (lower limit, my personal opinion). What bothered me about both pizzas was that the base was very thin, as was the edge. This made the pizza hard and brittle in certain places, which I don't find very good. It really needs to have a slightly thicker base, which would hopefully make it a little softer and also result in a little more edge, which in my opinion is part of a pizza. The service was great, the lady who served us was a real ray of sunshine and very personable.

Run-down property - ambience of a kebab shop - trying to "spruce up" it with white tablecloths. The prices are more in line with the upper class and seem very imaginative under these conditions. Requests for changes are completely outrageously added to the price of the meal. Overall not recommended at all

Unfortunately we are very disappointed... We ordered to take away, the latest possible date to pick up the pizzas is 5:30 p.m. I was told it wasn't possible after that because of the many guests. At 5:25 p.m. when we came in the pizzas were already there (unheated). The manager was busy making reservations on the phone, the other employees behind the counter looked at us with wide eyes, but none of them felt responsible for serving us. I was wondering why 4 normal pizzas cost 103Fr. cost. However, it wasn't until we got home that we noticed that we had been charged the wrong price! We were charged the prices of the normal menu, not the takeaway menu. Annoying, but for around 20 francs. It was too stupid for me to go back again. I can't say much positive about the pizza. The dough was really nothing special, the pizzas were all very bland and quite small.

The grilled squid was perfect, the service was also nice.

The food was very tasty and the service was extremely friendly (Luca). For larger groups we found space in the Grottino, which was cozy and ideal for a convivial family meal.

Unfortunately a poor experience, starting with the unfriendly staff, incorrectly served food and the significantly inflated prices; Nut salad for 18 Fr., pizzas very small.

The service at the “Grotto & Pizzeria da Elio” was impeccable. Daniel was attentive and courteous. The staff was well trained and the entire process was professional and efficient. All in all, my visit to “Gourmet Genuss” was an absolute pleasure. The food was outstanding, the service excellent and the atmosphere pleasant. The staff tried hard to find a table for us even without a reservation. The waiter Istvan was very friendly and cheerful. The food seemed expensive to us in terms of price/performance. The salad was very original and under a house Bolognese, I expect a sauce with good meat from an Italian restaurant. Instead it was a sugo with minced meat like from the package, it could also have been vegetarian substrate instead of minced meat. We also paid over Fr. 45.00 at 5dl for the open house wine. When we asked for the boss, we were told he was never there on weekends and were given a business card to contact Simon Tabellini. I am now reporting here. A nice restaurant in itself - unfortunately the price/performance is not right. And I definitely won't go there again. T.M.

We ordered take-away from Grotto & Pizzaria da Elio several times during our vacation because we liked it so much. The risottos (Milanese, "da Elio" with giant prawns and red wine risotto) were all excellent, as was the penne all'arrabiata. The food was always ready to be picked up at the specified time and the contact was very friendly. We can only recommend the restaurant.

I am very disappointed with this restaurant. They advertise heavily with a take away menu on their homepage. When I wanted to order food at 5:30 p.m. on a Friday evening and pick it up at 7 p.m., the gentleman on the phone said that wasn't possible. Then you don't have time 🫤. He just said that I could pick up the food in 10 minutes. Sorry, who wants to eat dinner at 5:40 p.m. during the holidays! My opinion about this restaurant: If this is already overloaded with their own guests. Shouldn't they still offer take away!

I don't recommend the place! The Portuguese waiter was extremely rude and the service was terrible. He doesn't know how to treat a customer.

Unfortunately, quality has declined since last year. The Diavolo pizza was covered with just 6 slices of spicy salami. But underneath there was also cooked ham, which doesn't actually belong on the Diavolo. The edge of the pizza was largely baked black. The tiramisù, on the other hand, was delicious and beautifully prepared, but the profiterolles were unfortunately drowned in (a good, strong!) chocolate sauce. Less would be more here!
